This video is in direct response to fishermen questioning "How and When to Weight Planer Board Lines". The Saiff Charter Fleet fishes "skinny water" for Brown Trout each spring. In this video we are using a Michigan Stinger spoon program. In shallow water, these spoons are run from planer boards with no weight. This allows the angler to access very shallow water. When Browns move offshore and into deeper waters, we use several methods to "weight" our planer lines. Capt. Bill Saiff III discusses the methods the Fleet uses to stay in contact with these fish.
