If the knife gets into the spinal cord during the triangle, then his motor skills may be disabled enough to make switching hands difficult. It could do enough damage to be a fight ender all together. If not, it will produce a significant amount of shock and give you the advantage.
Sorry. The attacker is totally complicit here. He can easily turn his knife and put it into your back. There's no question to it, the knife fight is the worst. Wihongi knows what he's taking about. If you're going to close the distance, you need to inflict a disabling injury.. all very situation specific. BUT, as demonstrated, once the distance is closed, you are finishing off the enemy.
i really get this man and it's a good technique i believe but if the assailant switches the grip while being triangled he'd shove that shit deep in the head man! so you're gonna need to triangle then quickly trip him down to the floor and maybe armbar kimura or you have plenty of bjj submissions you can use!
Thank young, very much Jared. Really love that self defense. Hope to meet you in 2019. Will be hi in joining PTK UNIVERSITY , later on. Thank you again.
If he defends empty handed, and moves to the ground, even if he's switching hands, his position will change and wouldn't be able to catch it... or will catch it and still do nothing due to being neutralized. Bravo.
Easier said than done. A knife is psychologically imposing. Increases stress quickly. The greater the pressure the sloppier we think, process, and react. Most people back pedal when someone is charging at them with a knife. Need to know other options. Obviously don’t get into a knife situation. But if there’s no choice, have options. Just saying
Well this is usually something to do with someone of similar heights. If someone is significantly taller, you don’t use this technique, you do something else. Also there are other options this leads into. Even against taller opponents. Btw I’m 5’2”.
What about using a Dulo-Dulo or some sort of impact tool, this has to be the best option for good effectness and with less chance of killing the attacker.
A dulo dulo, if you are talking about a palm stick IS STILL A DEADLY WEAPON! Do you think it is not lethal? It has pointy ends and can definitely kill if you stick them in the neck.
Your opponents left arm is FREE! He can pass the knife from his trapped hand to his left hand easily! And then stab stab stab. Nobody fights with knifes nowadays anyway
This is not Pekiti Tersia. This move is reckless and dangerous. The opponent could stab you in the back a thousand times while you got the standing triangle.. Go do a seminar with Ron Balicki on real knife fighting.
