Definitely make a much larger super fortress with maybe some spread out mini bunkers and fox holes and have endless waves attacking. Like a survival mission until renforcements arrive to relieve them.

well i mean attacking armies usually have artillery or other long range support, so most of the carnage would of been avoided by barraging the defences before attacking.

I had to laugh so much, when he ask: What does the Sign "Minen" means. I am German and it just the same Word for Mines. Thats the absolutly best Weapon of the Fort, cause British Men cant read it and will run into their deaths :D.
If you still look for a name, while keeping in mind that 'Festung' is Fortress in german, I suggest 'Schwarzfels' or 'Blackrock' if translated. Other ideas include 'Eisenfurt' which means Ironford, which would make more sense if it were close to water, 'Brandfeld' or Burn-Field, 'Eisenhau' or Iron Blow/Strike, or maybe just name it Bismark-Something. Native speaker here!^^

DiplexHeated True, there wasn't anything like this in world war 2, but that should limit how "crazy" it gets. I recommend to try to make a fort that you think only Hitler could have dreamed of.

Ivan Lee Maybe, but he started helping them a bit too much at the end when the German had lost most of their heavy weaponry. And he really didn't do any damage control for the Germans except for 3 times. : /
Needs more dakka. Anyway, I'd advise having the biggest guns on an elevated platform from the middle to rear of the base, sort of centered so that they can cover all sides of the base effectively. If at all possible, I'd love to see you build something like a Flak Tower like from Medal of Honor: Airborne's last level. Have it loaded with anti-tank guns and MG nests in the center of the fort, build multiple layers of walls, build a barely visible earth wall in front of the base so that when the British rush over it, it suddenly drops into a ditch where the only ground in front of them is slanted upwards into the faces of MG42s and Quad Flak cannons.
@@paulplichon1421 same. If I had a billion dollars though, I'd build one armed with working replicas of the guns, off in an African or South American country I economically conquered.

Mary Pusineri what are you fighting for then? Unfair or fair. It is obvious they are disadvantaged. I mean look at the battle. All were killed until the Churchills came in.
I don't know if post the base, but if you want to build one like it, I'm pretty sure he used the fortification asset pack to build it. Just look it up on the workshop, it is very useful if you want to build a base.

when attacking a heavily entrenched position which i think that qualifies. the attacker should out number the defender 10 to 1 at lest not the other way around
Not always the case, lots of famous examples of outnumbered attackers successfully neutralizing a defensive position. Though not always from the front like this...
Ivan Lee, Yea It would've tore the fort to pieces if there was enough. The shells would most likely hit the guns or the men not doing anything, allowing less men to re-crew the guns leading to a easier attack.
Pretty sure 88s or 75s could outrange mortars several times over versus ground targets so at a minimum you'd call in artillery for softening and then again for suppression while you advance. If you are close enough to lay eyes on you find a damned radio, not march all your assets into the meat grinder.

Exposed 88 flak guns? But you got the paks in the cover, which cant manouvre as good as the 88's? Exposed Tiger flank on to approaches!? In reality, forts would not be as compact; can this game not spread stuff out some?
For 1 There are 6 Flak 88s so before they can target the guns they will get killed by one of the other flaks paks or Anti-Tank infantry and also the Tiger is obviously in maintenance as it’s transmission is probably damaged and when the attack came all the Germans rushed to the defenses is a Story explanation

You should add air planes to airstrike the bases before attacks, that's what the wars would usually have sometimes, also add some attacker artillery. It would be nice to see what a balanced attack and defence could do.

Lots of air burst artillery would take out all the flak guns, Pak 88, infantry behind the sandbags and mortars. A small static emplacement like that “super fortress” would be toast and probably not even take out any of the attackers. Throw in a bunch of smoke shells too and those Brit infantry would be all over that fort.

If you'd ask me i'd call it "Wilhelmsfeste", translates into "Fort Wilhelm", named after Emperor Wilhelm II. from Prussia. The germans did that a lot in World War 2, naming stuff after previous famous german/prussian people. (Siegfriedlinie or the Battleship Bismark as probably the best known examples)

Name it: "Spitzmaus Nest". Spitzmaus is in english shrew, but in german a combination out of sharp/spiky/pointed and mouse. The big german tank was also called Maus^^, why i like this name
