Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak is Silk Sonic. The group was named by Bootsy Collins. The have a live Grammys performance of this song and a tribute to Little Richard.
This is a late 60s - early 70s tribute for sure! You mention New Edition, but this is how soul ballads were done way before the 80s. Songs like "How Time Flies" by The O'Jays, "In the Rain" by The Dramatics, "Reasons" by Earth, Wind & Fire, and "La-La Means I Love You" by The Delfonics laid the groundwork for this song. Bruno and Paak (on drums) listened well! Kudos!
"Can a ballad have bars?" after this song, it does now!!! Super great observation! I had never thought about it that way, and that's a perfect way to put it.
You gotta go back to the 70s.....back when groups like the Chi-Lites, Tavares, the Dramatics, the Moments, the Spinners, the Stylistics, Tower Of Power, etc., dominated the soundtracks.
LOVED your reaction. Makes me smile because I LOVE this song and you totally got it! This will be song of the year at next year's Grammy's. Probably album of the year when they finally drop it.
Watching this reaction was so nice! The way you understood the type of lyrics and instrumentation was just perfect to hear! A great explanation to the song itself! Love to hear more song reactions with your knowledge!
Reminder, listen to their LIVE performance during the recent Grammy awards!! As noted below, Anderson Paak - drums/ vocals.... Silk Sonic- the entire ensemble!!! 🎶🎶
Got to love some Bruno Mars 😍 my friend said he herd on the radio that Bruno has formed a band with these silk sonic so that would be good if he has as they sound awesome together 😃
Yes Anderson paak is that dude by this collab a lot of people may not familiar with anderson but he is getting more mainstream exposure. But you need to dive into his music he brings back the old skool of classic R&B to the millennium
Now you need to react to the live version of leave the door open the Grammys 2021 you wouldn’t believe it actually sounds better than the studio version 🔥
An early reaction for a change. I've heard this song a few times now, still groovy. There's a near A Capella group, they have a drummer, that does Heavy Metal. Their name is Van Canto. If they had a good beat-boxer then it would be true A Capella Metal.
Men of younger generations...this is what real "panty dropping" songs sound like - unlike what I hear in rap music of today. It's time to UP your game fellas...lol. When it comes to sex..."Men are like microwave ovens (Quick to start) and we women are like regular ovens (take time to heat up)". Fellas, if you want to up your game you need to engage our hearts and brains by making us yearn for you, show us you'll cherish what we share with you, and take the time to heat us up with some romancing vision through your sexy words. We are not VISUALLY turned on like you men are. We are turned on through your actions, words, touch. Check out the lyrics and vibe of this song...it brings all those points across!! We women want to run into this room with the door open after hearing BRUNO and ANDERSON paint such a lovely visual of what can be. Everything in the studio is from the 1970s...the furnishings, carpets, colors, disco ball lights, equipment, instruments like the tambourine - even the reel-to-reel shown in the opening...all 70's vibe. The clothes they are wearing including on the girls, even the hairdos - vintage '70s. The "La la la la la" done by Bruno in the chorus and the "Woo Woo Woo" done by Anderson.Paak is a classic 1970's Motown sound as is the fade out of the song at the end. Although I am 63 years old and grew up with what I think was the best music of my generation, the 60's, 70's and 80's, I am still in my 30’s in my mind, heart, and spirit due to this kind of music. This song has such a great vibe!!!!! I sort of feel bad for the younger generations as most of their songs don’t evoke romance, yearning for someone, fantasizing of what could be… I sure am glad young folks are making such great music again and that younger people are getting the chance to listen and appreciate real singing.
