I was really young when I've played this game. Like 13yo or so. The entire game made me realize the huge sacrifice of each soldier; not only about death, but moralit, psychology, doubts, défiance, fear... When I've heard the end credit, I cried, oh man I did. I was a young French boy realizing the human side of the war.
"I never asked to be squad leader, but I had no choice. Now I've got thirteen soldiers under my command. Thirteen soldiers depending on me to make the right decisions and not get them killed. Thirteen families relying on me to get their husbands and sons home. Thirteen. Thirteen is not a lucky number."
@baki 1950720 i hope so too many delays i bet they are trying to write an impactful story and avoiding the pressure from the left hopefully. Cannot wait to fight in snow.
listening to this music at he ending of the game made me want to say to the men "i" lost, im so sorry i couldn't save you...forgive me for being alive.... this game helped me connect with my great great uncle who was in the army during the second world war, i didn't get why he just couldn't talk to me about the war how is that fair, after playing this game i stopped asking about the war....i asked about the men....and we had the deepest conversation ive ever had.....so thanks ubisoft for in some small way teaching me its not the tanks, the guns, or the nukes that wins wars...but the boy...who became men.....and cant forget..
Must've surprised him, WW2 vets are probably used to getting asked things like "How many Nazis did you kill" So to have somebody ask about the people he served with, must have been a pleasant surprise. I know from personal experiences that it's not the training or the things that happen that mean the most to you, it's the people you meet, and the connections you make. As time fades, you forget what was taught to you, and the places you've been, but you never forget the people you did those things with.
In reflection it always felt like this was a movie series ,like starwars or something yet so much deeper and hearing these is like having someone whisper the story in my ear ,each time as enjoyable as the last . Good show lads
The main character is a portrayal of a paratrooper by the name of Harrison Summer from the 101st airborne who fought through all the events you play in the game and survived. I've been to the places in Normandy and they are still the same to this day.
Not too much is known about him, but it is true, Sgt Summer was the man who (almost) singlehandedly cleared Objective XYZ(In the game, you and Corporal Hartsock do this, Hartsock standing in for the only two riflemen from Summer's squad who helped him clear the garrison) We do know Harrison was also present during Cole's charge, being one of if not the most heroic men in the attack, leading all the way. And he was also eventually promoted to First Lieutenant, and fought during Operation Market Garden, and The Battle of the Bulge. However to say Sgt Baker fights in all the exact events as Summer would just be wrong, yes the story is loosely based on that of Harrison's, but I think even for a man as legendary as Harrison Summer, to fight in that many battles over the course of just eight days, is just a little bit unbelievable. Sgt Baker, and his squad, are more stand-ins for the 502nd PIR as a whole, rather than being the exact stories of any specific men in particular.
The Road to Hill 30 soundtrack(along with the rest of the games) have to be the most underrated game music around, it's funny because the actual gameplay has no music, and because most of the cutscenes are rendered in-game there is not much music, however the music that you do hear really sticks with you. I'll always be able to whistle that opening tune to Earned in Blood as the camera pans out of rain-filled shot of southern France and focuses on Red as he's about to tell a great story. Or the moments in Hell's Highway when the 502 is still assembling, and that heroic anthem plays as your scout jeeps charge through the unconquered lands of Holland to the rally point, passing your various squadmates and other members of the 502 still unloading from their gliders. And of course, all the end credit themes are stellar, all three of them give me goosebumps and put a tear in my eye.
Best world war game out there - Music, Story, Characters, Environment - I tip my imaginary hat to all the people who made this series and of course all the marines who fought during these days.
I love this track. The music along with the title blocks scrolling by really puts into perspective how much has happened toward the road to Carentan. It's also sad to see the lost faces in those credits knowing they're no longer around from hereon.
For ever in my memories, ALSO, respect to all thoes german warriors we fought, they were in much harder conditions and still gave quite a fight, recognition to your foe can only make grater your effort ❤

Saturday,10 pm.. I am listening to this.. after being abused by parents.. When i think how death feels.. i listen to this ost out of my collection.. I get a feeling of something like this "i should have died and my squad should have been lived.." Living alone in this world in your own..is kinda painful.. Having a beautiful heart and peace loving attitude.. isn't for this world..I hope I get the ending I have been waiting for...I don't know whether I will be alive..or dead..I don't know..but I am thankful to God for this peaceful life and also I am thankful to the soldiers of our world who fought for our freedom and peace..
Brothers in Arms isn't just a game about actions that you make, but it's about how the war ended and begined. The second World War will be a never again attempted torture. Many men had to die for there country.A mystery that a few people now Know.
Begined isn't a word mate, also, put spaces after your periods.Because you get transitions like this that make your eyes bleed. Clearly the second world war will never be attempted again, but somebody might take a go at the third world war, that one's never been done, although we've been talking about it since the end of the last one. Many men did die for *their* country, and it's not a mystery, it's mostly derived from tribal instincts to protect one's group, in this case a country. In combat men are put into groups, over 100 to a company, 30 to a platoon, 8-12 to a squad. Men start to see these combat groups as their families, as they go through traumatic events with them and spend prolonged times with them, thus they form a primeval bond, and their tribal instincts shift from an inherent desire to protect the people, to a desire to protect loved ones. Bonds like this aren't exclusive to war either, although they are the strongest there as the events are much more dramatic, but similar companionships can appear in schools, places of work, etc.
I got to say that this is the best music for this game. Very heart-touching and all I think of is all those men and women that died fighting for freedom during World War II. You can might as well play this during Veteran Day for all the other soldiers.
I just bought this game on steam and it was well worth the money, I tried so hard to keep everyone alive reloading saves just because one man died. I was so sad when the game killed them without me me being able to do anything about it.
part from 2:43 remind me of something, it's simillar to soundtrack from one of the movies, maybe someone has this feeling too and know what i'm thinking about?;)
this game reminds me of how shit is the gameplay or the graphics of the game but as long as it has a good fucking story, it will make the game be very memorable. especially with the all characters you met in the game. this is something that missing in call of duty ww2.
sorry, but it isnt true story world war 2 wins USSR (Joseph Stalin) USA comes in 1944,USA must comes in 1941 when war was begining, but America comes when war was ending in 1944,and if someone will say USA win that war,its mean he or she dont now history world war 2 I am from georgia at the black sea and georgia was in USSR too and my grandmother's 2 brothers,my grandfather's 3 uncle,my about the grand mother and about the grandfather were in world war 2 too.I dont know why people do that false games were USA wins world war 2,please remember that, world war 2 wins USSR and not USA,not England, not france that war wins USSR,and heroes from USSR please remember that.
+Dima Natchkebia Your grammar is beyond atrocious, go learn English before you write hateful comments directed towards English speaking people in English. At least then we might be able to understand your arrogant ass.

+The Arctic Gamer Are You serious? He's from Georgia and probably not english teacher.
***** "Are you serious?" Why does where he comes from change things? I'm saying I know he's not a fucking English speaker, which is why I suggest he stop writing hateful comments in a language he doesn't understand directed towards the people who DO speak the language. When the fuck did English teacher come up? I think Google Translate betrayed you my friend, because that is completely irrelevant and out of nowhere.
