Can I ask a personal question about your gooch and the unpadded saddle? Did you find more or less comfortable? I am really struggling to find a saddle which works for rides over 200km. Just wondering if a hard unpadded saddle is next thing to try. Great video. Well done on another BCM. Thanks.
I was with you in that group for the last bit to Aberdyfi (the yellow one), and I thought I was taking it easy by sleeping for 5 hours until 3am😅 (I was woken up by farting and snoring so didn't miss my alarm) Good job on the video

I'm always amazed how few cyclists use the word "gooch". Monosyllabic, fits our needs perfectly. Went through two outbreaks of cryptosporidiosis when I lived in Bangor. The whole town was making its acquaintance with the eye of a needle for a full week. Definitely best avoided.
Top effort matey. The Bryan Chapman is another one of those rides on my ‘to do’ list. Couldn’t make it this year for various reasons, but will definitely be there next year.
Tried to follow the 'never pedal hard' advice on our 600km/8000D+ from Chartres last weekend. The only problem was that with so many hills ran out of gears a few times ! After 450km walked up quite a few. I was in a group of 6 which helped a lot, we all complained at the same time when we came to yet another hill. Even the 3% were considered steep towards the end and speed was non-existant ! Once the hills were all done we had 50km more or less flat to get back to Chartres with the wind in our backs. Hallelujah ! But nothing's perfect... a deluge hit us and we finished properly soaked !
Impressive amount of sleep Adam! I left with you at 4am but didnt see most of the group after about 5 mins - way too fast for me. Arrived at the sleep control just before 11 - you must have been one of the very few there already asleep - I grabbed 90mins and was gone by 2am, found Wills advice on earplugs most helpful! Great event though and enjoyed your video.
