Not having the guide rails of an elevator go all the way to the top surely is an odd thing to do, but apparently, it does work. At least two other stations in Bonn have elevators with the same system ( • Fries hydraulic glass ... and • Hages hydraulic glass ... ). The trick is that the support frame of the holeless hydraulic system is located below the cab rather than next to it. As a result, deep shaft pits are needed. On the other hand, the top landings show almost no sign of an existing elevator when the cab is not there.
Technical specifications:
Brand: Bruno Haack
Capacity: 600kg / ~1325lbs / 8 people
Type: hydraulic (holeless three-stage)
Year built: 1994
Travel distance: 3 floors / 2 stops
