This song reminds me of Ain't No Stoppin Us Now. It's reminds me of the Quincy Jones and MJ and the Chaka Khan & Rufus of the late 70s. The official feel good song that ended the 70s of feeling good vibe, funk, music, relationships, just hanging out skating & dancing not hurting, killing, or drugs. Way to bring a smile to my face..."Oh My, Oh My"... I love watching you youngsters - your smiles, head boppin'! About time our Asian Brothers got some props! Anderson is Korean & Black. Bruno is Filipino and Puerto Rican. Anderson Paak is amazing -- drumming and singing at the same time is difficult. Bruno is really showcasing Anderson with the Silk Sonic songs which are awesome and something artists of his stature don't readily do. Anderson's talent is freaking awesome but he has not had the exposure Bruno has. Silk Sonic is changing that! Love this video, all the 70's vibe again like their prior video; the bicycle, VW Bug, Bus, and delivery truck, the girls' rollerskates, their outfits, the congas, instruments, and even the fan in the background - all legit 1970s. Skating was HUGE in the 70s!!! Bruno Mars is at his best with the 70's vibe and is extremely detail-oriented when staging his videos and camera work. Did you notice how the camera blurs out Bruno to give Anderson the focus? This song reminds me of the boys in high school in the '70s going to Ocean Beach in San Francisco every day after school and jamming!

I agree about Anderson's smile. I loved his smile on the beer commercial before I even knew who he was. Silk Sonic is going to be responsible for bringing back the roller skating craze. This is my era and I love it!! Silk Sonic rules the R&B world right now! BTW, I don't get J5 as much as I get Earth Wind & Fire and KC/Sunshine Band, funky disco styles..... HEADS UP ALL..... You probably forgot...given COVID, but in Feb 2020 Bruno Mars signed a deal with Disney to make a music themed film. I'm guessing this is a part of the whole eventual film. With LTDO, "intro" and this song, it's telling a story. It's going to be epic.

Tambourine player is the trumpet player and backing vocalist from Bruno's band. As are the rest of the band, they've been with Bruno from the beginning. Don’t know if you guys are familiar with Philly Soul, but the style of this is likened more to that than J-5. If you check MFSB song TSOP, which is also the Soul Train theme, & their other tune, Love Is The Message, you’ll hear similarities with the strings & glockenspiel (orchestra bells). Another group reminiscent is The O’Jays’ songs like, I Love Music & Love Train. Skating got hot comin out of the hustle disco dance era, like 1979 to ‘81. But if you remember in the Michael Jackson Bad video, he had skating in it, which was late ‘80’s. The song from Silk Sonic I believe most like Jackson 5 is Smokin Out the Window, which probably wasn’t out at the time you watched this video. Anyway, great reaction!
I love that you two react to these tracks to differentiate from the incredibly boring and predictable "Hypa Hypa" type metal reaction sphere. Silk Sonic are just so good at nailing this sound perfectly and still making it their thing.
Well, we loved hypa hypa. Haha. But it’s fun to step outside and have a listen to new things and give them a chance. More people should try it! Hopefully we give them a reason to.
