There is even a simpler method to fix this! Place the spring with bottom end over the stud. tap the anker plate in place and hold it in place. take a peace of rope /string and fold it double. hook the middle off the string in the upper hook of the spring. Pull the rope forward untill the hook appears apears a little further then its final position on the ankerplate. tilt the string slightly towards you and release the tention. the hook will fall in it's place on the anker plate. now pull out the string, pulling at one end.

Thanks for the tip! Question, what prevents the tab from popping off the spindle inside the case when the timing cover is installed. My current project is a 1968 lightning where the tab fell off inside the case.
Aaron Riegel if I am understanding this right, the tab that I installed on this video will not come off when the cover is installed because of how close it is. To be honest I have never had one pop off with the cover off. The tie wrap is just a precaution... did this answer your question?
