The Browning 1911-22 Compact is a 7/8th scale 1911 Commander chambered for 22LR. Very good quality and fun to shoot. Shout out for Michael Zeleny. / michaelzeleny
I like these little guns so much, I just bought my third one last week. I now have the one you showed in this video, the longer slide version and a polymer frame version with a tungsten Cerakote slide. They all shoot great and have never malfunctioned yet. And they are just a pile of fun to shoot.
What i like about these is theyre sized proportionately to the 22LR round, most 1911s chambered in 22 look oversized and silly. thanks for the video its hard to find info on these
I’ve got one just like that and it eats everything I put in it. Only negative is the beaver tail safety. It needs a bump so you can positively engage it with out a death grip on the pistol.Would like to find one to replace it with but meanwhile a little moleskin will do the trick. Really great shooter
Never noticed a problem. But I suppose that will vary from person to person and the size of their hands. I have medium size hands and the grip safety depresses very naturally for me. But I can understand how someone with large hands might have to grip it tighter to disengage the safety.
My wife just purchased one of these but she found the discontinued Compact Speed version which is camo with an fde cerakote slide. It has a little bump on the bottom of the beaver tail grip safety.
Glad you like it. But I don`t do anything special. Pretty much still do just what I did before I started doing RU-vid videos. Now I just take the camera with me when I go to the range and get a little bit of the shooting on camera. Don`t know if you like the steam engine videos as well as the gun videos, but I went to the local big steam show last week. Got enough footage for a whole bunch of short steam engine and classic car videos. Will post a couple of those every month as well as the regular gun videos.
Being a scaled-down version of a 1911, I found this little piece to be quite unique yet beautifully executed. I've never been a fan of 7rnd .45 1911s, but I couldn't resist this .22lr. I liked it so much I got a Rock Island 9mm 1911 GI as its companion. What I would give for a scaled-down Beretta M9 and CZ75b!
I’ve had. My Browning 1911/22 for about 5 years shoot mostly Remington golden bullets, (buckets of bullets. ) 1400 count. Love it ! My wife enjoys trading with it also. Never a problem with approximately 2000 rounds down range.
The closest thing for the Beretta 92 scale down in .22LR would be the Beretta 87. Nice, but now harder to get because of being discontinued, and expensive. For that matter, the older Beretta 70s in .22LR was nice too.
I have same pistol in full "Government" size. Runs well with all ammo I've run through it and CCI Standard velocity and Green Tag produced best groups. Only fault I've had with the pistol is it begins to run sluggish after 125 rounds fired. A quick Stop N Clean gets it back to perfect.
Depends on the weather. If it`s hot, I generally just pocket carry a little NAA Guardian 32 auto. If it is jacket weather, most often a Star Firestar 40 or the S&W model 67 on the belt. Sometimes the Colt Gold Cup 45 in a shoulder rig.
The "Black Label" guns are newer than this one. This is from the year they 1st came out. I think some versions of the Black Label have plastic frames and some alloy. This one has an alloy frame. Not sure if there are any other differences. Since I have this one, I have not really paid much attention to the newer ones.
Good Evening. Im in the process of purchasing one of these mini 1911s. Just wanted to know what is the over size of the slide ? I have seen 2 different sizes on 2 different sites. Please let me know. Thank You
They make them in 2 different slide lengths. This one is the compact, or shorter version. These are 7/8th scale 1911 pistols. Based on the Colt Government and Commander. The Government model has a 5 inch barrel, the Commander has a 4 1/4 inch barrel. The little Brownings have the same proportions of both, but at 7/8th scale.
First off sweet gun i bet John Browning would get a kick out of his baby in 22lr as he was an avid bullseye shooter. Second how does the scale of the gun effect upgrades? Will it except compact main spring housings for example? or is it in its own scale as far as parts go.
I don`t think anything would interchange between this gun and a full size 1911. And it`s not just size. While it looks like a 1911, it is a straight blowback 22 action. The internal design is much different than a centerfire 1911.
Hey Mr. Shep I know you love 22lr but what's your go to self defense cartridge? Oh and I love you're videos but I'm pretty sure you know that by now. Thanks again. 👽c c c c c c c🔫
Almost any decent power level cartridge will due for self defense. At home, I keep 3 guns loaded. A 12ga shotgun, a 45acp, and a 44 Special. For carry, depends on the weather. Hot weather I stick to pocket guns. 32acp or a J Frame 38, maybe a 380. Cooler weather with a jacket, a K Frame 38, mid size auto in 40, or sometimes a 45 in a shoulder rig. Mostly ease of carry. The easier and more comfortable it is to carry, the more likely you will carry it instead of leaving it at home or leaving it in the car.
@@1957Shep I carry a Glock 27. Easy to consile and enough get back until I get to my rifle. I'd like to believe anyway. But if I do get to the carbine well uk...😁
