In this video I want to show how I made a Serbian knife from a circular saw.
Dimensions of the finished knife: total length 29 cm, blade length 17 cm, handle - 12 cm, blade width - 11 cm.
To begin with, I mark out the contours of the future knife and carefully cut it out with a grinder. The most important thing in this operation is to prevent overheating of the material!
The weight of the blade without a handle was 500 grams, in order to somehow lighten the whole structure, I decided to drill holes in the handle area! It turned out to be a very difficult task: to drill 20-25 holes, I had to sharpen the drills 30 times and spend three hours.
Undoubtedly, this material has a high-quality heat treatment, so the blade decided not to harden!
I used black walnut on the handle, a beautiful piece of wood!
The knife turned out to be quite weighty, it cannot be said that it is very convenient to work with such a knife, but, definitely, it will make an indelible impression on your guests with its original forms.
With a Serbian knife, you can both chop vegetables, herbs, chop meat, and chop small bones!
Such a knife will be a great helper when you decide to chop a salad, fry meat or cook pilaf in nature!
