Just because they wanted a 2024 first pick, they ve got the first pick, got a reasonable return for a goalie who dont want to extend with his new team for now, whatever is the team imo, so that why the return could not be optimal otherwise it would have been very different

Save for draisital next year. Swayman isnt great. Not proven on contract year. All players play better. He had one good series against Toronto. Then after that 4 plus goals a game. He was good sitting with ullmark 40 plus games he be lucky get 22+ wins .
I agree makes me nervous 😬 but at the end of the day there’s only so much money to go around ..he’s great goalie would love to see him stay as Bruin but not at $10 million
No concerns. Saw Swayman talking on the Jimmy Fund and he looked very optimistic. He says he's getting ready for the season working out with team mates. Says things will take care of himself and loves being a Bruin.
well if the rumor going around is true of what he is asking for IMO hell no because he isn't worth 10 mill. A team offering more money to a player doesn't mean they would offer more to trade for them that is absolutely stupid. Look at Linus Ullmark we didn't get Jack for him so to say if we couldn't keep swagman we could possibly get 4 1st round picks is incredibly idiotic.
I think Sweeney deserves some credit here. We’ve seen a lot of GMs cave quickly on goalie and other contracts with Buyer remorse literally happening within one or two years. Sweeney has been able to negotiate some pretty sweet deals over the years which has been able to balance out the Bruins into a contender every year….. well at least give us a good regular season anyway. He’s not caving quick on Swayman which is the right thing to do. He may not draft well and maybe his trades are sometimes suspect, but he sure can negotiate. I trust we’ll get a good deal, if not send sway to a bottom feeder with no defence. Two straight seasons have been ended on a weak sway goal. Sway is much more Tuukka than Timmy T. We have the goalie whisperer in Bob and a great defence so we will be just fine.
Only like 6-7 teams have the picks to offer Swayman a contract the Bruins probably wouldn't match. Jacobs saying they are just working out some details sounded like to me that the sticking points may not be money but term, bonus, or movement clause. I don't think there's much to worry about with Swayman, he'll be signed before training camp.
Problem is, in another poor move by Sweeney, he sent Ullmark packing before signing Swayman. Took all the organization's leverage away and handed it right to Swayman's camp.
