I love this project and I'm thinking of making my own drone as well, I could base it on your drone but I know that your design has a major flaw which is that you NEVER USE ANY PCB structurally... Even though you showed that there's little flex in the drones arms I can clearly see it flexing when you fly it which should be prevented at all times and then there's the issue that if you ever crash the drone, even if it's at a very slow speed I'm absolutely sure that the drone just wouldn't survive that because the PCB is used structurally and how you have the motors mounted to the PCB is questionable to say at least. What I recommend you to change is to try and make your PCB's standardized to fit the 20x20 or 30x30 mounting holes of a standard drone frame and instead of using your PCB structurally I would prefer any cheap standard drone frame and then mount your own designed PCB the normal way which makes your drone much more durable and it will be modular and standardized to be used on pretty much any standard drone frame you can buy everywhere which is a much better option as what you're doing now. I don't think that it would be a hard thing to do to simply change your PCB to a standard 20x20 or 30x30 design that you can mount the normal way... I didn't even mention that when you change your PCB to the 20x20 or 30x30 standard you get the extra benefit of having it soft mounted which is much better for stability.

Nice project, it works really well! I thought two things that could help your project. You could try to solder 2 pcb in a T configuration to make it lighter but stronger. You could also try to make a one hand controller, it can be useful for many things!! Anyway, nice protect!!!!!!!! XD

Hey, try making new drone using brushless motors and little more powerful battery i mean bigger C rating and use some capacitor with battery so board wouldn't reset becouse that is usual problew mith normal quadcopters

Please mention that you need to program the bootloader before using the FTDI pprogrammer to load a sketch. For this a regular ISP header would be nice on the boards. Its the same. as you can find on every genuine Arduino UNO (the 2x3 header). Beginners will fail, because they dont know that.

ı just downloaded MultiWii_2_4. First, it gave java error and ı fixed with changing path but now when I connect the Arduino and press start button Multiwii is closing and it is writing a hs_err_pid text on the director. how can ı solve it?

I made a brushed motor drone as you told in the other tutorial. The body of drone is made with barbeque sticks as mentioned in the previous video. When I apply the throttle the Arduino in the reciever gets reset when I reach half the throttle . Can anyone tell me how to fix it please. Didn't tested the range yet. Can't go outside yet. but usually NRF24 can go pretty far, especially using the power amplified antenna module.

Depends on the particular motor. There could be two problems - the current draw and lift capacity. These MOSFETs are rated only for 2.5A, so if you choose bigger motors, swap them out for larger ones. The bigger problem could be the lift capacity - cheap RC toy motors probably weren't made to spin propellers, so they will be too slow or heavy

I think , dvd bldc can be use as drone motor in other projects . And its driver ic from its pcb could act like esc !!!

A DVD drive motor won't work, it's too heavy and not built for high load like a propeller. If you want to go larger, you'll have to use Hobby-Grade brushless motors made specifically to spin a propeller. This is probably as cheap as it gets. There is a video on youtibe of someone using such a motor on an airplane, but it barely flew

You should use powerful MOSFETs (5amp to 10amp) and a stronger battery with 30C rating

at 14:16 your atMega328p pin probably the A5 got bend. Also please tell that we don't need a radio reciever (made up of atmega328p and nrf01) as was in bigger drone project

You don't need a receiver with NRF24 and a second Arduino. The flight controller gets the signal directly from the nrf24

What motors are you using? 8.5mm (8520) Or 7mm(716) please reply I saw in your part list that you are using 7mm motors. Can i use 8.5mm motors with 65mm propellors without that gear mount?

i have bought and assembled the drone kit but it is not communicating to the MultiWiiConfig java , please help with the procedure . (i have installed correct version of java and tried everything but the drone does'nt connect) can you please check and update the code i think there can be a problem to communicate with the MultiWii (java) GUI.
