Well I must say this FT102 is a definite upgrade from the FT009 in all aspects. This is a fast little boat for under a Ben Franklin💲You RC Saylors need a radar gun to clock these boats & add mph times to your reviews Big Plus for RC boat owners, after all RC BOATS MATTER❗ Battery life looks really good I have seen a small amount of water enter these while in reverse & during submarine bouts but the motors claim to be waterproof. For a beginner this boat may be a handful at first but definitely doable & doubt there are any faster & more durable rc boats out there in this price range. The Captain must have shaved his beard with its propeller👍 Another very useful feature J/K🤑 I give this boat a 9 out of 10 in all categories. THIS is my favorite video because it legit was the first one i saw; so it's how i found you guys! i grew up in planes, but found this boat on sale and figured it might be a cool way to get into rc boats- but had no idea if it was "quality" for the price or not... and after a ton of meh reviews, YOURS was the one that really impressed me. A few days later, i watched a few other RC saylors videos and really loved the fact that you guys have an honest and "bang for the buck" mentality about how to get amazing gear without spending tons of money. ive always loved the hidden gems in RC :) and finally, the reason i refer all my RC flying buddies to this channel is because whoever does all the hard work of adding those little buttons, cards, and the VERY WELL THOUGHT-OUT links in the description makes these videos a priceless resource for researching what to buy!! seriously, i know that is some very unsexy, unglamourous work, but it is SO worth it for the viewers, so for that: a thousand thanks :)

Those FT012's are awesome! For sub-$100 you can easily stay with many $150+ boats. Best time I ever had with mine was jumping the surf on a SoCal beach. No kidding Nate, time it right as the wave comes in and you can pop that baby 6-8 feet in the air! With self-righting, who cares how it lands, LOL! 🤣

As a former RC electric boat national champion I'm just informing you a bit about boats. Those fins on each side are actually called turn fins and they keep the boat from spinning out in fast turns either left or right. An offshore model like this one usually has the rudder placed off centre of the hull. If the rudder is mounted on the right side ( looking at the back of the model ) your model will perform really good turning to the right and vice versa. Driving the boat backwards will pump water inside the hull if the drive shaft is made of the flexible type like in most cases ( wheel of Archimedes effect ) and is not recommended for that reason, that's why most boats have no backwards driving feature because it can cause water damage to the electronics if you do. The lipo battery is a completely sealed battery and there is no real issue of it gets wet at all, never had any issues with lipo's getting wet and I've soaked a whole lot of them. Keep up the nice work !

Me and my brother bought two ft010’s new from flea marker for only 25€/per boat. Those boats have brushed motors but they are still plenty fast for our first boats.

Nice boat at a very reasonable price. I prefer silicon grease around the seals to tape but each to their own.

Looks like you are having as much fun as I do with my FT012. Add a CNC prop and a 70mm alloy rudder (both bolt straight on) and it is a great boat. I always tape my hatch with magic tape. Try the FT011 - it's bigger and even more fun with a 438 prop...

Change up the propeller to 35 mm and watch how fast this little boat . It does nice tricks.

I’ve got the exact same boat as this one and it absolutely flys The only thing I don’t like about them is they don’t have a Lipo cut off

I found that the deans connectors corrode after a few uses and stop working. I’ve changed all mine for xt90 connectors. No problems so far. I’ve had mine cut out in the middle of a pond because of the connectors going bad. If you use it a lot I definitely recommend upgrading to xt60 or xt90 connectors.

Timothy Jepson 1 hour ago Hi, I know this is an old vidio. Just wanted to mention I have the Feilun ft012 and a Deerc2104. The Feilun was $84 and got the Deerc on Prime day for $79, $20 off.They are about the same speed but the Deerc seems a bit better made and a bit faster. The cool thing about the Dee is it is completely self rigthing. You can bash it with tight turns at full throttle. Through rough waves and it will keep going. Also has led lights,low battery alarm (works great) and was completly dry after several runs. It also is brightly colored to see from far away. Nice remote also. Could you do a review some time? Love your vids.I think the Deerc is the perfect buget boat.
