Solenoid valve injector for common-rail systems
Precision fuel injection for high performance
The rapidly switched CRI2 solenoid valve injector injects into the cylinder the amount of fuel required for economical combustion, independent of the driving situation. The second-generation high-capacity solenoid valve injectors enable a high degree of freedom when designing the injection characteristic and allow up to ten individual injections per injection cycle.

Solenoid valve injector: Precision from the rail to the combustion chamber
The injector is permanently supplied with fuel from the rail via the high-pressure connection. The injection process is initiated by the control unit via the electrical connection. The return flow quantities arising during the injection process flow back to the tank via the fuel-return line.
Modular design for numerous applications
Solenoid valve injectors made by Bosch are available for pressure levels between 1,600 bar and 2,500 bar. They are highly successful in the market and are used for all on- and off-highway applications in cars up to light duty vehicles. The injectors have a modular construction and can be adapted to the customer's needs. The variants tailor-made for each application scenario differentiate themselves with regard to, for example, lifetime, nozzle design, injector length, and compatibility with different fuels.
Operation of the solenoid valve injector
The rapidly switching CRI2 solenoid valve injector allows short injection intervals which inject into the cylinder the amount of fuel required for economical combustion, independent of the driving situation. Up to ten individual injections are possible per injection cycle. In addition, the injection process can be designed with high flexibility. Using multiple injections, the engine's fuel consumption and CO₂, pollutant, and noise emissions can be reduced.
Optionally, a Needle Closing Sensor can be integrated for system pressures of at least 2,000 bar; this significantly increases the injection accuracy over the service life. The CRI2-16 solenoid valve injector has a ball valve; variants from 1,800 bar allow higher system pressures owing to their pressure-compensated solenoid valve.
