This guy started from nothing, he had just a one stringed guitar, some friends and a lot of passion and even now that the web gave him success he stays humble and doesn't forget where he came from. This man is the representation of true and sincere passion for music and loyalty to everyone who was on his side. Nothing but respect
This dude is really a badass, and thats exactly the way how i wanna sing----shouting and yelling to express the true emotion, immerse in own world,i really wanna join this crew. Genius.
I’m a 15 year old British boy, my old Jamaican teacher introduced me to this music, I still listen to it today to remember her, we had such a strong connection. We used to share each other’s cultures and she would bring in Jamaican food and we would talk about things that we were passionate about, I used to go up to her classroom at lunch because my friends would just play football which I wasn’t interested in. It was so incredible to listen to what her life used be like in Kingston and what she used to do everyday she moved to England to study but she left 2 years it’s not been to long but it feels like centuries based on how much time I would spend with her she’s back in Jamaica now, but we couldn’t keep in touch because teachers and students couldn’t share social media but to be honest she was more of a friend than a teacher...
Jamaican singers are some of the most powerful soul singers in my ears. Normaly i need aggressiv music like metal / rap. But i relate with my full heart & soul to every word he spreads. Jamaican guys feel the music in its purest form. Much respect to your country and ur people. Greets from the cold switzerland.
Agreed. There is so much soul and passion in his singing and playing, it very moving. It's funny how such a simple beat and simple notes could invoke so much emotion.
Ben Trolan - My favorite line in the song ! Oh, I FEEL LIKE A KING 🤴, They NEVER let me feel like a CLOWN 🤡,,, So I like to stick around,,, in a HOME AWAY FROM HOME !!! ❤️❤️❤️
Austin Hamilton What does being homeless have to do anything with it? The guy was implying that it was good music and it can touch people. He apparently has some internet fame, which I equate to him most likely not being homeless. And even if he is homeless, he clearly has talent. And I quote my one of my favorite lines ever spoken “... the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.” He may be a victim of poverty, but he isn’t letting that define who he is. He is make the best of what he has. Hey may just be a well off man who likes to live simply, he may just enjoy playing music with a one string guitar. Who knows.
This proves it’s not how much you have, is how much of yourself you put into the song and the intensity in which you sing and play. You felt that because he ment it.. very well done sr. I can’t wait to sit and play a jam with this guy one day. At my home away from home lol
This one hits hard for anybody away from home.. This touches the soul. Love the vocals from the white beard man next to you too.. Great Energy all through.
Legend has it brushy once played a full six string and the planets almost collided while dancing in union to his ryrhmic tunes. Thanks brushy for pulling it back for our safety
I love this so much, you can literally see the passion burning and the love glowing out of every strum and slap out of his ONE STRING GUITAR. The melodic embrace this had on me was beautiful and truly inspiring. Gives me faith in myself and us as a species and just makes me so proud to be a human.
This is one of my favorites. I am on the road all the time, working in the bush away from my wife and kid's for months at a time and it gets lonely. My crew is my family away from my family, and without them, I don't think I could do it. This song speaks to me and picks me up on those days when I feel alone in the middle of nowhere hundreds of miles from civilization.
This proves that feeling is more important than equipment, production and corporate persona, feeling is everything, the man has one string on an old piece of wood and tons of soul, thank you Brushy.
+siggiarabi Then you're not doing it right, focus on the _music_ even though gear is what you make music with. I record with orchestras, NOPE it's not about the gear, one guy made a name for himself using a single string so that overrides the entire history of music. Take 5 strings off your guitar, throw the amp away and maybe you'll attain such greatness
siggiarabi I get it you man, I have a nice amp that I dial my tone into as well, I just mean the principal focus. I guess even more than that I mean no excuses, so we should just do our best with what we have. Nothing wrong with a nice guitar and a nice amp, it’s just not the focus.
Dealt a shitty hand? His father was a succesful reggae musician, he would've had a better life than a lot of other kids growing up in Jamaica around that time.
i mean in all reality its just good quality recording equipment. y'all are just reading into it too much. just because you don't like higher production value music doesn't mean its bad. let people enjoy things (:
