Bruce Springsteen made an appearance on January 18, 2020, at the annual charity concert "Light of Day," held in Asbury Park to raise funds in the fight against Parkinson's disease.
At the Paramount Theater in New Jersey, the 70-year-old musician joined a lineup that included friends such as Dramarama, Jesse Malin, The Weeklings, James Maddock, Joe D'Urso, Willie Nile, and Joe Grushecky.
Songs like 'Pink Cadillac,' 'Savin' Up,' and the titular 'Light of Day' filled the stage with musicians. The finale was 'Thunder Road' with Springsteen on vocals and acoustic guitar accompanied by Grushecky's keyboardist: a moment of magic that can only happen in New Jersey.

A great poet or songwriter is able to say the things that we all feel but are not able to express. Springsteen is one of those who can. People will be singing, covering , listening to his music a century from now. That is if the world is still here a century from now. Hope springs eternal. Thanks Boss.

My husband passed in 8/2020....he was originally from NJ, & a huge Bruce (The Boss) fan . As difficult as it is for me to listen to his music 😢 it's amazing in so many ways. ❤❤ So many beautiful memories!! Thank you Bruce!!

This was a fundraiser to raise money to fight 3 of the worst diseases that can afflict a human being and for the man sitting down on the right (Bob) who obviously has one of these horrible conditions. My gratitude and appreciation of Bruce Springsteen just continues to grow. We are blessed by his being and its expression.

I LOVE TO DEATH when I see Bruce doing these good deeds... he doesn't do it to be acknowledged, but he does it because he believes these are the right things to do. Period. We can go back to old concerts of his and listen to the words he used to say when introducing a song or simply share thoughts that had such an importance socially-wise... and so, to see him doing this kind of deed, in his state, in Asbury Park where he essentially grew up musically, it is simply something normal for him. This is Bruce, and that's why I love him!!!

I always thought of Bruce as a storytelling folk singer using rock as his form of expression. This version of this song shows his roots. Wonderful.

I saw 👀 Bruce in 1974 at the Camden Country College in south jersey admission price $ 3.00 general admission he was playing Asbury Park songs the venue held about 2000 people

Saw him sing this at the DAR Construction Hall in March 1975…his second appearance in DC. His first was at the Childe Herald on DuPont Circle…a bar that maybe sat 50 people…that was in the Fall of 74.

Great video. Joe Grushecky and Nick Cave are part of the jam. I grew up with Bruce's albums and every time that I listen to some of his songs I get emotional and then I get stronger, thinking to my youth and those rock and roll dreams I made because of him and his guitar. ❤
