Bryan Stevenson has chosen to be a warrior for social justice at the expense of a personal life. He reminds us that despair is not an option. He is a magnificent and inspiring human being.

My experience as an employee at the Lighthouse College Preparatory Academy in Gary, Indiana: It's psychological warfare. I worked at a basically all African American School for years. I was nice to everyone. In fact, I was so nice that I was nice to the point of being obsequious in behavior. Never once did I utilize racial epithets and/or articulate with expletives. Yet, I had to deal with being treated like an outcast. I was excluded from virtually everything. I was mocked, and my race and age were constantly being brought up. Finally, when I replied that I was being discriminated against, I was fired. Mrs. Beasley fired me. And, when I asked her to provide me with a reason why, she smirked and stated that I'm under at-will employment, and that means that she has the right to fire me for any or no reason. Black people want fairness, but when they become the majority, are they fair? I've never been racist in my life, but I was treated horribly there, and I find that to be extremely disconcerting. Prove me wrong! I think there is a war that's being waged against white people! Isn't that racism?

Go see "Just Mercy". It's about how Bryan Stevenson began the Equal Justice Initiative 30 years ago, how the truth prevailed and overcame deep-seated racism, bigotry, and corruption in Alabama. It is refreshing to see a movie about a current living active justice legal system. Kudos to Bryan and his team.

@@guitarttimman I am sorry that you had that experience. If you were mistreated in the workplace then that is unfortunate. The people who mistreated you did not have the power to exclude you from employment, deny you access to healthcare or safe housing. It was an unfortunate isolated incident. It hardly makes a war against you because you were White. There is no comparison. You were able to move on with your life. You didn't wind up spending 20 years in prison because you couldn't find a job and had to steal a loaf of bread. I am sorry that you are mistreated.

Here is what I think about white people's debt to black people. To my knowledge I have never done anything to harm a black person and as a Jew I feel a kinship with black suffering. There is a BUT to this. I have reaped the benefits of all that slaves built. I went to Montgomery with my black friend and boss and will never forget that experience. We were the first visitors that day and so we were able to see everything in quiet without the jabbering of other tourists. Thank you Bryan Stevenson. I still have the canvas bag I bought there with your quote "The opposite of poverty is not wealth. The opposite of poverty is justice" I hope I as an anti-Zionist Jew I will not forget what you and the visit to Montgomery has taught me.

Truth is you won't find any accurate history on Africans. Europeans burned downed libraries and Eurocentric historians pretty much omitted and twisted anything related to Africans. European translators made sure to omit and change records from the Arab travelers. You google some of the African places mentioned in their accounts and google will pull up nothing.
