I was 13 when this came out. I fell in love with rock music when I heard it the first time. Now, all these years later, the lyrics really hit me in my heart. Thank you guys, you’re awesome.

Search RU-vid for him doing this song live from Wembley in 1996. He goes to start singing the first verse and the crowd is singing so loud he just stops and kind of looks around in amazement, looks back at the band like "Are you hearing this?" It's a really cool moment. I forget who said it, but I saw some artist asked how they can handle playing the same songs day after day for 20, 30, even 40 years. He replied that when you're on stage and you look out and you see a sea of people singing words that you wrote, even after years and years, it's something that really affects you. I'm guessing that's how Bryan Adams felt at the concert in 1996, even if it was just 10 years or so after it was released.

A great song, which 'ages' very well, and is not overblown like some 80s power ballads. Another song by BA that is quite like this (although somewhat obscure), is HOME AGAIN - it was only an album track on his 'Into the Fire' album (releasesd in 1987), but nevertheless, very underrated and worth checking out. There appears to be 2 audio files of it on RU-vid.

If you like Bryan Adams, I discovered a great live song recently with him teaming up with Bonnie Raitt called “ Rock Steady”. A real feelgood duet!
