Thanks to everyone for all the likes and positive comments ! I listened this interview so many time that I know it by heart lol I will never get bored of it... this is why I decided to put it on youtube, and I sincerely appreciate all your comments. It's good to see so many Bruce Lee's fans !
Thanks for posting this one. I’ve been similarly obsessed with the Pierre Burton interview for his visual presence, but Lee seems to be given a little more room in this interview.
Most of his sayings were also mentioned on his other interview with Pierre Berton, but without being cut off mid talk. Glad that Ted was not doing that and actually listened.
The more I learn about Bruce, the more I’m just fascinated by the way he lived his life. He accomplished so much in such a very short time that most people can’t even comprehend to achieve in an entire lifetime. I’m definitely a follower of his philosophy.
he was already accomplished because his father was an actor and he got roles as a young kid he was silver spooned even his trainer ip man was friends with his father and so he trained bruce better than his other students plus bruce lee lived on the west coast in the us. it's easier to make it when opportunities are right at your doorstep.
@@bodystarksfit_testfitness819 How would you know for a fact that IP man trained Bruce Lee better than his other students? Did you watch and compare how differently Bruce was taught than others? Were you there physically watching or something? I’m sure IP Man was friends with everyone that he taught and not just Bruce’s father. What do you mean by saying that Bruce was already accomplished because his father was an actor? What does Bruce’s father being an actor have to do with anything that Bruce did? You make no sense! Everyone makes their own choices in life and most people have similar opportunities and you’d be surprised at just how many people don’t do anything with their opportunities. Opportunities don’t make you successful at what you do but the choices that you make with those opportunities do!
Still so many years later- I play this interview to my dad (ted thomas ) he lives in Thailand now and he is still kicking at 93 years old!!!!! Love that this interview gets so much love. If anyone wants to send a nice message to him I would be happy to pass it on
10:20 Bruce Lee on fame: “People tend to be blinded by it. If things are repeated too many times, we start to believe it and it becomes a habit” Simple, elegant wisdom.
@@jonesfredrick94 no he was perfect as he was. If you have mental issue and have to shove jesus down others throat then keep that to self or find mental help.
@@MeelisMatt Sir use your third grade insults for you and your own idiotic surrounding's, I am A Mental health Professional, and I'm thinking by your comment that you need to see someone soon, take care get help
@@MeelisMatt No Sir that has nothing to do with mental health Sir, Christ is the Lord and Savior whether you want to believe it or not,. You should read Romans Chapter 10 and verse 9-11 and see for yourself, don't get left behind,
Nearly every actual fighter disagrees with this. See Cus D’Amato (Mike Tyson’s legendary trainer) on learning how to use fear. Teddy Atlas echoes it along with countless others in the fight game.
I’ve been a fan and went all the way to Seattle and saw his gravesite. I was in lost of words when I was at his gravesite, thanks for being a great human being.
I will never live to see anyone better than Bruce , no one will punch or kick quicker or with more power . However , the older I become , I have learned that his thoughts and words are just as strong and powerful as his hands and feet . Thank you Mr Lee for being you .
@Zeek Banistor No Zeek, you simply did not grasp the totality of what Bruce meant by that. As a very young man, the understanding, analytical intelligence, along with self-awareness structuring "All knowledge means self-knowledge" is very profound and deep. Therefore, to say you know something, to really know yourself you know it, deep within, is knowing that you sought, practiced and applied the knowledge. That's what amazed him. And is no small observation. Deep minds shaped the century. Bruce was one of them.
Bruce Lee inspired us to fully realize our individual potential. The man was so far ahead of his time the older I get the more I appreciate him. Amazing man and genuine legend.
The most charismatic human being! I can listen and watch in him for hours and never get board! He just jumps off the screen when watching any of his movies! Fantastic interview!
He is totally right when he talks about the inflexibility of "style". Martial arts have stoped being art with the approach of technique over fluidity. Such techniques could never have come about if there was no fluidity and experimentation. A true modern case of this is Eddie Bravo in BJJ breaking the traditional, experimenting and creating his own "style". This of course made some people who are too rigid (some of the Gracie family) to view him of a heretic to the "art" but the results he had in competition speak for itself.
@ray h. Imagine the influence Bruce would of had on Jimi if they were to get together. Imagine seeing on the credits on Bruce's films, "Music by Jimi Hendrix". You blew my mind with your first comment. I'd bring back family that have passed, but, they know and we know that we shall meet again. As Jimi said, "I didn't mean to take you up all your sweet time I'll give it right back to you one of these days I said, I didn't mean to take you up all your sweet time I'll give it right back to you one of these days And if I don't meet you no more in this world Then I'll, I'll meet you in the next one And don't be late, don't be late"
Hmm...but if you might permit me, how about ME? And now, I must unfortunately adjourn this site. I have another upcoming night between the living and the dead, to look for more unaware victims to suck blood from...like vintage wine. Hohoho!
@@Julian2Sounds THANK YOU WU WEI I ALWAYS HAD THE SAME BELIEVE IF THESE TWO WOULD OF MET WHAT HAVE MIGHT HAVE BEEN BUT THEY ARE TOGETHER NOW I HOPE I WILL MEET THEM SOON AND DON"T BE LATE 🐲☯️🐉🎸🔊🙏
EVERYBODY WHO MET BRUCE LEE IN FILM OR IN LIFE… YOU HAVE BEEN BLESSED… I MYSELF WOULD HAVE GIVEN ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO MEET THE LEGEND BRUCE LEE… WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU
He was about to continue on that last point then the interviewer said "Bruce Lee, thank you". If only they know he would die months later + he would go on to become the greatest martial artist that ever lived, they would have let the man speak for 5 more hours. This interview is priceless. Thanks for uploading
7:30 I have never heard an actor speak this way about a character, about making an acting choice. Phenomenal. This is proof that only through self-exploration - deep self-exploration - may we be distinguished in our art.
Bruce Lee was my first crush and Bob Marley was my second. To look and to listen to these men... explains the attraction. Beautiful and Brilliant. Thanks for posting. 😍
They both have moon in Scorpio like myself & I love the placement. Not to boast but it makes us really deep, intense & intellectual beings attracting ppl to us effortlessly 😌 much love & light ☮️
Man who are confident with temselfs and will speak a mind in a similar philosophical way as Bruce will be considered by woman as a weak man. This is the reason that modern man dont open themselfs. Woman will shame them for what they say.
People in China start saying that Bruce Lee was just a hype, they're just jealous, jealous someone who can achieve things that they can never did, therefore they trying to talk down the one they jealous.
he is truly extra ordinary human being... Now, I've realized how and why Bruce is still in people's heart and mind. He will live with us forever because of he being not just a simple God Father of Martial Arts but because of he being so different with others.
Bruce Lee painted this planet with his talent, personality, charisma and love of good people!! and the planet was and is better off for his presence.Love And Peace Man x
Imagine if he would hav been around in the 80s 90s and now gee he would have been in high demand all his life and be very rich now also always improving his martial arts .wat a unbelievable ledgend.
@@shapursasan9019 like him being alive today? I can only imagine!!! We sure could use some positive inspiration and unity☮ In my opinion, being our authentic self (we must first know ourselves) and expressing creatively would then create happier, better humans.
Been a fan since 1973, the world had never seen anything like Bruce Lee and he remains in a class of his own. Amazing individual with exceptional skills that were earned through hard work and dedication.
+fatbeer85 you can also find lots of info on BruceLeeLives online. Interviews with stuntmen, etc. who saw him in action.... such as sparring with Thai boxing champ, or (this from his sister in law) when he flattened four guys in seconds when they hassled him, before he got super famous...
The more i listen to Bruce talk, the more i realize he sounds stoned :) Just the way he expresses himself verbally, and the weight he puts into every sentence, like how you'd talk when stoned. You get a sense of his world and where he's coming from..
Thanks for the upload! My dad is Ted Thomas and I just played the interview for him and it brought back a lot of memories, was a really nice touching moment. Really means a lot
THE FIRST TIME I SAW BRUCE ON TV, I FELL I LOVE WITH HIS MOVIES. A CO- WORKER AND I WERE TALKING ABOUT MEDITATION. SHW MENTIONED BRUCE LEE. I WAS AND STILL LOOKING FOR VIDEOS OF BRUCE LEE REGARDING MEDITATION. LISTENING TO THIS VIDEO LETS ME KNOW THAT BRUCE LEE WAS VERY WISE. I KNOW HE HAD TO BE DOING SOME TYPE OF MEDITATION IN HIS LIFE THAT ALLOWED HIM TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT HE DID IN LEFE. BLESS HIS SOLE AND HIS FAMILY😀-MICHIGAN
I would love to sit down and talk about anything with him. he has such a deep understanding about the simple things in life. I wonder how he spoke when he was drunk if ever lol
Lol Bruce could not hold down any drinks. He was not a drinker seriously he couldn’t drink wine even. So he got high which made him feel not so lonely when fitting in with Hollywood celebrity’s. Steve McQueen introduced weed to Bruce btw
No matter how many times I listen to the interview and this one in particular I always learn something different. Bruce Lee would have been the one person in history I’d love to have a talk with or lesson/lecture from he has so much knowledge aka self knowledge which are new ways to understand yourself from a new perspective
Bruce was a lot smarter than he's given credit for. The man was a greater philosopher than fighter and he was possibly the best fighter ever so that says a lot
@ray h. What about the sex scene? They were talking about it here. When bruce decided he would get revenge,he went over to have sex with a prostitute. This is not the one that showed her boobs to Bruce because she was already dead at that point
he spoke the truth . he knew his role within our universe. his practices and philosophies would help the human race progress in to the last stage of evolution ,from the animal realm to spiritual beings capable Anything the mind can think of.this is a big threat to western ideology and he knew that ........
Atum 777 in other words from the animal instinct of fight or flight to the more spiritual instinct of learning or understanding is as simple of an explanation without getting into details
Atum 777 Look For God actively with an open mind and Heart Not Caring where you may be led to As long as it is the TRUTH. You Can’t get more Spiritual than if you have found the TRUTH And accepted it. Right?
I'm glad he actually let him talk unlike the other one Pierre Burton(forgive me spelling). Bruce Lee lived well. He was firm in what he believed and he wasn't blinded by fame.
Bruce Lee (李小龙) is so original and wise! A real human being. I wished he lived longer and applied himself to non-martial art themes of life, which I believe he would have.
I am so thankful that the Lee family shares Bruce Lee life and memories with us . I have settled far too many points of views about His concept that you would think that I had a chance to be in his presence. But I never got the pleasure, but that doesn't mean I wasn't able to absorb the essence of his spirit. I am so thankful for all that share their moments. Cause it helps me with the void of meetings my inspiration of evolving. Which has helped me and carried me all my life.
His words on one being a “star” was amazing, totally agree with him calling it an illusion. Indeed, ahead of his time. A lot of “stars” nowadays are still brainwashed and backwards compared to him.
well, yes and no. Bruce wasn't a monk. He enjoyed nice clothes, an expensive car and a nice house. All the trappings of fame. Yes, he constantly read philosophy and was always trying to better himself. Interesting, he did have a bad temper though.
Goosebumps. Awakening insights. Sudden enlightenment. Close your eyes and feel every word Bruce says. Feel the energy flowing within and realize his way of truth. Now it is up to us to apply his teachings and take action. Thank you, Bruce Lee. Your life and philosophy will always be rememebered and will resonate to the next generations to come.
Thanks for posting….really great to “hear” Bruce explain his philosophy …almost feels like he’s still here! Been a fan since I was 11… even still aged 62! ✌️👏🙏☯️
I never looked at it like that man you're right that's true. it's also kind of like saying to me at least that only Bruce Lee could defeat Bruce Lee no one else can but himself thank you for the insight and I appreciate it
I'm sure his wife could tell you a more darker side to his personality, But that goes for all of us, I just find this guy an inspiration, The shear workload this guy undertook in his short life,is unmatched by any other Icon.I think the word Legend, really does apply to this guy.
Wow bruce lee the way you talk explain and everything is very clever..your amazing I agree because of that style a lot of people is separated they’re not united just like different religions.know a days
8:40 that is what a lot of people actually ask. When talking about Bruce Lee people ask themselves or each other what would Bruce Lee have done if he would not have passed away. Rest peacefully Sensei Lee 7/20/21
"All knowledge is self knowledge." Interesting. When I studied Tae Kwon Do under Master Sun, I came to the conclusion that the kup awarded during testing was a measure of how well you understood yourself, not the karate, and that masters were masters because they had mastered themselves.
I absolutely love this guy i just wished i had been around in his time he was such a breath of fresh air a fountain of knowledge may he keep resting easy
