As a Moroccan, I salute the Thai boxer. He really deserved the victory. So calm and humble while the Moroccan was agressive and showing all that drama for no reason. I like fighters who show respect to their opponents not those who disrespect them.

There's something so amazing about the composed, relaxed and focused nature of seasoned Thai fighters. The Moroccan was throwing huge bombs at Petchchaiyo and he was just like, "Yep, yep, that's OK. I'll just stick to my game plan." Absolutely awesome.

Yes, you are so right. These Thai fighters are really cool. Always composed, patient and deadly. Truly masters of combat unlike the bloated egos of western boys who think they are better before and after a sound beating. The Thai are superbly conditioned and very strong for their size. They easily punch one or two weight classes above their own. I can imagine that in a real street fight they would be even more dominant than under strict rules.

Most Thai fighters are very humble, because they have been through the real rough training and beating, they know there’s always someone much better and stronger out there. They don’t talk stupid like lots of foreigners who learned Muay Thai and then have no respect for other fighters and think that they are good enough right now. There’s so many loosing to do before becoming the winner.

Always love seeing the Thais fight. They take it nice and slow at the start until they’ve figured out their opponent and then proceed to methodically dismantle them. Their patience and lack of ego indicates a level of mastery thats rarely seen outside of the native Muay Thai scene.

A mastery of an illegal tactic involving a glove to the eye area during a "break" that allowed for a knock down in the 1st. A mastery of zero defensive boxing skills as neither guy even moved their head, trying to avoid, the majority of punches that landed to their faces. Neither one of these guys is what could be stated as "Untouchable" in this fight.

Dude got humbled and Banchamek was even going a bit light on him knowing he was dismantling him .. any red blooded hot head with Petchayo's pedigree would have ended it in the second round easily. but the thai's respect people even when they're getting disrespected .. that type of calm collective aura is what won gives him the edge ..

I love how each fighter learns to adapt as the fight goes on. Kudos to both the coaching and the fighters. I started out hating the Moroccan, but his tenacity won me over. His grit proved that he can be cocky like he is. The Thai is fight experienced. After getting knocked down with punches, he recovered and somehow found a way to effectively keep his opponent from overpowering, him with his punches, and turn the table. Then, although too late, the Moroccan started figuring out his opponent and began to get back into the fight. I can only wonder how a 5 round bout would end. My guess is that it would not end in a decision.

Thai fighters rarely fight with anger nor hatred because of their culture. They fully understand it is a way of life and the business pays for their humble livelihoods. Outside of the ring, you will find no bitter rivalries between these people. Only a deep, mutual respect.
