This is the best BC video I've seen to date. I know these trails well, and you made me feel right at home!

I'm fortunate to live about 1/2 hour away from Brown County, and have ridden theere often. I've also done a lot of trail work there. I was sitting here wondering how the drone manages to not hit any branches... Then got to that last bit in the video. LOL I'd been searching, waiting for video of Hobbs Hollow. That first big drop caught me off guard on my 08 Gary Fisher Procaliber XC bike. No dropper, and I went right off it. Just got way back and swore to my self ( I might have yelled it outloud) "I am not going over the bars!" I installed a dropper on that bike after than, but have now gotten a modern hardtail, with modern geometry, and it'll be getting a dropper before hitting that trail again... Great video, and beautiful drone footage and editing. Hope the drone is OK.

Thanks so much! You’re very lucky to have this as your local trails! A year after this video was made we did another one also showcasing Hobbs, it’s one of my all time favorites! Also luckily the drones are pretty resilient haha 😂

Yep folks....it's true. Right in the middle of all those corn and soy fields and expanse flat ugliness is a place called Brown County, where Indiana grew some geological tumors that most of us find entertaining. Problem is, save for the southern Hoosier national forest, it's about all this state has like it. Which means, it mostly stays crowded, both inside, as well as outside the woods. Add to that the fact that trails one would consider exclusive MB trails, there is always boneheads walking their dogs and children down them, and so technical chunk is NOT your only obstacles...that minivan you saw in the parking lot, with 8 figures of family and a dog and one cat depicted on that back glass...yep, they are ALL skittering down there on HHT, and about half of them would love for you to hit one of them, so they TOO can have a $5,000 mountain bike, to take place of that rotted-out minivan. In other words, they don't like moving to the side, often times. If you manage your time to ride, you can mitigate some of that but, it's a gem that missed it's cut. Mixing equestrian, pedestrian and cycling on the same trails is an absolute stupid bit of resource management. In Southwestway Park Indianapolis, I was nearly kicked off my bike by a horse. I could see the horse was bothered by the hub ratchet, and so I parked to let them (the horses and their riders) by. One dumb chick on the horse that tried to kick me, kept telling me it was ok and to just go by. When I did, that big sucker spun on me and tried to dispatch my ghost! That crap was close! Anyway, Brown County can be cool but, come during the week, and the earlier you hit it, the better.

There is definitely a lot of truth to the trails being a little sketchy with the hikers around any corner. Gotta be very careful when it's busy out there.

You're painting a pretty negative picture... I've ridden Brown County for years. I've come across more rude bikers than rude hikers. Most hiker traffic is limited to fairly close to the campground, or to the north entrance (North Tower, connector, and Pine Loop. When you get deeper into the trail system, the hiker traffic is pretty sparse. My biggest "HEY ASSHOLE" moment was for a rider hauling ass towards us (I saw him coming on one of the switchbacks) and not giving my young daughter room on our side of the trail. She had to balance on the edge of the trail, and I was holding my breath she didn't get run off into the ravine... I might have had a couple choice words to the rider as I passed. (She was ahead of me) Now Southwestway, for sure... There are many horse riders that don't want us there, and I have had numerous run-ins with them. Local horser owners were riding in those woods before it was a City part, and were not happy when we built the mountainbike trails... hence the horse poop on the trails, and the occasional horse on the bike/hike trails.

@@TheDustyDutchman Wow. Good that it doesn't hold you guys back. And great that you team-up with someone who obviously understands best what to do if it were to ever become an instant-on issue, My oldest son suffers from it, and I mean SUFFERS from it.

Thank you, yeah it helps being around someone that truly understands what it takes to manage it. When I was younger it held me back much more, it took a few years to really get it under control and understand how to manage it on a daily basis.
