I ran into this guy mike long on sd lakes channel just a minute ago. Lol. Crazy i had to mess with him one guy says he was a terror on tourneys threatening people unscrewing lugnuts on vehicles anybody that would call him out.😞
Thank you Kellen for your in depth investigation. It’s ashamed that this was going on for years. My hope is that our youth that see the videos will be educated on the right and wrongs of sportsmanship and that they understand that one bad apple shouldn’t spoil the whole barrel.
Great show as usual. Really glad yall got Kellen on. And keep looking For Tony Christiansen, Because I’m really interested in hearing more about his story since there’s very little documentation on it, if any.
@@cwatson42785 No way its open to the public. I think you must not only have the correct marketing credentials but you must have a TICKET as not all with correct marketing credentials are able to obtain a ticket (hey, there's only so many that can fit in the building).

i’m very new to fishing. my boyfriend has been fishing his whole life... he told me about this situation. he didn’t know much, so i found the video and this interview and am currently reading the 9 page long article to him. . i’ve been following this and reading and watching all about this. this is fucking insane lol. just nuts. i loved the article. kellan really did a great job! and kudos to using the Way-Back machine! 🤩🤩 Kellan really knew what he was doing. great, great investigative work!
Kellen, after Mike Long "caught" the record bass in Lake Dixon, he submitted the catch for a big bass tournament prize. long had to submit to a polygraph examination in order to prove he had not used any unlawful or improper means to take that bass. Long failed the polygraph and confessed he had broken the rules when taking that record bass. Surprisingly, it does not appear Long was ever disqualified from the BBRC tournament by the tournament organizers who required Long submit to the polygraph. It also appears Long still gets credit for legitimately taking the record bass from Lake Dixon, even though he cheated.
I have a big stuffed bass like that at home but it's a pillow. Oh, and I have that same bloodshot eye thing going on but with both eyes. (Wink) It's not uncommon in Ca.
So, you have just a hook on and you throw out past a fish and jerk it and snag them without them eating the bait. People who have no skills at catching them do that
Trout are basses favorite meal!!! Especially BIG BASS!!! When the trout truck used to come to Lake Casitas the Bass would be waiting in the Marina. It sounds crazy but they learned the sound of the trout truck backing up! As soon as those suckers hit the water I’d watch bass destroying them! I actually caught about a 1 lb trout on trout pole and when I was bringing it in It got eaten by a bass. I caught the bass and it was only about 2lbs. So even bass that aren’t that big can eat good sized trout
badderthanyou no clue but all I kmow is here supposedly got rid of all his fishing equipment and I know for a fact he deleted all social media right after this story broke and hasn't said anything at all.
You deserved every ounce of flack for criticizing motives. Who cares about motive when the article, video and corroboration from former derby partners exposed a fraud? A fraud gone is a fraud gone regardless. If you figured out there was an ax to grind then what? Is Mike Long then exonerated? Use your head.
How about kellen do right and fix the issues he is having with not providing the mechandise his site/forum has sold. Nothing but empty promises..and he bashes Mike Long. As they say don't throw stones in a glass house Kellen.
Since Keller has the tourney records wonder if the 25% win record is in line with bass fishing, in other words say kvd, last time I did the math kvd record which is amazing. Kvd only wins like 3% Is this because of the overall competition ? I mean Mike long they say had no real skills or even casting.

That’s why I no longer have any ambition or interest in fishing tournaments. Not only Long but this guy also. You can go fishing the day after they’re released from a tournament and half the fish you catch have lead in them. And then you got people like this guy sneaking around videotaping trying to write a book! I think I’d rather just enjoy fishing on my day off than deal with all this drama. Does anybody believe he didn’t care anything about it when he’s sitting there going through all this effort and that he didn’t know anything about the show that was coming up?
As A Child I snagged A 3 pounder. Repala minnow. Dorsal fine. What if that was a state record? wow what a battle. Im 56 and I remember that fish. zebco 33 . would it be a record or not allowed to stand?
Mark Whitten There’s a big difference from accidentally snagging a fish and using a setup, MEANT to snag a fish. Then he falsely informs the public what was used to catch the fish. He obviously has no integrity and manipulated the system just for the money

Almost all mike long videos are "recreations" . I was told 15 years ago by someone who fished with him . Mike longs favorite bed lure is a white jig with a treble hook.
Ty Moss Scott Martin doesn’t need click bait. He’s been in the fishing scene his entire life because of his dad and the success he’s had. You don’t think he’s bombarded with questions about mike. Also lots of people who wasn’t in the know respected what long did. Only right that he spoke on it “twice”. Not like he’s getting rich of that. Smh
@@appalachian_restorations229 In the Champlain podcast video he used it as clickbait as he actually had little to say about the mike long situation and demonstrated very little knowledge of it. It was clickbait all the way. He's not above it as a tactic to get views and it wasn't his first time.

True story Guys , i caught dotty in 1997 and let it go . I was 13 years old we were going camping there so i told my mom to take me to wallmart to get a rod . It was really my 1st time fishing i and didnt have a clue what i was doing so i thought i need the strongest line so i got ocean string and wanted the biggest rod and all the jigs and baits but mom just got me the ocean string and the 10$ fishing kit so i went camping there . In the afternoon i stopped by a big tree and there i saw a small what i now know to be a bass by the shore just sitting there i wonderd why it wasnt scared of me so i was throwing a plastic worm with my $10 wallmart rod kit and i focused my eyes on a huge black 3foot shadow behind the small bass in a hole and all of a sudden the dam shadow moved i couldnt wrap my mind on how the rock moved . It wasnt a fckn rock it was the bighest fish ive ever sen in my life . As it moved backwards slowly i threw my worm at it and it breathed it in the worm as it moved its gills with the small hook and i yanked up and in 1second pulled my rod down and broke immidiatly in half and pulled me in the water cuz i didnt know anything about drag and this huge thing was pulling me hard i sliped in the water i was paniking like what did i get my self into this fish is taking my pole my shoes shorts shirt are wet and this fish is still on and i got scared i didnt know what it was or what even was a bass as a kid i thought it was going bite my leg off i was just trying to get back up the inbankment i got scared so i cut the line with the sharp part of the fish string and let it go i thought to my self dam theres fish this big in lakes. As i grew older and passed escondido off the 15frwy i always told my i self i will go back to get that fish that know one knows about but never returned I had no idea untill now that i saw this that i could have been the kid that caught the biggest bass alive and it had a name dotty. Guys i caught this monster and let it go guys lol just so mike long can snag it and become the snagging King cuz that fish would of never ate a bait he snagged dotty i gaurantee you. Wow im in awe right now I was the only guy ever to hook dotty in the mouth
Think he meant the cutting blade on the spool of line.. Some line spools have a slot that cuts the line.. could have been Dotty, could of been another monster bass, could of been a grass carp😂 Alot of speculation, and you were a kid. Cool story though
I don't get why you're not allowed to snag fish, but you're allowed to go out and shoot an animal, not against hunting or fishing or anything, but I just think it's kind of silly that you can't snag a fish, but you can go out and shoot a a deer that's just hanging out.
Your impaling these huge ass fish with sharp ass hooks... how it's that ok? Bass that Big ate for spawning not eating ... if your gonna catch it to eat it or snag it by accident then that's 1 thing.. but to cheat and stalk them and getthem while they are sitting ducks is stupid. Especially for the amount of money he made going it
Same reason why you can’t hunt deer at night with a giant spotlight. It’s not proper sportsmanship, a bass is tricked into eating a lure you fish. It’s a game of cat and mouse. If you have fish protecting a bed, they don’t move and guard their young from other predators. If you’re dragging a treble hook on a bass that has very little range of movement then is unethical. Deer freeze and their eyes light up when you shine a light on them that’s why it’s unethical to hunt them that way, it’s completely unfair like snagging bass. They honestly done have a way to fight it, that’s why it’s frowned upon. During the day deer do have a chance of getting away, they sense of smell, agility and ability to traverse land way quicker atleast gives them a fighting chance. Bass don’t have the ability to leave their bed it’s in their DNA.
I think the "stalking" is way worse than the "snagging." (Unless stalking is included in the white privileges package. I wouldn't know) What if Mike thinks your GF is selling organs on the black market? Would you be alright with him following her around for years playing deputy warden? This makes you wonder about those guys who caught Dotty later by "accidentally" foul hooking her? Snagging or not, bed fishing is bed fishing and you are a dork if you do it.
