Being Armenian myself, the first thing I noticed in the lyrics is not cheesiness, but rather a naiveness and simplicity, which is very typical of young people. The smoothies thing is trendy in Armenia, it's one of the most common things young people do when they hang out, go on dates, unwind, bla bla, they go for smoothies. Smoothies are ALL OVER the city in the summer, it's a vibe in Yerevan. It also kind of symbolizes the simplicity in romance that she wants. Sitting in cafes for hours, drinking smth, eating, etc is also a popular activity. We don't just go to a cafe to eat and go, we sit there for hours, we hang out with friends there, do business meetings in cafes, work from cafes, young people almost literally live in cafes in Yerevan lol! Cafes in the daytime, clubs in the nighttime. But ya... smoothies are a huge trend in Yerevan right now and have been for a few years, it would be the equivalent of "let's go get Starbucks" for America. Hope this gives some context.
For me the intro represents her tendency to daydream about her future lover. Even something as simple as a smoothie at cafes is enough for her to idealize the person she wants to be with. Once the rap part hits, she even mentions daydreaming with the first lyric and then is seemingly grounded by her anxiety and her efforts to make plans about her life, which in this case could be affected by societal pressure. For example, in conservative environments young people are constantly reminded that they need to find a partner and women especially are expected to marry young and raise children. If I am not mistaken, Armenian culture has similar traits to how the older generations pressure the younger ones in regards to marriage. So there you have it, an interpretation of this Future Lover. It is a case of a young person who wants to escape into their fantasy but is forced to face the reality of their anxiety, which they deal with by a constant endeavor to "be good, do good and look good". Possibly a mantra affirming her feelings and desires . That's why she decides and not decided; this indicates a conscious choice every time she feels she needs to be better and not something that has been done and is concluded. Hope that makes sense and makes you relate to it more. I am really rooting for Brunette and Armenia!!
I think the meaning of the lyrics "Be good do good look good" gets a lot more context after the rap break. Because in the rap section she talks about how she's lonely but restless, how she has unrealistic expectations, no plan, and has panic attacks. She's putting a lot of stress and pressure on herself. But she decides for herself to work on herself, to be good. And it's not like she "decided" to be good, she decides, like as a continuous thing she's constantly working on. Also the part where you were quoting the Nare rap was really cute. XD
The lyrics are simple but deep, the first few lines tell how she will be happy by just doing casual things like 'make art' 'read books' and 'drink smoothes at cafes' and then she tells her future lover that to be actually in love with her and not because she is pretty and attractive, she wants the love they will give her is not to show people but just to show love to love her, and when she raps she says how all this is a daydream she has and not sure if they will come true, also how she is nervous to meet someone she doesn't know, she I'd not sure if they will appreciate her, and like many young people she just wants to 'be good do good and look good' something which has been implanted in us to get a lover you do this do that look pretty look handsome, everyone nowadays wants to get prettier, fitter just so that someone will tell them they are beautiful
After a few days this song seeped into my heart, and I think it is deeper than it might seems at first listen. For me it gives voice to the tension between anxiety and hope, wanting to be free but feeling constrained, and choosing to take care of ourselves even when it is very difficult to do so.
You don’t have to only use words such as “war” “peace” in your song just to sound serious! “Do cute little things, like drink smoothies at near cafés” can say much more than y’all can even imagine

I’ve seen so many reactors’ videos both girls and boys. The way they pay attention to every single detail of the song and explain from their point of view is so interesting. Whereas you didn’t even try to understand what the song would actually mean or how it was written. But that’s fine. It’s not your cup of tea I see ❤️

the lyrics are her daydreaming about her future lover and the things they'll do together and the rap is her inner turmoil about how she presents herself to this person that she's never even met. "Be good, do good, look good" is her trying to be perfect for her future lover and the pressure that puts on herself. This is my #2 right now and i absolutely love it. Slow burn songs are risky at Eurovision since many people don't follow the pre-season and thus won't have that extra time to get into it; staging and performance will be key here because she'll have to "be good, do good, and look good" enough to hook people in just three minutes.

To me the first sentences of the lyrics are actually very cute and deep. Because sometimes the most romantic moments happen while you’re doing the most simple things like drinking smoothies at neat cafes. No, these lyrics are deep. Her outher world / Be good, do good, look good / the superficial (the slow part) collides with her inner world / panic attacs / doubt & lack of direction (the rap part). As a writer (in my own language - not English) I'd say these lyrics are much more clever than most give it credit for. It's almost like a critique of our superficial world. I don’t know if it’s that I’m not a native speaker and so I don’t get so caught up on the small details to the point I get lost in the lyrics but I actually find the overall message to be really simple? The first part are her innocent hopes and dreams for her future relationship, the rap is her fears and anxiety at not being good enough (and perhaps the 3 minutes a reference to the ESC live performance) and the chorus is her resolution: she decides to focus and work on herself to be a good and virtuous person, the best version of herself.
I think in her song she is singing about how simple her dreams are about her future lover and what simple and small wishes she has from her lover to make her happy. The rap is her actual condition and how stressed she is from her past experience. And be good, do good look good is something that after all her stress will restore her physical and emotional health back to normal. I am sure the English is her 3rd language and no one can make fun of someone who is singing in English when it is not her first language. Why is she singing in English, because you wouldn’t understand the song if it would be in Armenian. I can tell she is ver talented young girl who wrote her own song with words and music.
