It’s a huge undertaking. Sometimes I wonder what I got myself in to haha It’ll be great when it’s back on the road I’m sure. At least until the transmission blows up haha.
Hey I know a couple episodes ago you were asking about but driver extensions. I highly recommend the 2454-22 kit. It’s a 3/8 impact on the m12 battery line but it’s super light weight and really impressive for how small it is. It would work a little better probably than using the bit extensions and it’s lighter than your bigger impact. I’ve been really impressed with mine since I’ve owned it so far! Just my two cents, love the videos though!
What I have heard that kills these transmissions is the heat. The tranny coolers on those trucks was inadequate from the start. Run the absolute biggest cooler you can fit to your truck. I'm staying tuned in for this one. Just curious, how long is the Cummins compared to the 300 straight six ? I know that big six is way longer then an FE big block.
Good question with the comparison to the 240/300 straight six! As far as transmission heat, in all my trucks I’ve always run a transmission temperature gauge, and aftermarket cooler. This transmission will be no exception.
