I love the Zoeva 227 eye brush too, thanks so much for mentioning it, I feel that nobody talks about Zoeva brushes anymore and they have very good quality and great prices.
Nothing better than waking up on a Sunday to a Mel video about brushes. One of my favorite topics from one of my top 3 you tubers...love your content Mel ❤️💕
I bought a huge set of the Rephr brushes after you mentioned them when they did their Kickstarter. Really love them. They’re my first set of nice brushes.
This is so great for us to refer to, knowing which brushes are your top 10! Thanks for going through the anxiety to bring this to us! Appreciate you!! Sending love and positive energy. 💜💜💜💜💜
I haven’t even watched this yet but I saw the title and I am so excited, I really need to know what brushes I NEED!! I can slowly start adding them to my collection. I recently found you on RU-vid and you are literally one of my favorite RU-vidrs!!! Thank you for all your amazing content!!!!
Hi Mel! I missed watching you! I was sick for a very long time and wasn’t even aware of anything but definitely am better and so excited to catch up! So excited for you modeling for Wayne Goss and his line! How perfect! I truly wish you the very best💕 Your channel has grown so much since I first started watching, and I am thrilled ! Wow! I hope you’re well and happy 💕☺️
Oh! And I’m on a MAD HUNT for those Steve Madden platform shoes! I can’t find them anywhere 😭😭😭 If you happen upon them somewhere, please send me a link 😭🙌🏻❤️
THIS. THIS is the kind of content I've been needing for months now!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! I've been needing to step up my brush game, this is so helpful!
Mel you are my spirit animal 😀 I am in love with the Sonja G. Sky set and my rephr brushes ....the last brush you are listing is my all time favorite for highlights - swoon worthy
I have some brushes that I would like to get more from, but I always rotate them regardless they all do a good job. Regardless I feel that I need more brushes. It’s an obsession. Funny because most of my life I had one set only that I still have. They have been around for almost two decades
Just literally got done using my zoeva 227 for the first time. On my new pat McGrath LoL. Got my first sigmas on the way too. For my first makeup geek shadows! Thank God for our MAILMEN !!
Miss you so much Mel! Miss your voice, your reviews. So many things have come out that I wish I could watch your video on. Most of all I miss your sweet personality and kindness.
Hi Mel, love the eye makeup!!! Great review. Quick question though, is Wayne Goss 18 very similar to any of the repher brushes (1, 15 16)? I have the entire collection. Thanks 😘
Hi Mel 💕. Love your choices and Sonia G is my favorite brush line. I also adore Repher and Esum, I’d like to get a Wayne Goss brush, because I like him so much. Hope you guys are doing well 💕💕
Yep this is really hard to do because I love all of my brushes. That being said, I'd have to pick work horse brushes. foundation: Wayne Goss no. 24S (can also be used for bronzer) bronzer: Real Techniques Duo fiber face brush blush: Wayne Goss no. 14 eyes: Wayne Goss No. 20, Hakuhodo (# is worn off), Rephr 3 cream blush & bronzer: Real Techniques duo fiber contour brush multipurpose: Sonia G Face Pro, rephr 4, Wayne Goss airbrush But I really want all of my brushes LOL
That Rephr pencil brush is so soft and amazing, just received a notice that my other Rephr is in, Wayne and Sonia G brushes are amazing. Stay safe sweetie.🙏🏻💖
Hi Mel I love your video on your 10 best brushes that you would keep I love Sonia kashuk sponges and brushes you can't ever have enough brushes I love to collect Russia's especially crease brushes I love the video I hope you have a wonderful weekend or end of the weekend ❤️❤️ see you in the next video mel much love
I started hoarding MAC brushes when they made the change to synthetic (worst desition MAC has ever made). As a result, I have 6 217s and 6 242s. It is good to see your recomendations and that there are options for these two!
@@melthompson2856 Hey Mel. I am new to your channel and love all your videos. Have you tried the Prestige Cosmetic Brushes. They are similar to Mac's original brushes.
for me Sonia G. rules my Brush Game.. and that's saying a lot, this past year I added over 50 Fude brushes to my collection😍 Her brushes are as Unique n Amazing as the Women who created them!❤️
I adore hakuhodo. It’s chikuhodo’s main competition and I think hakuhodo is better. You can neck out more information I give on both brands on my Instagram elizabethspencer8 and elizabeth spencer on RU-vid
Ski Couture I agree. I can not go back after experiencing her brushes, I just wish the restocks weren’t so far and few in between 😩😭 I’ve been waiting for over 5 mons for a couple of them to restock
I totally agree with the eye brushes, except I don’t have any Zoeva brushes. I love my rephr eye brushes. I also love to use my Omnia gold large crease brush. It’s pretty big, I love that it can give me a gentle wash of color in my transition area!
Mel you look stunning 😘😘 Thanks for this great video, I am inspired to film a similar one but I dont think I could pick just 10 brushes 😅 So glad to see so many of your top 10 were handcrafted Japanese fude brushes. Take good care!
Omg TF new brushes suck- hakuhodo 531 I like the old bronzer brush and the one I recommend - please see my bronzer brush video elizabeth spencer on RU-vid or elizabethspencer8 on insta
Great job Mel, I would not want to have to do that for real either 😳 I could no longer do my makeup without the vegan Rae Morris brushes, Mel, they have rocked my world, you have to try them. 😍
Wayne goss Airbrush is my #1. I can do the whole face using this magic wand! 💫 for the eyes i can not live without Jumbo blender from Sonia G. Mel! You look so beautiful and fresh😍
What a great video idea! This is so helpful for me. I get sooo many brushes in my beauty subscriptions that my counter is filled with cups of brushes. This will really help me whittle them down (The Brush Culling!) and let some go (after the virus of course) and if something is missing, pick it up! PS I LOVE my Wayne Goss brushes, but I don’t have any of his eye brushes!
Would love another version but brushes dedicated to cream products 😀 been trying to figure out best brush for Chanel cream bronzer (the original version).
Girl I have to tell you I rarely make a purchase without going back and watching your review. You’re truly one of my favorites! 💕 I have so many cherished Mel approved purchases!! 🤣 Just bought the Zoeva 227!! It’s 20% off right now!! Omg, I sound like a commercial or a star struck 🤩 fan!! Lol! Oh heck, I’m definitely a star 💫 struck fan!! Anyways, love you!! 💞
i'm like you i hope that never happens and i don't know how long it would take me to narrow down to 10 BUT I CAN tell you that Rephr 03 WOULD be one of them...I have 4 of those LOL Love you! xoxo
Hey Mel right now my Bdellium tools 776 blending brush, my Hank & Henry Nicole brush for adding color to the lid, my Scott Barnes #63 eye winger, Wayne Goss S26, Smith 230, It Cosmetics Heavenly luxe # 4 blush brush. I'm still waiting on my Rephr brushes to come in I ordered 4. So I know I'm going to love those brushes. It says 10 to 12 weeks they should come in mid May. Can't wait.
Would love to see you do a top 10 collector's pieces video...you know the makeup you buy that you'll probably never use but they have pride of place in your collection and you just can't part with them! That would be a fun video!
Your tats. So pretty. Wow ! I didn’t know how much you were covered. Ha ha i am, a tatoo virgin, yup! Ha ha ha. Thanks for running over the brush favs. I want one Sona G’s sooooooo bad. I just love her and it would be amazing to her some from her. And there’s a small one from Wayne But well maybe some day
Omg could you please do the top 10 from each brand or just whichever are your favorites of all favorites please?!? Which is what you mention at the 14:00 mark
Ohmigosh....I had anxiety just listening to you!!! I use much less expensive brushes, but I really enjoy the Japonesque brushes. Especially the powder, face and blush brushes. They are synthetic but so smoothe. I have as many brushes as any You tube creator, sad but true. Don't make chose just 10!!!....LOL. Great video. More like this I'm sure would cause similar anxiety BUT I would watch!
My favorite affordable brush is right now are the colourpop brushes are extremely soft and the BH cosmetics has brushes that are very soft and nice too
Ahahahahaha... as I’m online, buying a backup of my fav Sonia G eye brush... 😂 which I do not need. That Wayne Goss eye set though. Game changer for my hooded eyes. Fun content and you’re so cute and stressed about making choices..
Hey mel? I just bought my 1st full size pat mcgrath pallet and I have 2 of her quads and I am finding them really difficult to work with? Any recommendations? Also I have really runny oily outer corner eyes and cant find anything to keep my makeup from running any recommendations. Love this look please film.
I don't have any luxury brushes lol but I call my hamster Xoie-Zoeva as a nickname and Azelia Badelia- B'Dellium Tools😹 Rephr is catching my attention though, so maybe one day when things are back to normal lol
Got 2 if the Zoeva eye brushes but Wayne's and Sonia G sold out. Probably good thing for me!$$ I really need to throw out alot f brushes. I have a Chanel angled face and eye brush that is literally over 30 years old! I'm loving your Christian Audette lip set by the way!!! 😻
I find this stressful too Mel. I don’t even have 1/3 of your collection. Especially since I can never stick with fave brushes... and , I stupidly have yet to delve into Chikuhodo, Hakuhodo and the Sonia G Sky sets.
Hey Mel, Do you still use the powder brush from La Mer? What brush would you recommend for buffing cream eyeshadows? I can only use cream eyshadow. Thank you very much for sharing and I hope you get a chance to answer my questions.
I just wanted to say that I love your videos they’re very informative. I do have a question though. I am a more mature woman and I have small hooded eyes with nowhere near the lovely I space you have to work with. Wayne Goss is one of my absolute favorites and I was just curious as to why you would prefer some of the other brushes as opposed to all of his brushes for the eye; especially in regard to eyes like mine. I’m trying to find brushes that will work for my specific I issues and I’m so very confused. Any recommendations you could give me to help me make a decision would be greatly appreciated.Thank you so very much and stay safe!
I ❤ this video. Because i love brushes... i would love to see your top ten foundation brushes... i love the wet n wild blending crease brush one of my favs.❤❤
I appreciate this video since I personally haven't seen any recent videos about makeup brushes. Videos on makeup brushes need to be updated since so many are discontinued and changing all the time.
Hi Mel. 😊 Great video! Do you know if the Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer has the same quality as the Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer Rose Golden? The first one is not available in the Sephora online store in my country. Best wishes! ☀️
I bought the BK Beauty foundation brush because you really recommended it and I really love it! All my other foundation brushes are so dense; this one works so much better. I recently bought a whole raft of Rephr brushes, but they're held up in shipping. When I get them, I'll probably love them. :)
Love it. I can't wait for you to have your own brush line set. First one to buy. XOXO. P.S. QUICK QUESTION. IF YOU CAN WEAR A MAKE UP LOOK FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE? WHAT WOULD THAT MAKE UP LOOK BE? I WANNA SEE. HAHAHA
I'm catching up on YT, but I have to say I cannot live without my Wayne Goss 02 for applying ByTerry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder under my eyes. I only have one and I need 8 more.
I get anxiety trying to declutter brushes and I don’t use half of them. I have the Wayne Goss white eyeshadow brush collection but am dying to try Sonia G eye and face brushes - I’m really curious about the Face One for buffing finishing powder but haven’t been able to commit to pay $75 - I know her brushes are worth it - it would help to feel it first.
@@melthompson2856 I've already asked Tom about it a few times, but I guess I have to wait until they release it. 😁 ❤️ 💜 Looking forward to ordering it asap.
In this brush-pocolypse we can keep our sponges right? Please say yes lol. I can do my whole base with a sponge and real techniques blush brush. That blush brush is the real multitasker. It'ss my favorite for blush, but it handles powder and bronzer like a champ too. If I had to start over that would be the first brush I bought FOR SURE. I do my highlight with my sponge and I can't stop. Lol I don't usually do very intricate eye looks because I think my eyes don't carry it well, but my multitasker eye brush is the Sigma E25. I turn it and use it narrow side for precise application and turn it lengthwise to blend. I can also pack on color with it or softly pack shimmer. On the narrow side it is narrow enough for under the lash line. I can flatten it for eye highlight or wet it. Also my Anastasia 7b. I could use it for liner in a pinch, even though it's really firm but I need that spoolie man! I need it for brows and for my lashes in-between coats of mascara. Trying to take it to ten is hard! I'm going bare minimum or full shebang. Being in the middle kinda stresses me out lol.
I have almost 400 brushes I have well over 150 Morphy brushes I have everything from the fall Wayne Goss the full Tom for the full Sonia G I have a Hukahodo chikuhodo I have Marc Jacobs Bobby Brown Mac Kevin Aucoin you name the brand I got it- I couldn’t even narrow it down to my top 50!
Thanks for this informative video. Would love to know which Tom Ford brush you use for your nose and your favorite product to use for nose contouring. Thanks!
It’s the 11 ❤️ I use the natural version the most. They have gone synthetic but I still use that one too. I just don’t think it’s worth the price point being synthetic ❤️
I was waiting for the Sonia G Sky face brush set to come back in stock, I wanted it so badly, but now with all what is happening, cannot afford it. :(( I was thinking very hard during your video, which brushes I would pick...I have more expensive brushes, but these ones are the most used for sure: Eyes: Morphe M441 Hakuhodo B J142 Nars 49 Eco Tools Eye Enhancing duo brush (Smudge/Blend) Face: Natasha Denona 17 (blush brush) Sigma Tapered Highlighter F35 Zoeva Powder Polish 107 Huda Beauty Face Bake+Blend Chanel Powder/Contour 02 La Mer Powder
