Did Vic Moore really block Bruce Lee’s punches at the 1967 Long Beach International Karate Championships in California? This video proves he was lying!
@@marksherrill2546 I think so. Perhaps, it is possible Lee said that to impress him to work with him. Lee was developing relationships at those times with popular Karate and other fighters to promote his styl of fighting.

@@donstory5097 Yes it didn't look like He could actually hit him from there but still the guy could've stopped Bruce lee's hand before reaching that close to his body. The punch reached a bit more than the distance at which he could block the attack but he wasn't fast enough. So it seems like Victor would definitely not be fast enough to stop an actual hit if Bruce Lee stood closer.
@@donstory5097 Oh i saw another video of this , Victor said that Bruce lee said he was gonna punch at his chest but he did one at his head after getting two hits blocked, Victor said reading his eye movement and body language helped a lot , also what he said in this video too he said there was so much noise so he glanced for a moment towards the audience and Bruce Lee scored the hit. There was footage from another angle which shows he did block some hits. So Bruce Lee scored at first but then Victor figured it out and was able to block those.

Mike would be getting ready to throw a punch, but like thunder, the lightning flash came 15 seconds ahead. He would be wondering why he’s so dizzy all of a sudden. His brain would just realize he’d been hurt 15 seconds after the fact.😂 and then if kicks were allowed, like in UFC. Mike really be taking a nap on the canvas quicker. I think Vic Moore's reaction toward Bruce is all the evidence we need. He clearly is amazed, smiles, and bows his head toward Bruce in acknowledgement. My impression of his reaction; he is giving Bruce credit for suprising him and is impressed.
I could also buy Vic's version maybe, where he said 'what was that?' Saw zero blocks, of course, but Bruce doesn't look like he's in a range to do damage at all. And yes, I'm familiar with his work and weird facts about his freakishness
I watched it at 0.25 x speed and found out that vic moved his hand after Bruce Lee's punch stopped . He is the closest to superhuman speed in the real world
Are you blind? Bruce is punching 15" away from Vic Moore. Not even close to his face. Of course you can't hit his hand in this video. Bruce is too far away. From my understanding when Bruce Lee actually made it to the screen they asked him to “slow down” because he was to fast for the frame rate to be able to capture what he was actually doing. As a student of philosophy and martial arts in all forms; Bruce Lee’s training methods of being able to “react” are unprecedented. Flexing and using every single muscle available and controlling it requires insane focus and restraint as well as intense strength training that would seem a bit unorthodox to the average gym-goer. Yet, his philosophies are the most practical in everyday application.

You can tell by the footage that Vic Moore was not successful in blocking Bruce Lee’s punches, and the way he acts after it tells me that he accepted defeat. Years later he would obviously re-tell the story differently especially when Bruce is not arround to tell his side of the story. Bruce Lee was insanely fast, there was no denying that.
having your hands by your side and being expected to block a punch is NOT the same as being in a fight with your hands already up. Surely you understand that.
@@DWUnkown What does that have to do with this challenge? The challenge was Vic Moore had to block Bruce’s punch even by touching Bruce’s hand. Vic had to move his hands to defend himself before Bruce could get close to his face with his fist. It was a speed challenge, not meant to represent a real-life situation. But, even if this was in the street, the victim may not be prepared and may have their hands by the sides when suddenly they are attacked.
Bruce Kee was way too FAST FOR VIC Moore. If vic says he blocked Bruce Lee's punch...NEVER HAPPENED! IF BRUCE LEE WAS ALIVE, VIC WOULDNT BE TALKING TRASH .
@No1SirDuke BigRob No shit sherlock. Were you expecting him to land a real punch without any protective gear? Goal of challange was to touch Lee's hand, not stop an actual punch. Guy literally starts to bow his head down in respect and acknowledgement mere seconds later the event. He only dares to shit talk 50 years later when Lee is long gone.

Because he never mastered a single martial art he took bits from all of them and kept the best parts. Great idea on his part but also he was never a master of any of them, he actually never finished wing chun. Also he was not a Professional fighter and would only fight people behind closed doors and the accounts of what happened in those fights are disputed and conflicting. For that reason he is known for being an actor first regardless of how good or bad he actually was at fighting. Hard to benchmark someone if you have NEVER seen them fight and they have no fight record. For me Bruce is admirable in his thinking and training, NOT his skills as a fighter. I cant have an opinion on his skills as a fighter since i have never seen him fight and i refuse to take the word of his friends and students, that would be foolish to do.

If a simple cellphone falling on top of your nose can be enough to break it or disorient you at the very least, then a person's fist, even with such a "horrible" stance, going that fast is surely going to hurt.
Bruce Lee's abilities didn't come from God, they came from his passion of MA and his intense daily training that boarded on the obsessive. You can see Brue Lee throws the punch well short of Vic Moore's face but Lee's elbow has a major bend in it, indicating he had PLENTY of reach to hit Moore in the face. Lee pulled the punch and it was clearly out and back before Moore's hand went up to block. Bruce pulled his punch before it made contact with Vic's chest. But it's clear that if Bruce had actually wanted to follow thru and tag Vic he clearly would have been able to, because Bruce's punch was already pulled back before Vic put up his block.

It’s actually so unreal seeing Bruce Lee do that, just look at it in slow motion for example look at his footwork it’s so amazing just imagine the control required for something like that, then also look at the way he’s focused on his opponent even after he finishes the strike. I wish he was still among us, the world would be a better place.
you do understand this a parlor trick. One man flat footed- side by side at that. While one man in a combat stance. Not to mention looking straight forward. The eyes can’t detect movement straight forward the way that dipping your head and slightly of to the side can.No to mention Bruce didn’t come close to his face. There was still space to cover. Yet Bruce didn’t cover it! Why??????? To save Vic????? No because it’s a parlor trick. Not to mention it’s a sucker punch that wouldn’t of been successful. All you have to do is look at the distance Bruce would’ve had to cover. The punch was out of Bruce’s power zone. The same technique with Vic in a combat stance gets anyone including Bruce ko’ed. If your looking for a hero- fine. But don’t diminish one the best that ever did it. Vic Moore in old age would wipe the floor with 99.9 of you cheerleaders. Not to mention his students would too. Bruce has no footage of real fights and one tape sparring. Yet you hero worshipers give him more credit than a real champion. A lot of ppl didn’t even recognize the jump. And the point was for Vic to block in other words hand up before lees hand goes down Lee wasn’t suppose to actually him .. just the fact he got his hands in the air and back down shows He coulda actually tapped Vic in the face or chest it’s not about how hard or how much force he uses.. a lot of talking about how much damage it don’t look like it coulda itsnt making sense Cus that’s not what that was about
This reminds me of the story about another contest . Someone challenged BL early in his career. He put a hand in chalk before the bout. I cant remember all the details but the opponent had hand marks on his chest before he even got a punch off. Looks to me like Vic Moore submitted to the quickness of Bruce by slumping over. Its definitely body language that conveys defeat. Shame no contact allowed at the time. Vic would've been sitting down after the first strike. Too quick !
Vic Moore is either senile, or a liar. Since this video was posted, Moore has made many more outlandish claims over on Viking Samurai's channel. He claims he blocked Bruce Lee's strikes, then proceeded to return strikes of his own at Bruce Lee. Moore claims that he landed his strikes and that the crowd was booing Bruce Lee. He also claims that Bruce Lee began to cry after all of this. Viking Samurai has had a couple of guests on, such as Chuck Sullivan who was a witness to the whole event, who have all basically confirmed what I said above. Vic Moore is either senile, or a liar.

No ranked belts. No professional competition. He studied martial arts was a good fighter, a philosopher in an actor. So technically he accomplished nothing in the world of mix martial arts as far as actual combat competition. I'm pretty sure Albert actually did real work in his field. That's actually a retarded A$$ comparison.
The footage shows that after the punch Bruce stepped within knockout range much faster than Vic could clumsily withdraw. It was clear to see that even in the event of real fight, even if Vic could successfully defend against Brruce Lee for 20 seconds he would have been confused and possibly outmanouvered because Bruce was able to approach swiftly and very fast without losing any smoothness. That skill alone is very useful in fighting. approach, withdraw and sidestep fast and without losing balance or orientation. Next thing is technique and the last thing is strike or throw or joint operation(lock, twist or throw).. The last thing is the body toughness. If you cannot strike, cannot outsmart or block or counter you count on own body toughness.. Bruce Lee was simply better. Different level altogether. Probably 20th dan in Karate terms, according to what can be seen here.
Many people say Bruce Lee is just a pretender. If you have a remote clue about martial arts and, seeing this as a proof, you know how easy it was for Bruce to hit Vic's face and, with such speed, it'd be a down at first hit.
