From the director:
I created this film at the very beginning of my career with no real idea how to make a documentary. I took a camera, a pair of cheap $10 microphones and two sets of floodlights from a hardware store to a bunch of concerts and filmed all my favourite bands at the time.
Although I find it a little hard to watch these days (the format of the edit and the colour grading in particular make absolutely no sense), this film marks the beginning of my professional career in filmmaking and for that reason I celebrate it.
To this day I am still stoked that these incredible bands gave me their time, that Stomp Entertainment helped me get it to market and that the record labels so generously donated music rights from their artists.
It's a pretty tough watch but I hope you (and the bands) find some enjoyment in this film.
Will Gaffney

No Mortal Sin. No Armoured Angel. No Sadistik Exekution. No Alchemist. No Psychrist. No Spear of Longinus, or Vomitor, or Portal, or Destroyer 666, or any other real Aussie heavy bands of note. Just short hair "metal-core" and semi-commercial, JJJ friendly shite. At least there was a Psycroptic mention. Well played! 1/10

Not a single iconic Oz trailblazer band, just new kiddy stuff. So you couldn't learn a single thing about the development of Oz metal. Didn't watch after they listed the bands in the intro.

Yeah, it's almost as if they only chose bands that were successful or something. Crazy!

@@will_gaffney so no metal band in Oz were successful before this era?? How do you measure success, mainstream acceptance and record deal?? That's certainly what some of these bands seemed to be saying from what I saw. Are you that limited in your knowledge you cant think of any earlier metal bands that were successful?

@@404errorpagenotfound.6 I think success is determined by a number of factors, but in this case that would be scale of fanbase, ticket sales and album sales. The majority of these bands tick all three of those boxes and also unquestionably influenced the music and bands that followed them. If you watched it you'd also see that the doco is not a history of metal, but rather a snapshot of the metal and hardcore scenes at the time. Given none of the bands that feature are your cup of tea though, probably not worth the watch.
