Being a RU-vidr is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of help from Fame - ster of course) will always pay off at the end.

the hardest thing for me is to talk freely to the camera, you're doing a good job sticking to the point without rambling.
@YCImaging
@YCImaging 6 месяцев назад
Scripting! I’m also terrible at talking to the camera lmao. At the end of the video I talked about how that take took me like 6 tries
@TheModernFilmmaker
@TheModernFilmmaker 6 месяцев назад
Try to cut out the rambling in the edit and keep things moving. Over time as you hear yourself condensed down, you will actually start to replicate that in real life. It's similar to how it helps a shooter to edit their own footage in the beginning because in the process they learn how NOT to shoot. They will start shooting a lot less useless footage and the overall quality of shots will rise... Keep on the journey 👊✌️

I gotta try to script so I can make all of the points I want to make known. Nothing like saying some good stuff and then adding something I just thought abiut..... explaining it. And then forgetting g a crucial point and there isn't roo. To insert it..... unless.... I delete the part and make a new one

Good morning. About three weeks ago I restarted my RU-vid journey with a serious goal that I'm working hard towards. And during this time I've seen many videos showing you how to go from “0 to 1000 Subscribers in 30 days” but none of those videos stood out to me as much as yours. Your sincerity and your ability to relate to your audience is refreshing. Just last night I was inspired to start formulating videos charting my journey from a “realistic” perspective and then I woke up and saw this video which is a sign that I'm on the right path. And finally, you may not realize it now but in making this video you did not give your audience just another “How To” video, you gave us an experience and THAT is the ingredient of a GREAT content creator. I pray the best of God's blessing for you my VA neighbor. 🙏🏼✨

Thank you for sharing this, it will help a lot. People often forget that being a RU-vidr is like running a business. You give people what they want, and they reward you with their attention, resulting in income. Of course, it is tough to start and grow to the point you are monetized (but with a little bit of Famester everything is possible. I can't emphasize how much this online tool has helped me).

First, why is he wearing a winter jacket and shorts? 😂 All jokes aside, this video randomly popped up on my RU-vid feed and it's exactly what I needed. I'm a music and sports journalist whose best skill is writing, but all of these media companies (i.e. Pitchfork, Complex, Okayplayer, etc.) are going through major writer layoffs and pivoting to video/social media content. It's not my strength, but I've been trying to buy a camera, get some equipment and pivot my writing into social media. However, I don't want to sound or look like everyone else that's established. I say all of that to say this video was really helpful in giving me the confidence to just try stuff and get going.

12:20 Just looking at this shot makes me realize, that little thing just a square piece of technology can do so much, impact and deliver a certain vision to millions of people. and all it took was for him to have a long tripod and sit on this fence on the side of the road like a crazy person. There truly is no excuses we have everything we need and more to do what we want to do.

I started uploading short videos consistently in summer 2021. I think my channel is at 79k subs because I didn't copy any other channels but were inspired by them and I put my own spin on it. I scoured RU-vid for other RU-vidrs in Detroit and in my niche and there might be just one other channel doing something similar to mine but my channel is unique. It's never too late to start a RU-vid channel in 2024 but it's more saturated than ever and getting your channel to grow is getting more difficult.

I really appreciate that you share the challenges and difficulties of making a video. I watch creators who make the process look so easy, then I feel like a failure when I struggle in front of the camera or fight to complete an edit. Maybe I'm "normal" and not a failure at all. 😂

This video was dope! I appreciate the authenticity and creativity. I started out being here for the RU-vid advice, but you talking thru the BTS was very educational and inspiring. This definitely makes me rethink how i want to show up on RU-vid. Thanks man!

Good take on the copy cat mentality. I think it's important to copy in order to learn, but that you have to copy a bunch of different things, see what works, add it to your arsenal, and then keep leveling up. The straight jump to some low hanging fruit then the desire to stick with it is what is making a ton of mediocre content continue to pop up. I'm happy to see more people trying to stand out and do things differently, but it's really difficult. It's all I want to learn how to do at this point.

Amazing how many unique perspectives and shots you incorporate- also really appreciate you sharing your frustrations in the moment. I can definitely relate to those, but I hardly ever remember to hit record

Man!!!! You don't know how much I needed this video....I hate being in front of the camera but I have been sacrificing it for the sake of making videos. I'm actually more interested in film making than RU-vid creating but this is giving me the opportunity to practice what I'm learning from all my favorite film makers.

🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 This video was everything I needed, I feel a lot of these traits carryover to other platforms (of course you have to change the recipe for their algorithm). This video told me to get out of my head head, set up simple shots if needed and be myself.

My Brother, I so appreciate your demeanor, honesty and your ability. You are pivoting while still, as you said, “ keeping you in it-being who you are.” Also, you’re blessed to be in an area (VA) with the freedom to film in such open and scenic locations. I lived in NVA for many yrs… now in FL! Wow! What a culture shock and Lord knows I miss the change of seasons with those awesome fall colors. Thanks for sharing in a way that’s genuinely helpful and not just showcasing your craft. Stay on the wall…your creativity is still growing. Peace.

Watched all the way to the end. I liked watching you set up your shots. For me, you debunked some long held beliefs about how I can grow my channel. Thank you for this video...I needed it.

Such an intersting style of video. Most of the content upfront and then a behind the scenes section which really elongates the running time. It shouldnt work but it does!
