had a lot of fun doing this - thanks to lord @0dayctf aka ryan montgomery for introducing us, and shawn and team for being such awesome people! hack the planet!
Thank both of you for all of the kind words & it's awesome how it comes full circle. Bryce has been a monumental part of my journey, and so have you Shawn. Much love!🚀
I have to say I completely agree with this. Shawn has been very inspiring and has been an asset to my life especially now as a openly Christian man. Influencing online We really need more men like this in the world and in the public eye.
YTCracker taught me how to overclock my first gaming PC in 2011 over Twitter DMs. It's 2024 and I am now a Systems Administrator for a multistate company. He'll never understand or know the impact he made on me as an individual but he is absolutely my hero!
@@sammyramirez9901 doubtful you’d be able to at this point, you could definitely message them on social media but you’d most likely never get a response. probably thousands of other people trying to do the same thing.
Shawn , who thought that a 52 yr old ex- football fanatic would be watching this instead of packers-lions . we're awake .. thanks for bringing real issues to light . Love the show

Does anyone really believe that our enemies didn’t have their own computer savants hacking US gov sites back then? It’s not like Bryce, a teen at the time was the only teen computer genius in the world. The foreign hackers just didn’t deliberately deface the sites or leave a signature so they could be caught. The government notified the news who covered Bryce’s hack but didn’t want we citizens to know our enemies had done the same probably long before Bryce. The government hates to admit their incompetence after spending billions of tax dollars on “security. “
Hope all had a great Thanksgiving as I was lucky enough to have with my family. Our power grid and government computer systems vulnerabilities, among others, are worrisome. An equal concern for me is the social engineering efforts to aggressively divide our populace as a force multiplier of our enemies. This inhibits political movement and will to address problems regarding the power grid, water supply, natural disaster reaction, etc.
I've never listened to a 6 hour long discussion in my entire life until this one. What an incredible and interesting person. As a security analyst I've heard of YTCracker and some of the things he's done in passing but after this I have a newfound respect for him. Cyber really is filled with some brilliant people.
I must not have listened long enough. 90 min in and bill I've heard is the various crimes he committed with no apologies, no remorse He was a really bad person I hope he changed
His sincere attitude towards being a Dad... I feel the same way! Not money, wealth, fame... Just being a Dad! ❤ Having a relationship with his daughter... Yep! I salute this man... 👏👏👏🖖
I much prefer getting long episodes all in one bite and being able to go thru them at my own pace, rather than having to wait for a new episode every day or two.
i agree, but it gives shawn a better return on investment(higher engagement, monetization). shawn provides such amazing content that ill gladly wait for the next episode if it helps him out. @@eerrrrrrfolks
Course but RU-vid keeps paying less and less every year so they Gota find ways around that to make a living, this ain't a part time gig ya know stretch it out to make more YOLO
I’m driving, shuffling my kiddos from school to Drivers Training, to Basketball… Listening on my earbud. Then I finally stop. I open the video, and I’m dying! Laughing! Completely not expecting that this Hacker Savant would be dressed like Dog Daddy with a mix of a Colombian coke lord. AWESOME. 💯
As someone that works in a 24x7 SOC that defends millions of devices daily, this special hit home for me. Also, the dudes track suit is dope! I think you could pull off that gold track suit really well Shawn! If you want to see how we operate in real time come out to a DEFCON or BlackHat USA conference sometime.
An infant genius, car jacking, drug dealing, hip hopping, cyber hacker..... Well, I'm going to be honest friends I did not see this coming lol. This guy should be the new Dos Equis spokesman (The most interesting man in the world). Absolutely fascinating human. Thanks for the great interview as always Shawn.
Shawn really put a link to reels which people can monetize and make money off of and mention him. He's helping the community and spreading awaresness! I love it!
That's how it started for me, changing code for Doom back in the mid 90s was my start. Now I am pending a scholarship to get all my Cybersecurity certs and stuff through a veteran only scholarship course. I can only hope to be on this man's level when I am done!
So his teenage experience was identical to mine. As soon as my son was born the party was over. 🤦♂️ too bad I wasn’t a computer genius but all in all wouldn’t trade it for anything. Most my friends from then are dead or in jail. Went on to be proud and productive and a great career. For all those in a bad place like he said it’s never too late to start a new you. God bless you all and this channel is an absolute blessing.
I always think that when I watch certain shows just imagine how much people he is locked in with he is a powerful man and prolly doesn’t even realize how powerful he is
There are a million podcasts out there now. This podcast is so successful because of Shawn’s ability to connect to other human beings. The friendship he’s developed with these guys, that are so very different from himself, is a testament to that.
I love his 90s outfit and vernacular. I appreciate a redemption story too. I made lots of bad choices coming up, but as long as you have a good heart and conscience and come out on top you’re solid in my book.
Not spending the day alone per se, but I know many veterans and family who are, they tend to do crazy shit when left alone. I hope that a few people out there that are alone find a great podcast in this show to spend that time with the rest of us in the comments. I'm not doing Turkey day until Saturday so I have the whole day off, this is a pleasant way to spend the day.
@@Ali-lm7uwAnyone who refers to themself as a "software engineer" is almost certainly computer illiterate. Actual people who write code refer to themselves as programmers, coders or, if they're being formal, software developers. Engineers are people who design and/or build hardware, whether computer-related or not. I used to be a DoD contractor and as far as I ever saw, the military does not employ their own programmers. That is all handled by corporate contractors like Lockheed, Boeing, Raytheon/RTX, GD or Northrop.
@@Wren1 I am in the field, Software engineering is also used along with developer, programming, etc. All are just different ways of saying the same thing
@@Ali-lm7uwAs I said, only posers use the term "software engineer". None of the best programmers I have ever known, nor myself, have ever referred to themselves as "engineer".
My second oldest child could read at 2 yrs old and played piano by the time he turned 3! I have 5 sons and they are all bright in different ways! Being a stay at home mom paid off! 👵🏽✌🏾💚
I love how raw this show is. Thanks for sharing your story, Bryce. And thank you Shawn for your curiosity and openness to have conversations with so many interesting individuals. Not a hacker but I'm the same age as Bryce and this interview brings back so many memories of those times hearing the things these guys were doing. Alot of it sounds remedial now but in the mid to late 90s these guys were way ahead of the times. Another great episode and an episode with both Bryce and Ryan would interesting.
This is only episode 85?! I thought you had way more since there are so many bangers. Has to be one of the best guest percentages in almost any podcast.
The 1 thing I love about this show is the diversity of the guest it has opened my own eyes to so many different things & backgrounds of each individual thank u Shawn u keep the regular ones so informed.
I literally can’t even turn on my computer without tech support, and I thought this was fascinating. Thanks for teaching me about things out of my wheelhouse.
It’s interesting how life plays out, I was super creative as a kid, building cities out of cardboard, streets and all. Got into skateboarding at 7 years old and still skate at 32. Heavy into poetry and philosophy, ended up in the graffiti world throughout high school. Now working in the pharmaceutical field and do computer programming as a hobby. Sounds like he had an awesome life thus far.
Aug. 7 I lost a Marine Corps brother to mental health… Idk why I’m posting this but your comments on n mental health hit me hard! Thank you for being you Shawn! Keep fighting the good fight
I’m sorry for your loss. I hope you are doing ok. I know the pain never goes away, but it does fade. Still some days are harder then others and it hurts all over again. So I hope you are taking care of yourself through that. I try to remind myself they would want me to live the best I can as they are no longer here to do so. I hope your good memories give you some comfort. I know no words can heal your pain or loss. But please know in this crazy world this American gal is wishing you comfort and blessings of a better tomorrow. Be well.
This one really hits close to home for me. Such a similar path for the same reasons. Thank you for sharing your story with all the details Bryce and thank you Shawn for yet another awesome interview! If I could have watched all of your interviews when I were young I can't even imagine where my path in life may have taken me. I'm finding so many missing pieces to my lifes puzzle here... I am so grateful!!
I'm soo psyched to find this. I was alone, brother, but I knew that there were others of you, out there in America like me. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
When he was talking about that competition his mom got him into, you could tell that it meant the world to him in that moment. Core memory , that’s got me wanting to go back and be a better son to parents doing their best
Hey man, I think some dude is pretending to be you. He has been messaging me and taking my money promising a laptop a ps5 and gummy bears and shit. I've been agreeing cause I literally thought it was you. He has like a profile with the exact same picture and name and basically I thought it was you.
@goshasoshalskiy6001 what??? I wonder if it's my fb picture. I did get hacked a while back, but I don't use social media so I wonder if he's using my profile. That's my 19 yr old profile I'm 34 now. I'll just delete it like I should have
@@ShawnRyanShow Hey man, much respect for everything you do again. I think some dude is pretending to be you on the Internet and stuff who convinced me he was you and then started taking my money in exchange for a package delivery to Canada. I have no idea if it's you or not or anything but I'm thinking it's a scam. Very sorry for bothering you again.
@@rossdorge7133 I think he was talking about Shawn Ryan, but since it was your comment you got notified. He wasn't talking about you. You didn't get hacked. No worries. ♥
Amazing interview that really opened my eyes further to the fact that the next major war with be fought digitally instead of kinetically. We NEED to bring back manufacturing of critical systems, pharmaceuticals, etc. back to the US ASAP! Great podcast, 5 hours flew by like it was 5 minutes.
Happy Thanksgiving. I am choosing to self-isolate this evening. I am grateful that you care so much for us viewers. Shawn I hope you and your sweet family have had a beautiful Thanksgiving. Love to you all!
Bryce is not only one of the smartest men alive today but one of the most valuable...his brain power can help countries protect themselves as well as the ordinary citizen...what really sticks out to me is his vocabulary..he used a couple words I haven't heard before!! haha but seriously he should be protected at all costs..
Happy Thanksgiving Shawn! I'm eternally thankful for your podcast! Keep up the great work and thank you for everything you've done for our country past, present, and in the future!
This interview is mind blowing deep into the cyber world of hackers love it . Thank you Shawn Ryan Show Team for the Thanksgiving Day special . God bless you all and God bless America .
One of my new favorite episodes. Awesome to hear Ryan again on the show! He needs to come and update us on his new venture! Thanks Shawn and ytcracker for the hours of infotainment.
Shawn__thanks for acknowledging us that are alone on thanksgiving….I made myself a nice meal and now am watching this great video….I’m having pumpkin pie later…I refuse to feel sorry for myself…..
Why are so many people taking about being alone on Thanksgiving in the comments on an OG hacker interview? Weird af but okay… Anyway, amazing interview!
"Being a good dad" man that hits hard and seems to be a common theme through a lot of these interviews. I may not be a world class hacker or a special operator, but I CAN be a good dad and that seems to be what's most important to you and many of your guests.
Dude appreciate this so much, thanksgiving didnt happen once again just my mom and i alone, now im catching this two days after. I watched the edc carry, and other short video introing Bryce, and boom found u posted the whole video! Thank you bigtime
Man what a great interview! I’ve never met YTCracker but feel like I share a lot of the same thinking based on this interview. I listened to the music but never knew who he really was. Hope to meet him one day! Keep up the great work guys!
Frickin outstanding interview. Even though I didn't understand a lot of what he was saying, I'm glad this dude is on our side. Great interview! And thanks for keeping it in 1 part, and not breaking it up into multiple parts.
This man is the epitome of the boss of the digital mafia with his GuccixAdidas tracksuit with the wifebeater under and spearheading the black hat movement
Once again thanks to SRS for having the courage and the intestinal fortitude to bring about the truth and having the unwavering bravery and wisdom to bring light to the darkness. I love you buddy. Fuckin great job dude. Don't ever give up!!!!!
Im very surprised someone actually spoke out about the legion (anonymous). I remember when they took down PlayStation network for 3 months and a handful of people worldwide, mainly the UK, were federally indicted. Thanks for the podcast man, keep doing it with these hackers. I genuinely look up to this guy and Ryan Montgomery. They make Edward Snowden look miniscule tbh. You're not decent hacker if you don't have a throw away laptop on deck ❤💯
I didn't think I was going to listen all 6 hours but was such an interesting just awesome conversation i couldn't stop loved it first time listening to 6 hours of anything but music wish I could give it more than 1 👍 up
wow wow wow being in IT for 25 years. This was the best pod cast I have ever seen! Bryce is no shit he is amazing! Shawn was lost a few times when all the net protocols and ports were mentioned... lol
This guy talking about the old aol days is a description of my childhood. I used to skip school to get in the chats. Trading programs. Throwing shade. Punting people. I forgot all about those days until now.
