They said the same thing last year, and look how we showed them. We were still a top team even without Bergy and Krejci. We went with depth, it paid off. This year we picked up depth and some key role fillers

The word is “capitulated”. Cah-pitch-you-lay-ted 5:02 As for the Athletic article, that author appears to be ranking his free agency grades based solely on the financial aspect. This is a fair, but narrow way to evaluate UFA signings. He’s not saying that the Bruins chose to pursue bad players. He’s not saying that Lindholm and Zadorov won’t do good things for the Bruins. Instead, he’s making the case that the Bruins paid “too much” for these two players’ services. Frankly, he’s probably correct. It would have been ideal to ink a six-year deal with Lindholm, and a five-year deal with Zadorov. However, teams don’t often receive “ideal” agreements from UFA players on Day 1 of free agency… and if a team balks, there will be another team right there ready to sign that player. This is the cost of doing business with UFA’s in the summer. If there’s strong interest in a player from multiple teams, the price will go up. Did Sweeney overpay? Yes, but not egregiously. We have not yet learned any details about whether or not these two new contracts have no-trade no-movement clauses. Can't really fully evaluate the contracts until we know all that stuff.

Love the signings, definitely got rid of some deadweight and added some size strength and toughness. But if the players aren’t using their size, that’s a coaching problem, not just a player size problem Paul Maurice has his guys running through a wall for him, simply because he’s a great coach and they believe in him

From your lineup you showed too I think they’ll give geekie a look on line 2 and wouldn’t be shocked to see jones play on the 3rd line see what he can do, but I love our lineup so much more than last year, we maybe spent 2 million more than we should have…. Sweeny/Neely did very good job with limited bucks , really like the top Two guys. Don't listen to Bruin-haters in Media or fans. Zadorov is just what the Bruins Def. Needed a shot in the arm of toughness and physicality! Grez. was a semi-tough shrimp. And Carlo is just not tough enough not to mention H.Lindholm -yuck! Too often enemy forwards were standing in front of our goal untouched and our defense standing alone like pylons . McAvoy was the lone bright spot offensively and defensively. Hopefully New defense coach Jay Leach will straighten these guys out. Go Bruins!

Max Jones is a solid 4th line signing & I like what we saw from Brazeau so yeah….the 2 of them together could make some noise. That's great ! 4th line is all set. However I’m more concerned with our Top 6th. Assuming Lindholm centers Pasta & Zacha what’s going on with the 2nd line ? Coyle moving up to center Marchand & Geekie ? Ok….we still need another goal scorer imo. And what are we doing with 3rd line ?

Honestly we’re way better than last year sitting here today, we can sign sway still and if we could somehow make a trade for a winger ideally we would be sitting very pretty, if we did that though now we’re at home run territory, we signed 2 of the best fa available and we got a Bergeron esq player in lindy im happy as a bruins fan and there both still 29 they’ll be marchys age when those contracts are up

The only person who takes crap is Jeremy Jacobs who won't ans never will open the vault to let Sweeney build a legit championship contender with key free agent signings. Sweeney would have overpaid to bring Sam Reinhart to Bostom. Why wouldn't he come? He would have teamed up with Pastrnak and this is the Hub of Hockey not the Florida swamp!

@@marclefebvre7071 oh exactly, I mean I like the signings but if ownership would of let him I’m sure he would of thrown 11x8 at reinhart, everyone shits on Sweeney and I’m just over it, he’s one of the top 5 gms in the league, every year our team is a contender and he truly tries to make big moves if he sees we’re a cup contender, but year after year we shoot ourselves in the foot, Sweeney can’t get on the ice and score, we shouldn’t of even been as good as we were last year but we were…, they shit on his signings last year and they all pulled there weight, I guarantee if Boston is a contender by deadline he will add pieces we need. But like you said Jacob’s has handicapped his signings, maybe chirelli caused that who knows but it’s ridiculous.

Z is a 3rd pair.....borderline 2nd pair guy. Too much money and term. Lindholm is a second line centre, who needs stars to be good. Doesnt drive his line. Buyout candidate in 3-4 years.

Perfect fit? Lindholm scored 15 goals in his last 75 games. I don’t get it. Debrusk is more a consistent goal scorer and they could have signed him for a lot less.

@@TheOGSUspect1 Debrusk averaged 0.3 goals per game in 7 seasons. Lindholm averaged 0.27 goals per game over 12 seasons. Debrusk career +/- is +51. Lindholm career +/- is +15. Where is the “way better”?

@@coreysghostglowmask8650 Lindholm only played 26 games out of his entire career for the Canucks. It has almost zero impact on his career stats. So no it’s not a major difference. He’s only scored more than 20 goals in 4 out of 12 seasons. Lindholm didn’t even play much of his career at center he played wing. Ok donkey balls? Go cheer for the WNBA.
