All sorts of minor work was done to this machine, including a full going over for the carburettor, incorrectly installed air filter put right, front mudguard lowered from being way too high, twisted and loose forks, oil change, valve clearances and much more!
Not the liveliest BSA 250 I have ridden, but it runs well - the gearing may be a bit too high for the soft compression ratio of this machine's engine.

You have a great location to ride a bike Paul. Would love to move to Wales with no neighbours to worry about every time I start a bike up.

Cannot believe that in august 1972 I went over the Mont Blanc top pass (couldn't afford the tunnel toll) on one of these. The distributor kept moving as the clamp thread was stripped so I used a jubilee clip around the base . Finally got back to Paris with worn out brake drum sprocket . Bought a new one from the Triumph dealers who let me have it without paying then , paid later by post . It was pile of crap but I do miss it .

I got a massive shock( not electric) when the the dizzy on my c15 jumped out. There was a big backfire and I got hit in the leg by the dizzy. Fortunately it stayed with the bike dangling by the LT lead I put it back in but couldn’t restart. Pushed it home and then found out it works better 180 degrees out!

Nice work again Paul. Takes me back to running in race engines overnight in North Wales. I bet the owner is pleased.

Thanks, Bill. The owner was happy enough and lives local to me. I am currently doing battle with another BSA A65 - more of that soon!

Strangely I was wondering yesterday how depressing it must be to wake up in the morning and find the metrological types had used your name for a storm, might happen yet. My old C15 never looked that good nor did I every get it running that well, I was 17 in my defence, nice job. Thanks for the welcome excuse to share a lovely run and not have to listen to politicians using the B word.

Love your videos Paul , have a question my tail light wont work brake light does , then with the key off head light works volt meter shows in the negative peg out what do you thinks wrong ?

Hard to say without having the machine to hand, but the tail light fitting itself could be at fault - make sure the spring loaded plate with the two contacts for the bulb is not slewing round slightly when the bulb is twisted home. I have had trouble more than once with that. Otherwise a bad, or wrong connection somewhere.

Possibly, especially if connections are getting crossed somewhere.

Paul you lucky dog...How much would a bike like this sell for? It sounds a bit tired. It still would be a nice bike to bring into Canada.

These go for anything from about £1500 - £3000, depending on condition.
