Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake Review - Is This Remake Worth Playing? 

As someone who played the original, trust me when I tell you this is a MUST BUY. The graphics are beyond amazing and it is just another reason to revist Josef Fares' Classic!

I didn't realize the original was a decade old already.. Time flies! I def like games along the lines of Ico and Rain but I tend to overlook them for whatever reason as far as playing through

Just a warning: There is very little "game" inside, it's more of an interactive experience. I beat the game in only one hour by using a speedhack to fast forward the custscenes and make the movement faster.

It’s a game I do love. Haven’t played in many years. If a game is remade. I’ll be happy to purchase and replay this great game.

I never found the controls frustrating in the slightest.

I don't know witch version is the best, but watching the gameplay the improved graphics don't seem to make much of a difference, although I guess it's hard to know until you have it full size on your own screen. What looks strikingly different though are the cut scenes. They look stunning here. I'm not sure what I prefer though. I really liked the way the cut scenes were constructed in the original and am unsure if the completely reconstructed scenes give the same emotional impact. Something the review didn't touch upon is the music. The music sounds very different, or is it just me? Not sure what I think about that. Sounds too upbeat and cartoony. The original had a cartoony graphicsl style and setting but a less cartoony tone and story. The music make it sound a little like a platformer. I don't know. I'm cautiously positive, I think.

As a gamer I would love to enjoy Both, It's a beautiful game

To the old players this is not for you its for the players who haven't experience it. So stop complaining.

It's perplexing to me they even put in the time to remake this.

So far this game has been interesting. I usually play racing and action games so it's different.

You should call the dog with another brother, while first one is running, and then vica versa.

They should have added an option to play as a single kid while the ai controls the other.....while also keeping the option to control both as in the original. Should have vastly reduced the frustration for both new as well as old players.

i've played the original 2 years ago for the 1st time and it was perfect and the remake is not necessary at all

I literally just finished playing the original and saw there was a remake ;-;

Default settings DLSS Balanced on a 4070 WTF ... I wouldn't mind if these games looked good enough to warrant the extreme hardware requirements but they don't. UE5 needs fixing.

I can't disagree with the controls critique enough. There are plenty of story driven adventure games with puzzle mechanics. There is exactly one story driven adventure game with puzzle mechanics where you control 2 characters simultaneously with one controller using a dedicated analog stick for each character. The controls are the single thing separating this game from the sea of similar games. This control scheme will always be novel.

"A remake that faithfully brings all of its strengths forward" - utter nonsense! As soon as I saw the clip of them running from the dog between the hay bails and jaunty, silly music was playing, I knew this remake was completely out of whack! That's not at all the original tone of the game. No piece of music in the original ever sounded like that, and that's because this game's story is a grim, Scandinavian inspired fairytale, not some jolly Disney bullshit! This glowing review - apart from proving the writer doesn't know what the hell he's talking about when comparing it to the original - also simply proves how visually tone-death some people are, where they think 'higher fidelity' graphics means 'better visuals'. Any video that puts the remake side by side with the original (not this one you might notice - wouldn't surprise me if they were shills) will see how woefully lazy and uninspired these new visuals are, with completely toned down lighting, lacking in contrast and dramatic dynamics, giving everything a very flat, boring visual style, and completely losing in its generic Unreal blandness the soft-edged, pastel-based storybook colours and lines of the original. Meanwhile the controls and puzzle design of the original appear to be almost unchanged, so really all you're paying for here is a worse looking and sounding experience. For those that have never played the original then, this remake is NOT THE BEST WAY to play this excellent game - save your money and don't support lazy remakes!

Genuinely can't fathom why they thought it needed a remake, business reasons aside. The simple look of the original worked perfectly in contrast with the more grim aspects of the story, this just looks like any other shiny indie UE copy/pasted game.

Ignoring the stupid old and new sense, the game is good or not? Ignore if is old or new, compared to the first game, something is different? (I need to say that, people fight just because there is a old version)

Cinematics in remake are wierd they move like bad actors in a theater. Original game have the Best animations for cutscenes. Also the faces are really wierd, i cannot get immersed in the game just because of the faces, especialy the younger Brother face.

Complaining about the core element of the controls, literally the thing that made this game so unique, shows that people like this should not be reviewing games.

This isn't a remake. It's a remaster.

My left and right thumb doesn't enjoyed this.

Each brother has his own action button assigned to one of the triggers. You become accustomed to using both buttons. One brother dies, and uoi can’t do certain things alone. But then you use the dead brothers button. Suddenly you can complete the difficult task, because he is with you in spirit. There, I saved you a few bucks.

No just play the original

this remake sucked so bad im gonna throw up. the hyperrealistic uncanniness of the boys hurts to look at. the spider sequence was especially egregious. this is BROTHERS not a fucking marvel movie why change OSTs and designs so much. this remake is a shell of the former game and a shameless cash grab
