I have been performing this song both solo and with bands for maybe 30 years. Bryan is nearly as good as me on this song. In 1964 I starte dat Newcastle University the same day as Bryan. I studied engineering and he 'fine art'. I was performing solo gigs at the uni folk club and some guys asked me to front a student band. I turned them down due to study demands. They asked Bryan instead.
I used to live next door to someone whose uncle’s best man’s nephew ended up marrying a girl whose grandparents lived next door to George Best. George didn’t live there at the time, but still… !!!
Only saw Ferry once in Glasgow once. The only reason I went because Chris was playing . Similarly saw Eagles once . Only reason I went was Joe Walsh was playing . Both of them worth the entry fee
I like Bryan Ferry, but I just don’t see the point of performing a Neil Young song if you can’t make it sound anywhere near as good as the original (which was an absolute classic.)
@@chrisreimer2676 if only being in a band can qualifies someone to comment,…as it happens, I played triangle & tambourine in the school band for 2 years runnng.
@@chrisreimer2676 Yep, & I was pretty good too. Seriously though, can’t you see how idiotic it is to suggest that someone needs to be in a band to know good music when they hear it?
