Let's see if the judge has it going on...the judge in the Alex M trial was a testament to his profession and boy was he competent and confident. There was a Netfix movie about Alex M BEFORE the fair trial he got. I think BK would get a much fairer trial with eyes on the process. Transparency is important for the victims and the public. I would say transparency is even MORE important to the accused. As much as I love watching these cases, I do wonder if we really should be doing this on such a large scale. These are people's lives, not reality tv. It really can interfere with a fair trial. Personally, I don't think anyone's name should be mentioned in the media unless they are convicted. Trials should be recorded, but we shouldn't have access to them until after a person is found guilty. I'm thinking fairness here, not what I personally enjoy. Personally, I love watching these ... But is it right?

What I appreciated about this judge was he asked each party, “what if I court order a list of things you can and cannot say?” I am not so curious about a case that I want to know everything the prosecution and defense have. I don’t want the case compromised or thrown out because someone said too much or were paid to say something. That’s not FOI and it’s not justice for the victims and their families. I don’t need to know that much. I want to watch the trial and watch the case unfold. All defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty by the preponderance of the law. All we need to know is that someone was arrested and when the trial is. I want cameras in the courtroom so I can watch the case and make my own decision and see if a jury agrees. My thoughts and opinions don’t count if I’m not sitting on the jury, but I do enjoy watching the court system work. We can’t decide a defendant is guilty just because the prosecution says so. Trials are won and lost by how well the lawyers did their jobs. The only ones who know true guilt are the ones present at the time of the crime and God. The lawyers only know what they were told and what evidence was collected. It’s a mystery to be solved till the jury and/or judge makes a decision.

It would not be an unfair trial. If anything, the coverage now would be more detrimental. The most important people are the witnesses and the jury members. Which they can be sequestered. They can also not be shown on screen. It has happened before and it will continue again. I think these people don’t want to be caught doing something wrong and the public calling it out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Reporters have a right to be there too and they can then report what happened via newspapers or other media. But we really have no specific right to view the trial via livestream or cameras.

I do believe he is the reason why the gag order was put in place. BK is in custody but deserves a fair trial. It is too serious of a crime to let a possible guilty person walk on a technicality.

The prosecution seems to be sneaky and not forthright with this case - why that is, we don't know. Most of the public feel that there are things going on behind the scene to try and protect certain people or certain aspects which should be considered, such as the rampant drug industry going on in Moscow. It is a DRUG HUB and it was in fact a DRUG HOUSE, where locals, students, Greeks, criminals, etc. were able to buy drugs from a drug dealer. The prosecution seems to be covering by all excusing the two surviving roommates as "victims" when, in fact, they are much more liable to be "suspects" than victims. The Prosecution has done nothing about the late, 8 hour, delay in calling 911, even though it is very clear that these two girls made numerous phone calls, including to their parents who provided them with lawyers prior - hours prior - to anyone phoning 911. Something is very wrong - are these two surviving witnesses above the law as they are from powerhouse families?

I don't understand why they think they should be privy to everything. We never know 100% info before trials. We don't even know kW cause of death for little abby and libby.

We have 2 sides to our justice system. Criminal which is State vs Perpetrators. Civil is person vs person. Divorce court is civil, person suing a company is civil. The attorney for the Gonzalve’s family shouldn’t been allowed to speak in a criminal court, because it’s State vs BK. He can wait his turn and speak all he wants in a civil court. The family right of free speech isn’t being violated, gag orders are put in place to protect that the legal system is fair. BK has the right to a fair trial.

They CAN speak freely which the judge was quick to point out. They've always been allowed. What they want is spicier info - they want their attorney to ask the prosecution for unreleased info they can then take to the media. Right now they can't legally repeat anything about the case their attorney learns from the prosecution.
