But here’s the breakdown. 20% for the product 20% for the overhead 20% for Vat 20% for Labour 20% for profit The reality is our staffing works out at 35% So on £5 sale we’d make 5% contribution to head office. So between 25p and 50p to central head office. Out of this we pay corp tax and reinvest a lot of this money. The other option is volume; in reality, most people only visit leisure venues once a year as they like variety. Supermarkets work to lower margin because people spend circa £120 per visit and visit regularly. We get around £3 spend per head on food and it has been as high as £5 ( this includes Babies as we count our customers as they come in)

you are wrong my friend, The two best places I've been a manager at was where we gave more slack on the leash. you have to get the right people though and it works better if the wages are good for the job they are doing.
