bts exploded in america in 2017 which made ppl say "they are westernized now" and bts came up with idol in 2018 slapping ppl with traditional Korean beats and references representing that they embrace their culture as koreans and south African references are there as well stating they respect diversity and culture.

I'm sure you noticed the African theme in the beginning with the giraffes and the safari outfits. But BTS's choreo incorporated South African Gwara-Gwara and Nigerian Shaku Shaku dance moves. Their suits also carry over the African theme being made out of Ankara textile which originated in Holland but today is considered an African textile as it is now produced primarily in Africa with African motifs.

well every bts's songs are my fav song. when i fisrt listen to dynamite, it was my fav then i listen to mic drop, it was my fav and it happened again and again... so every new song of bts would be the favorite.

One thing I hated when bts were promoting idol in America people used to call the gwara gwara dance the idol dance and jhope had to explain that it's gwara gwara and explain it over and over people are uneducated

She has the best, most thorough explanation for everything to the most minute details, being that she herself has been army, since the very beginning & knows all the inside situations & hate that BTS has gone through which they referred to in many scenes of this MV! This one is also good Idol Explained vid by DKDKTV, but doesn't touch on every facet being that they haven't themselves actually been army for as long and aren't aware of many of those details and that aspect of their MV!! They're not even aware of the African influence in some of the musical instruments used, clothing, (pattern design), & most importantly the African dances like Gwara Gwara that you've noticed.

The whale is probably just a reference to ARMYs 😅 Since their song Whalien 52, we understand BTS and ARMYs being represented by whales. Whales sing, they live in families, they're spiritual and mysterious. Very symbolic animal.
