They do that with everyone. Jericho is billed as 6'1" (same height as me), and having had the chance to meet him after a Fozzy show... he's 5'10" at the very most. And of course they won't stop calling Kane "seven feet tall" when he's 6'8" at the most.

micahfreakinhissong 5'6 somehow became the MINIMUM height for any person to be a "Celebrity." Mysterio used to be billed at 5'4. His REAL height. But they bill him at 5'6. There's a Popstar in Korea who's like 5'2 but is also billed at 5'6 without shoe lifts.

You pretty much add the height of the boots, then tack on 1-2 inches onto that. A lot of smaller guys also use lifts that can boost their height up to a few inches.

Daniel Bryan for me is a big inspiration for me to be a wrestler just cause his height and his size he’s 5’8 185lb and he’s one of the biggest talked about wrestlers, it’s not about size or height end of the day it’s how much work you can put into it and if they see potential in you. I started wrestling training and i’m super excited. I remember i had a one day free training at a wrestling school and gosh it was tough but it made me want to do it more and learn more.

This is great advice for doing anything in life. If you want to make a living at something, work, work, and work at the basics. Figure out what superficial stuff people really care about and incorporate some of it.

Preach Bryan Preach. Pro Wrestling is the hardest sport in the world to make a living in. All do respect to NBA,NFL and MLB they are tough sports but it is not like wrestling were you get drafted to teams with 30 players on it and are seen in college. You have to start from wrestling in backyards and small independent companies then you still have to train each day. On top of that it is a 365 day schedule there is no offseason. I love wrestling but it is the hardest sport in the world in my opinion.

C’mon now, i agree wrestling is a real tough sport, but there are far less people trying to make it in wrestling than in Football, Hockey or NBA, no matter how you twist it but cracking a roster spot in those sports is touhgher than get a break in wrestling, you don’t have to start wrestling at 6 yo to make it, when in most sports you have to train from very young age to even get a chance to make money of it, then you have to keep putting on work every year to get better, just to keep that spot you’ve worked around the clock to earn, and you play against people who are actually trying to hurt you, instead of helping you put on a good performance and be safe

I would have to say that bullriding is the toughest most dangerous sport. Theres no play...no acting with a bull. You dont just wake up as an adult and say you wanna be a bullrider. You start as a kid. Just my opinion

Now this is a perfect way of explaining what it takes to be a Pro Wrestler. I was listening to Jim Cornette's podcast (i love Cornette) and there was this woman (i don't her name) that told a story of when she spoke to a young 15 - 18 year old. She literally took a shit all over his dream and said it's not likely he would make a living. She didn't give any advice, any help, nothing.

Im pretty big guy 6'3" 275. Trying to cut down to about 250-260. But if i ever go through the training to be a pro wrestler i wanna learn the high flying and martial arts styles like jimmy snuka, ricky the dragon, rob van dam, and shinske nakamura. I'm pretty light on my feet for a big guy so i think with enough training and conditioning and heart too I can do it if i put my mind to it.

True to an extend but the whole wrestling side of things only appeal to the smart marks/IWC and although they are the loudest they aren't the majority of wrestling fans. In terms making money, drawing fans and raising TV ratings the Attitude era was the most succesful, WWE went from being a TV show to a mainstream company traded on the New York stock exchange, WWE merchandise sales were an an all time high and saw the rise of 2 of the biggest drawing wrestlers ever (Rock & Austin)

I have taken a few Pro Wrestling classes and I loved it, but I don't think I could dedicate myself to it enough to want to make a living off of it. I want to make a living off of other things, but the world of pro wrestling keeps me enthralled and as I learned about it it made me want to be a "weekend warrior", to be more involved but not to let it become my everything, so I can understand it better. But, hey, I'm also canadian so, guess that's to be expected :P
