Bruce Kulick On KISS's Decision To Record "Beth" With Eric Carr On Vocals 

I just want to say that Bruce seems like a good person. All he wanted to do was play in Kiss and stay away from all the problems within Kiss. He did ask Paul and Gene questions on how can I do this better on a song they were doing and I am sure Paul and Gene appreciated that from him. That is why they are on good terms I am sure.

In my opinion, the reason they had Eric sing the song was....they HAD to include that song on the album, but they had to present the band/package as it was at that point (with Bruce and Eric). It would have been weird to have an odd track with a former member singing. Eric singing it gave them the opportunity to make the project appear current, for it's time.

I would like to see Bruce do an Interview explaining what was going on between Eric Carr And Paul Stanley 15 Months before Eric's Death. 🙏 Please Bruce!!!

We miss an remember Eric Carr Rest In Peace

Even if eric carr was adamant about singing beth in the compilation in respect for peter criss original he did an amazing and truly remarkable job of singing it.Peters original take is classic but erics cover only he could did what he did.

It's a great, "alternate version" of a huge hit which even non-KISS fans loved. I'm guessing that since both Ace and Peter were no longer in the band, they didn't want to include any of their "lead vocals" on the compilation. Still, the 2 new songs and numerous alternate versions of classic tracks made it worth buying the CD even if you had owned every studio album up to that point.

KISS missed out having Eric Carr sing BETH as a live encore for the following tour. Would've been huge in the AMAZING HITS show and setlist.

Eric Carr god bless his soil, did a great job on Beth almost sound like Peter!!

There were no Ace songs on this compilation album and i guess they wanted to include a peoples choice award song which happened to be peters. So i guess the 1988 lineup of kiss wanted everything their own songs or current versions

He sang it better than the original anyway...

Eric carr is the Best drummer

Easily one of the most unnecessary re-recordings Kiss ever did, right up there with Strutter '78. Sure, they had Eric Carr sing Beth when they played live. But that didn't mean they needed to re-record it. Paul and Gene just did it to spite Peter because there was still bad blood between them. And worst of all, this was one of the only times Eric Carr was allowed to sing on a Kiss record, and it had to be a re-recording that was never going to surpass the original.

Paul and Gene can’t handle the fact that their biggest ever hit was written and sung by Peter Criss.....

I think it is a good version, but i only hope they had to pay good money to Peter to do It, but they propably found a way out of paying Peter more than pocket money😳😢

Why didn't they let Bruce sing any songs?

They had Eric sing it for legal reasons. At the time, they were I a dispute about the song. And couldn't use it with Peter's voice.... So they had Eric song it.

KISS had this repetitive history of doing really obviously stupid things, and later Paul would say "how could we have known?".

the album should have been called smashes crashes and misses let's put the X in sex corny song. can't even remember the name of the other song that was new and I agree they never should have touched Beth some things you just don't redo. Kiss has littered their catalog with too many Greatest Hits albums just a greedy cash grab. And it sucks because I've been a kiss fan since 1975

Eric was the best drummer they had.

Always hated Petey, I never liked the song, but I'm glad Eric did it, and anything that annoys the Makeup Geeks is fine by me.
