A stuff sack is a must. The sleeping bag will take up most of the space and if it is a larger bag, then shove your dry clothes in their too so they compact with the bag.
We got down into the low 40s on a rainy day with wind chills. Layering is critical. On that day I doubled my pants, wore a fleece, and wore my rain pants and jacket over the top of it all. There's a good chance you won't need the fleece or rain pants ... but be prepared!
@CARPDM thank you for the prompt reply. I was debating on bolstering my summer bag with a liner and a fleece blanket, but I don't think that will be enough (if I am being honest). I definitely want to be prepared, so please know that I sincerely appreciate your feedback .
@@scottgephart9749 Honestly I'd take a pair of long johns vs the fleece blanket. Unlike Philmont where you worry about weight, volume is your enemy for NT. If it's cold at night, just add a layer to your sleep clothes. Summer weight bag should be enough and bring a ski cap as noted.
