Soooo many inaccuracies in this video. It hasn’t got ceramic brakes, those are steel….(ceramics are a rare option) The Electric seats are part of a pack (also makes them heated and a heated steering wheel) HK audio makes the audio much better. Apple car play is standard for from 2018… You say this car has all options, when it’s pretty low spec to be honest. Visibility is great I find, I am a short arse though 😂 Real world weight is more like 1600-1700kg sadly. A cheeky remap makes it even better to drive, 600bhp 575ft lb area. Totally changed the drive in my opinion. The diff calibration actually works better at higher speeds, low speeds it doesn’t lock up as easily. Easier to do high speed drifts but no so good at drifting out of a junction in 1st gear, I generally do in 2nd gear or 3rd gear and it’s happy to lock the diff then. Surprised you say that it doesn’t excite enthusiasts that have driven other cars like it, I’ve come from M3/M4’s and I find the Alfa far better to drive. You need to drive a proper spec’d one 👍 you driven a fairly rough looking low spec one so no wonder you are not particularly excited. The seat bolster wear too 😢
Had mine for 18months and love it. Always liked Alfa though so knew what I was getting into. Though, I’ve not had any major issues at all. A small niggles at first with a pinched vacuum hose, but plain sailing ever since. I do find it won’t spin up the rears in 1st in the dry but if you keep it pinned it will let go in 2nd and get the arse waggling a bit. Very predictable, always seems to point left when it lets go
I own one of these so I will speak from my honest opinion sorry but I’m going to take issue with you on your point that you say the car is too predictable handling wise & you could do with more of a driving experience? Yes the car in A mode is very normal & a great daily however in Race it’s insane & bordering on dangerous even if you’re an experienced driver & even then this car can still bite you up the back side when you’re least expecting it. Honestly don’t like you saying it’s too safe trust me it ain’t you need to be on your A game when in Race or be prepared to end up in a hedge especially if you’re running P Zeros in the damp or wet. Regarding lack of electric seats rubbish sound system & no touch screen or Apple car play this has all been sorted out on the new face lift model that you obviously weren’t driving.
Jesus he was not directing this review at your personal car and telling you its bad 😂😂 Fucking people these days over there cars and defending them. We understand its an Alfa and you feel you must defend the brands bad rep.
@@albrightonthenight not defending owt my friend just telling people this car needs to be treated with caution driving wise because if not it’s a widow maker in my humble opinion each to they’re own & respect to whatever whip you drive ✊
Had mine for 5 months and best car I’ve driven . Makes driving to work a joy . Comfortable and very fast and gets the looks . A must is the milltek exhaust . Never heard anything so sweet when I floor it . A keeper as for the money nothing can touch it .
This is a car that needs some time to get used to. I liked it when i first drove it, now i love it. Btw, the manual seats are just an option thing, i got mine electrically operated. I got blind spot assist cuz the pillars. Also, i got mine tuned to 683hp and is also lowered and running 20” tires. Lovely to drive every time and feels nice that i can be a quite quiet when i want and an absolute hooligan when i want to.
Do some research mate, this is a very basic spec car not “full spec apart from bucket seats”, just from what I can see in the video it doesn’t have electric/heated seats therefore no heated steering wheel and tints… It also doesn’t have Harmon Kardon audio and coloured stitching.
What a Great Review and you sound almost disapointed about how the car was guessing from the figures you thought be a fun car.... Defo need to do more reviews
Why do these people reveiw a car that they know nothing about alfa are a better class than any german out there you dont have to mention bmw or Mercedes us alfisti no better get back in your German car you dont deserve an alfa
Painfully wrong & bad review overall: this is an on old 2017 model since superseded, not without all options and without ceramic brakes. Your criticisms are recycled garbage from others. Why bother? The clickbait thumbnail says it all: very puerile.
Disagree with driving experience. Granted, it's fast in mid to high range because of the turbo lag. But that forces you to push it to experience it, and boy when you do get faster, it's a scary/exciting drive
I care about everything you dont care about apparently. I want a track car that i can drive daily and take to the track. You should get a Red eye since all you want to do is spin..
‘Twin calliper’ at the back is the handbrake. That’s a very low spec version missing loads of options. Certainly in Australia electric, heated seats, premium audio are standard.
This is either an old model or down specced for this market. Later QVs have touch screens as well as the center console knob. Personally, I think touch screens are dangerous, but the market wants what the market wants, or some reviewer will complain the car lacks something we don't need. U.S. spec cars get power seats for driver and passenger, and heated seats front & rear.
I'm a young at heart 47 year old who still likes to get his foot down daily, thanks for this review as you've covered pretty much what I want ie a fast, great handling, good looking car but mainly because all the German rivals are too crashy over poor surfaces in any driving mode.
What a strange review, you criticize it for being stable at speed. What you seem to want is a lot of childish sliding around turns rather than being stable.
Dude my jaguar XE is awesome but has the Exact problem with the brakes. The timing between the downshift and slowly putting pressure on the brake does NOT work out correctly. It's straight up awkward lol
i had a 240i.. in eco mode it felt like it was missing cylinders then in comfort and sport it felt the same to me.. and the automatic just got boring really quickly.. ended up buying a manual 370z
Told a friend of mine that these, great as they are, they would be a stint hit and a shadow of performance benchmark, turns out i was correct, these have gone cold as ice..
He talks about no caring about lap records or 0-60 times and yet if I'm spending £80k of my hard earned money on a car I don't care for a car that I have to wrestle out of a ditch on a snowy winters night because the back end is not twitchy enough. Each to their own with their own £80k.
Nice review but you lost me at driving experince because you say something but your reactions driving it say something else Whant a more " psihotic drive" swich to Race mode or try to swich all seafty measures +sistems off good luck drive safe and responsabil 👍
I can speak from current ownership that reliability isn’t great as you expect with an Alfa, the parts network is atrocious main dealer for anything other than service items/oil filter etc, 60k in and having to change the steering rack at £3000+ fitting, in all amazing car handling is amazing, but pays the price ultimately on being an Alfa and being a nightmare to fix when things go wrong and trust me they will
Owned 8 over 25 years all reliable , its just trendy to say they're unreliable , speaking from actual ownership experience all utterly reliable. True about the useless dealers though.
@@greengrass9572 it’s more of the pain to find parts etc it’s just how unnecessarily difficult to it is to order/find parts the after sales and parts network from alfa is terrible but I suppose being an Italian manufacturer it has that down side compared to other manufactures with readily available parts, that’s the only niggle I have with it really love the car just owning one can come with its challenges
thats the most dilettante take ive heard yet. not so much the impressions but the conclusions drawn. everyone is entitled to their own opinions though, daft and out of context or not. lol
Amazing review I love the Alfa but I think I’ll have much more enjoyment out of the bmw m2c as a daisy what’s your thoughts as you’ve had both to drive.
Really great review Lee. Its an interesting one as i'd choose it over the M-Car BMW's and Audi's right now. Just on exclusivity and just a much prettier thing to look at. I wonder if the roads have a lot to do with it?? I've seen other reviews on the emphasis as a daily driver and they've got rid of them quickly - i think for the same reasons as you put. Just not exciting and didn't ignite that "zing". BUT the reviews i've seen of people driving it on more B-Roads through mountains and in Europe, they've loved them. Would that maybe make much difference? LIke would you take it on a roadtrip to Stelvio on a True Rally? Maybe it would shine because you don't want it to spin out on you there but you can as you seem to show, use all its power effectively. Where as you can't in a c63s or M3 Comp on roads like that cus you would have some brown trouser moments?? Tough one man. Cus it just looks so f**king lovely and makes you want one when you look at the gomping BMW's that are coming out. I'll stick with my M3 and R26 for now, maybe this isn't the "one car that does it all".
@@nessuno5403 Why for simpletons? Should a review not be simple? It's his opinion and its from using the car in every day circumstances. It's not a topgear test. It's not a long term 3 month ownership review. I don't see any harm in talking about a car from the perspective of just jumping in and commenting on what you like and dislike. Simple isn't necessarily bad and certainly not for "simpletons". What would you like from a review?
@@KozyOnCars well, this review isn't a review then. It fails to acknowledge this is the first (2016) Giulia, it is wrong in claiming this car has all options and it otherwise relies on misguided things said by others. It may as well be a parody, and the simpleton part is for anyone who doesn't know any better and considers it a great review.
He's giving his review/opinion of the car. It's not misguided, its his opinion. The lack of information around options and model years. Does not bother me (and likely many others) in the slightest. He's not an automotive journalist and as such i'm not expecting a professional review of the car. I adjusted my expectations based on those facts. I don't go to my child's school art exhibit and judge their paintings on the same qualities and levels as i would judge a Van Gogh. I adjust my expectations. So yes, on that basis, I liked hearing what he thought about jumping in and just driving it. I've seen far poorer reviews and far more impractical ones, by so-called professionals. It amounts to nothing at the end of the day. Its about how it feels to jump in and drive it. So whilst i appreciate every person is entitled to their opinion. Calling anyone a simpleton for simply stating they like a "review" seems to speak more about your character than it does about anything else. Jump into your car and make a review video for us. Better still. Get yourself an Alfa and give us your opinion/review. I'll happily watch it to compare?
@@KozyOnCars you confirming the lack of information *about* (why say "around"... around what, the corner?) options and model years does not bother you, confirms the simpleton status. Because you probably end up accepting that this review or opinion applies to any current shape Giulia (when, since launch, they've been refined and improved) while failing to appreciate (let alone acknowledge after being told) that this car is not as equipped as stated by this RU-vid joker (and I use this term based on you recognising he's no journalist). May be go and wear your shining armour somewhere else in situations in which you lack actual experience and knowledge as well as a proper basis to feel aggrieved about?
I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again! Buy an AUDI, BMW or Mercedes instead!!
Some boi you are? Whatever.. enjoy your M3. Also, how does a what I wrote even remotely have anything to do with being spastic. You don't know what the word means.
