@InTheWoodyard I am going to be near the area. I am a long-time viewer and would love to have a visit. I will be there from 6-26 through 7-1. My name is Josh Baughman. Thanks for the content.
I remember when you guys went to brute force to get Tyler's machine. I could tell then that it is a super nice splitter but seeing it in action tells a bigger story. Nice video.
Good morning Chris. Definitely a two man job with those big rounds. Running those big rounds all day by yourself will make you old faster! Great teamwork👍
I can sympathize with the shoulder issues, Chris. That splitter looks like a real beast. Good to see another high quality, American made splitter on the market. Doing those drop sets with this big ash rounds will really put the muscles on you!
Hey Chris he saved the easy stuff for you. Haha. That one at 14 minute mark split the big on fast. He got some real nice split wood from huge pieces with minimal effort.
Very nice quick powerful splitter. But I would have to chase down and silence that rattle that happens when it's resting between strokes. That would drive me nuts, but it's probably something easy to take care of.
nice machine. its a brute. thanks for sharing. reasonably priced too. love the lift and the cradle. what a teaser....splitting cherry tomorrow....love it. cant wait....lol
Yep...She is a Brute for sure!💪 Very nice unit, Tyler!👍 The cradle sure helps in some cases but seemed to hinder you on positioning some of the small/odd shaped pieces exactly like you wanted at times. Chris my new dump trailer is ready today!🤟
WOW you are right that cradle is nice. The log lift definitely needed slowed down. And I like the lightness of it because I work alone 98 percent of the time. I don't know Chris the cradle might have made this jump ahead of yours or right their with it. great video
Nice job guys. That is a very nice $plitting machine. Big old Ash rounds were really tough splitting. You guys made quick work of it. I don't have access to a splitter like that so noodle in the cradle instead. GNI
Nice video. I am at work Wink Wink 😉 but I did keep my good eye on the video, you thought I was going to type my job 🤣🤣🤣. I did learn me something hey dare Chris. You both held up smaller pieces when resplitting. I have not been doing that. By you doing that you make less waste by not having all those splinters. Now I will try that with our Brute Force 20-24 log lift Autocyvle. Someday Chris I will have to bring to your place. Keep up the great entertainment and training for those of us that pay attention while at our day job. 😀
Nice splitter with some great features but almost $9k! Not for those of us with a limited budget or occasional use. Thanks for showing it off. Back tomorrow. Miss the cats!😮😅😊😊😊😊😊😊
Brute force makes a nice splitter. Agree with you on the features you like.what I don't like is the table rattle. Would mount with nylon washers or spot weld. My head rattles enough 😅
Hi Chris, Nice splitter! But I LOVE MY EASTONMADE 12-22. BTW I heard that some Blithering Idiot Destroying Everything Nationwide is trying to outlaw gas furnaces. That should help the thefirewood biz. Unless they outlaw that too. Shalom/gw
Mr Doyle’s is right about the rattling noise, I would gear up a hydraulic wedge if I own it . I would change the muffler system it very very noisy sound almost bad as bark box on a chainsaw . Chris I didn’t feel your elbow lol . Mtns top firewood 37D contest running hard to hear the Diesel engine splitting in the video. Most off the time diesel have loud noise running unless Jeff elect it out off the video who know in 2023 . U tube like a Rambo movie who know it’s real stuff anymore 😊. 1:05
Chris i love to know what you ideal set up would be for you, as we well know everybody knows what you need 😂😂, maybe do a video on you ideal splitter and machines if money wasn't an option, gotta say I'd be at the 37d with built in conveyer and the box wedge,
Hard question to answer, it depends on your system and what kind of wood you split. And your physical needs. But I have the perfect one for me now...The Eastonmade Ultra.
So you feel your current set up is perfect for your needs, makes sense you don't need a log lift as you have the bench and tractor, i get sick of people telling me how to do it everyone's environment and tools are different, love the channel
My ultra was about $5500 shipped with the optional single wedge. I absolutely love it. I have a fabricator buddy thats going to fab up a log lift for me and then it will be the perfect rig. This brute force would have been exactly what i was looking for, but its a bit pricey. Worth the money though!
I like the concept of the log lift on an Ultra, Two things I wonder about is if the Ultra would be stable enough for a log lift and if it would be in the way limiting use from only one side? 🤔 no free lunch?
@@iffykidmn8170 Andrew Easton said the reason the Ultra doesn't have an log lift is the overall machine is too light. It would be easy to tip over the machine.
We'll see what we come up with, my buddy is confident he can make it work. I only use the machine from one side regardless and rarely move it as I bring the wood to it
I see a lot of comparison videos. It would be nice to see a spec check video. It's hard to believe this is rated for the tonnage stated vs the big box store/ farm supply store rated splitters. I'd love to see someone with a way of testing the amount of force these are actually putting out. What I mean is it seems like this one should be rated much higher than the 25- 30 ton ones I've used.
Great looking splitter. I’d be afraid to try it out though. I’ve only tried one ( box store) that a customer lent to me for a week. I bought one just like it before he picked his up. Maybe another year or two I’ll make it to one of those firewood festivals and try some awesome equipment. About how often are you supposed to change the hydraulic fluid is splitters? Good luck with the BF!! Be careful!! Thanks for the video
Looks like a nice machine but for me the days of getting big wood to spilt are over it’s not worth it on my back so I stick to the smaller wood that I get . 😊
One thing about wood splitters $$$ how many Benjamin’s can you part with. That brute force is a nice machine. How many ton is it rated for. Keep on cutting
It is dual use, isn’t it? It produces firewood and kindlings in one process when it’s in the lowest position. :) And how long the single Wedge is. 12 inch? It’s huge!
So fast gotta watch those fingers closely. Seems like there is a sneaky pinch point with the wide high log cradle if it was grabbed on the side and the wood flared out. Or maybe just looked that way on camera
Being vertically challenged the valve height, along with the bunk height would be an issue when wrestling large rounds, the single wedge position creates a lot of garbage not going completely flat to the beam. Manufacture location, shorter lead time and the log lift are all pluses over the Ultra. IMHO
@@iffykidmn8170 I build most of my equipment. I always find that it's easier to build items a little shorter than build it too tall. Especially on a machine that sits in one place. My buddy uses some of my equipment is taller than me and has long legs so I just but blocks under the frame for him. 3 trailer jacks work well too. I use a rounds table and load it with my tractor so don't have to lift anything heavy.
Have you ever dealt with Italian syperus? Someone wants to give me some. Not sure if it worth the work?how's it burn, smoke, lookz like it has a lot of pitch in it? Ty in advance. GNI
I dont know if it is a camera mic setting. But unlike the ultra, when no log is being pushedni hear a rattling sound. Is it me or have you just figured out to hid it on your ultra when filming?
QUESTION: Like everyone else we have a access to LOTS OF ASH. Once split and dried how many years can a guy store it without it going bad for some reason? I am looking for a LONG TERM storage solution . I transfer it inside a shed for storage before burning it, but will not have enough room for the amount I will have. I am considering maybe a shipping container and stuffing it full of dry wood. Would it keep indefinitely in there or would the fact it would be so enclosed and get pretty hot be a bad thing? Any suggestions for long term storage would be appreciated! :-) Thank you.
I also have access to more ash that I can ever use. It will rot before I can use it all. My solution is to split it and sell it, easier to store money than wood. I bought a band mill thinking that I would cut it and sell the lumber. Too many Amish mills around me for that to work so the mill sits. For long term storage I think I would consider stacking rounds inside or even logs but max diameter of 10" to make sure it dries rather than rots.
Thank you to everyone for the feedback! I do have a hay mow I could also utilize but would be a bit of a pain in the butt. But then again half the fun is the exercise one gets! It would last forever up there the way it sounds...
The horizontal wings need to go lower or higher. Makes too much messy kindling. The control handle really is too high. 4-5 hrs every day will make you a cripple, or at least feel like one! You wanna stay in shape to throw those curves, screwballs, and sliders!! - A cradle could be fabricated fairly easily. Bet Andrew could send you one that's self loading!!
It wouldn't be the You Tube if somebody didn't suggest you spend your money on something. So here goes. Home Town Acres ordered a couple of back woods dump trailers for quads and side x side use. And One eye Custom did a good vid on them also. Tyler might find them very handy. After he gets his splitter paid for.
Irene’s STILL not sleepin well with all the wood you just split, seeing as she has to stack it in that rack!!!, not only that she’s dreading the clean up from the scrap you got left over from this job!, though you could always turn it into kindling!…..
He only peeked at it a few times real quick like. Better than most. I see a lot of younger guys who stop everything for several minutes very often through out the day.
