How could you not say you're friends with this Joker? I felt very sorry for this Joker and wasn't going to give up on him. I really wish there was a way to save him from himself.
I could never hate John, throughout my playthrough........i see him as someone who is lost and needs a place and friend in the world. It's just something about him.......
At first I was skeptical at the idea of the Joker knowing Batman’s secret identity but it worked out perfectly, there’s just something creepy yet mesmerizing about two of the most famous superheroes and villains in history knowing each other on a personal level and also how the Joker won’t tell anyone Batman’s identity so only he has a special connection with him...well done Telltale 👏

Joker has literally known Batman’s identity countless times in the comics. It’s hardly anything new. Anyone “skeptical” of it clearly ain’t the fan they claim to be.

If you already went through the trouble of being friends with him and making all the "good" guys hate you I don't see the point in saying that you never thought of him as a friend
Hornet maybe you just used him to bring Harley in, in episode 4? You have the possibility to sell him out to waller later for catwoman afterall... That was my initial plan use John to arrest Harley and then try to make John face justice for having killed those agents that's why I pretended to trust him, but I didn't think he would have escaped like that.
Calvin Tyler John wasn't innocent he was a member of the pact it's not like he was a attacked for no reason by the agency so self defense or not he needed to face justice for having killed those agents.
When John asked if I was his friend there at the end, I told him I was. And his face/words that followed made me cry. NO GAME MAKES ME CRY BUT YET TELLTALE DID IT WITH THE JOKER?! I HATE TELLTALE FOR THAT, and ya I will buy season 3 like everyone else. LOL
Ya, that got to me too. To be honest, as much as I play video games, Telltale is the only company that can make me cry. Not sure why it is really. I guess i just need to buy a box of tissues whenever I play one of their games lol.
This end was very bad....Would of been better a joker dies to save batman ( as vigilant) or if he dies as villain fighting batman. Than this bad end.ALso would prefer a Joker taking batman place as hero. Whatever but the obvious Joker villain in Asylum obvious end.
And have no more Joker, even though I'd like a sacrifice, I don't want John to die, hero or otherwise, unless he truly does something truly heartbreaking
But... If you make him a vigilante, and say we were friends, Bruce visits John, as Joker is John again by name, and John was very happy to see his best friend visit him
My favorite version of the Joker by far. My heart was breaking the entire time I had to fight him. I took every opportunity I could to be kind and friendly to him throughout the entire playthrough. Fighting back to back with him against the Agency and against Bane was one of the coolest things ever. Really wish there was a way to still be buds with him in the end. At least you get to visit him in Arkham so that's happy. Maybe Bruce brings him coffee and has a chat with him every once in a while.
Theoretically this version of Joker should have never worked, but it did. He became his own iconic version not bound to the success of predecessors. The thing that fascinated me was duality of John Doe and Joker. You know John means well and is genuine in want to help, but at the same time you know something is...off. He's far more dangerous than anyone could ever realize and I think that's what makes a great Joker. Everyone always underestimates the Clown Prince of Crime and treats him like a Joke until they it's too late when they realize he is the most dangerous person in the room
I accidentally didn't say anything when Joker asked if we are friends, and to be honest, I'm kinda glad I didn't. The ending with Joker looking out of the window, seeing Batman and saying - "Enemies" was kinda fantastic. Especially the fact that it creates that Batman vs Joker dynamic we know from comics, but with different and unique bond. Also, I think it sets up Joker as a villain lot better than in villain play through, because in villain story he was way too insecure. In vigilante though, it's like slow backstory for real Joker. Of course not saying that staying friends is a bad thing, it's a different story and it can be played as such, just saying that as a fanboy, that was really great for my taste.
Finally I thought I was the only one that thought that. I also stayed quite the first time I played the episode and then said we were never friends a second time, to still have that ending. It just feels like the start of the Batman vs Joker rivalry, cause afterall Joker became mad cause he couldn't stand Batman's view of justice to keep even his enemies alive so I find that ending to be more appropriate. And the way Joker sees Batman watching him out of the Asylum's window and Batman gives him a look that says "I will always be here to stop you" and Joker laughing maniacally was a masterpiece ending.
Nero Blitz oh my god i physical cant be mean to that joker in my mind no matter how many people he hurts he will always be john doe a man who made a few bad choices and was screwed by life but found some one who gave him hope
I really hope John comes back in season 3. I was thinking maybe the John Doe cutscenes could be something like a Hannibal Lecter kind of thing, where the main plot of season 3 revolves around a mystery involving an escaped Arkham Asylum patient or corrupted staff member and you visit John through each episode to give you info on this new enemy, and depending on your choices he'll give you the info easily if you remain friends or toy around with you if you became enemies.
I always supported John. It wasn’t easy, but I genuinely saw he _was_ trying, he just had bad friends. So now he’s my friend. And maybe, one day he can be a friend to Gotham too.
"Joker will never forget that." In most, if not all, Episode 5 endings, that notif pops up. It's the key locking closed the infamous rivalry between Joker and Batman. It's so final. It's perfect.
I'm not saying this was the best Joker, but he's definitely one of the most unique iterations. A Joker that didn't necessarily want to be evil and even tried to be good, but he just is because it's his nature.
I said no because I knew that statement would just fuel the rivalry forever and as much as having John as a friend is cool, the rivalry is even more thrilling. It’s the greatest rivalry of all time. I couldn’t stray away from that.
If you don't say anything Batman will just make a angry face and the outcome will be the same as "we were never friends" (it's the ending I chose, since I never felt like John was my friend, he was a criminal Bruce used to get in the Pact and who he tried to save from taking the wrong path his friends followed but he just couldn't. That said I don't think that could qualify him as Bruce's friend)
I feel like the reason John calls him “one messed guy.” Is because John knows that anyone to actually become friends with someone as crazy and different as him no matter how sick and demented he truly is, made that one friend just as crazy as him.
When you think about it, Season 3 Episode 1 (Assuming it happens and it focuses on Joker again) would have four possible stories because of the endings with both Jokers discussing whether or not you considered him a friend.
What do you mean? at best it would be three. One with Joker as a Vigilante still (Assuming he doesn't go mad regardless) other as Joker who becomes full-on Villain after you confessing you were never his friend and finally the Villain one. That is assuming Vigilante-Turned-Villain and Villain Joker wouldn't be basically the same or that Joker is still evil no matter what and the only thing that changes are his reactions.
I mean as in because in both ones you can confess if you ever considered him a friend or not. I see it as, starting with Vigilante, that say you chose the option of saying you did consider him a friend then he'd probably still love you (Unconditionally), evidenced by the after credits ending where Bruce visits him in the asylum and he's happy about it. But if you chose the option where you say you didn't consider a friend he'd turn into a villain, but still retain some good traits I suppose. I don't know how to expand on what might happen. With the Villain Joker though it much more easier to expand on because if you told him you "Had some good times" he might be more visibly conflicted next episode/season when it comes to dealing with Bruce/Batman. Whereas if you told him no you never considered him a friend he could be more aggressive or less caring when it comes to dealing with Bruce/Batman. Joker/John is such an amazing character so many possibilities.
Actually season 3 will have 0 possible stories one were telltale is cancelled and we will never have a third season and the other possibilities are the same as the first one
Ifeel like this game brings out the perfect immersion on how we should have the batman's feelings, we all want to save john, just as batman wants to save the joker, but we all kow it's too late, he's lost forever. Even then, we don't want to believe he's a lost cause.
you know what keeps me thinking every night, while a tear drips down my face? that we will all be forgotten one day, as generations pass you will be less popular, and then nobody will know you, not even your future family. you will be dead knowing that the world forgot about your existence and nobody will ever know you on your home planet as you gaze back wondering if someone would look at your grave, but nobody would bother to do that because they wouldnt know you.
The only thing I thought was missing from the "I am your friend" path was: I wish that, if you answer that you thought Joker was your friend, you'd frown (maybe have a tear roll down your cheek) and say "Of course. Of course you were my friend. **You still are, Joker.** "

Waller left Gotham as a potential ally I accepted Gordon’s apology I started a romance with Catwomen I told John that I was his friend I gave up Alfred and stayed as Batman I helped Freeze when he needed it I decided to forgive Tiffany I dismissed Harley’s importance Agent Avesta works for me now I stayed Neutral as Batman I supported John as Bruce Wayne Tell me if had similar choices or not
I dont see the point of “we were never friends” as you trusted him in the last episode as a friend of him. Also when he heards it for the first seconds he is more than sad
I was playing this game for the first time and I paused it for TWO MINUTES so I could make food and my sister decided to go on my laptop and destroy my relationship with John I never forgave her
Honestly I really enjoyed the time spent with the pact especially joker even let him get a pic when I was Batman it was so sad when i had to beat him really hurt
George K. If you say never friends you will get the epic ending scene with Batman checking if Joker is secured in his cell in arkham from one of the window and joker looking at him and saying that nothing can keep enemies like them a part and then laughing.
