Daniel Barenboim introduces Bruckner's Symphonies 1 - 3, the inaugural release of his new record label for classical music and thinking ear: peralmusic.com
I would like to hear these performances. Too many bruckner performances are leaden and heavy. Introducing a hint of Wagnerian emotion will be a wonderful experience.
Maestro, thanks eternally for the gifts you are endowing humanity with. About Bruckner, it is interesting to mention that he was an organist, and thus his music has somehow the projection of a master of the king of the instruments. Alas, his output as a composer for the organ is minimal. Evidently his creation remained in the realm of improvisation. I would love to listen Bruckner's symphonies performed on the Chartres organ, which reminds me of your own superb selection of that very instrument in your incomparable recording of Saint-Saëns third, the best ever.
Danny is trying to find Jackie. To tell her something only he could express. His pursuit of Bruckner is very spiritual. However, this latest cycle is a disappointment. The competition, in regards to Beuckner's symphonies is unbelievably tough. If you like Danny, look to his first set with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. His BPO set on Teldec is also very good. The BPO 9th is the best. An unbelievably great performance. I hope Danny finds his peace. He deserves it. PEACE TO ALL. GOOD NIGHT, AND AMEN.
