This version is excellent except for the background vocals. Bruce should have done this himself.

The Ya Yas version is an ass kicking one-off and was pretty much a religious experience for me. It still does it for me whenever I spin it. Having said that, I've seen Bruce live and I've seen the Stones live. I've seen them both do this song. Bruce's was better. Way better, and that's just a plain fact. I don't know if you've ever been to a Springsteen concert, but "Lame" is an adjective that NEVER applies at those shows.

@@stephensuddick274 he's thinking the Stones 60s recording is what the Stones sounded like in concert. That's why I liked Bruce. Except for a handful of songs, all his work came alive when you saw him perform. Stones were a studio band at their best.
