First time I heard them I thought they were remastered with some added studio outages. Sounds that much like the original. Then I read that he doesn’t have the rights to his music. Like many artists are doing he re-recorded them. In his case they are amazing re-recordings. The best redos that were 40 ish years old for some.

Could you explain what this means? How can he re-record them if he doesn’t have the rights? Did he have to pay for the rights to re-record them???

@@mabelmarotta4569 I imagine it's like the case with Taylor Swift having to re-record all her albums? I think the studios only own the "original masters", but if you re-record them on your own dime using your own studio and gear, etc, then you own the new recording. At least that's how I see it.

I think there's been good music post 1980s but it's getting harder and harder to find because what is promoted is mostly trash today!!

So true!@@turbod8035 Much of it seems more like gam chick music. There is a gravitas missing. But you can occasionally find something truly good these days. There seems to be a lack of originality or uniqueness in most of the music today. It is interesting in that you can identify each decade's music from the 1940s up into the 1990s, after that much of it is not very distinct.
