I was there. 100/10 experience. The crowd was SO hype and sang with him word for word. The livestream doesn't do it justice lol. I will truly never forget it. Army traveled from far and wide and waited all day for Hobi. It felt like a long-awaited party. This was on Sunday, a day that sometimes has lower attendance, but Hobi became the highest selling act in Lolla history. The crowd was mostly army. There was a good amount of people who didn't know who he was and was there to give him a chance, but as you can tell from the armybombs, Army definitely showed up 😂💜.

I am a 53 year old Latino woman the moment I heard that jhope was headline on Sunday lollapalooza I buy my ticket, the black spaces in the back with a fewer lights bombs were people who buy the ticket early and didn't have time or money for the light otherwise we could have seen more people, next day I was sore from dancing in a little Square space but I really enjoyed it and realized that we made history, even that I am old I love bts and jhope lyrics because are full of positivism to ourselves and others, kindness is the main message THAT'S WHAT WE NEED IN THIS TURBULENT WORLD

I travelled from France via London to Chicago just for this one night. Spent 1000's$ and came home with covid.. worth every penny and the 14 day isolation. Incredible night. The crowd, the atmosphere, the performance.. incredible. Can't believe I got to witness Hobi break out of his BTS role. How can he return to being 1/7 now? He commanded the stage and the audience. Just amazing

Jhope became the highest ticket-selling artist in Lollapalooza out of 30 years history, sold out over 1 million $ worth of merch and a lot of Armys weren't able to buy it still , had 105,000 who watched him in person but also HE HAD 14.9 MILLION PEOPLE who watched him on Weverse livestream PLUS THE VIEWS from other streaming platforms like Hulu , Twitter (army live) , and RU-vid livestream (army live) !! He made History!

I flew in from California and had a great time watching Hobi make history! Piggy-backing off of someone’s comment about him selling out $1 million worth of merch, I want to add that Hobi did this before he even stepped foot on stage. He and TXT were the only artists to sell out their merch by mid-day Day 4, and I only know that because I tried to buy some before the employee broke the news to me. I wanted to be sad, but more than anything, I was proud! His set was even better than expected and well-worth the wait. The energy between Hobi and the crowd was so electric and contagious that my boss, who was watching it live on Hulu back home, texted me during the performance to tell me that she wished she was with me because it looked so fun😂 It was unforgettable. I lost my voice that night from shouting out the lyrics and I’m STILL recovering to this day🥲 but I’d do it again.

I was there pretty close to the stage and none of the livestream captures how loud and hype we were. Just the fanchants alone hurt my ears and I was wearing high fidelity earplugs. Everyone absolutely lost it during Hangsang🤣 If you were wondering what the crowd was chanting at the end it was 'Go Hobi'

I'm 60 years young and follow BTS. I would have never thought that J-Hope could have gone in a completely different direction. HATs OFF to him. The sound, the beat, the lyrics were rough and aggressive, but with a positive message that's heart felt. What a contrast to put that together. I'm flabbergasted and this just part 1. Thank both of you. Really appreciate it.

i’ve lived in chicago ever since i moved to america(almost 20 years now). i never attended lollapalooza because downtown always became chaotic during the festival. but for j-hope? i had to go!! sunday at lolla is usually the day not many people go. but this year, j-hope made the most people ever buy tickets! my friends and i came at 9am for his 9pm performance we were at front by barricades and got to see his performance. i have seen bts 5 times before and this was somehow different. j-hope had complete control of the audience unlike ever i had seen before i’ve been to music festivals and i’ve never seen a crowd like this. everyone was singing along and cheering, it was so loud my parents heard it from our apartment a few minutes north of lollapalooza. j-hope forever left his mark on our festival. i notice that many army from our chicago area tend to bias rapline and i feel like lollapalooza and chicago was the perfect place for hobi to make his debut solo performance 💜💜💜

100K audience. Notice how J-Hope is presenting himself without all the polish and glam on an idol but just as himself with no makeup, no frills to present his true story in these songs. It's not kpop to him. It's just his passion for music, for what he loves to do. Lol!! Over 10M were watching from him. These award shows must be dying with envy. There were people in the crowd rich enough to buy water for everyone in the audience before the the concert started. ARMYs were doing a great job.looking out for each other. They sold out Hobi's merch table. They left a lasting impression on GPs.

The lyrics in "Jack in the box" is the best I've seen. Wow. It's so amazing. He himself had said that it should be listened to in order because it tells a story like a book. And he also mentioned how this album wasn't made to have "hits" on the radio. He said that he could have done that (he has proved that with his songs he wrote for BTS and Hope World) but this was about telling a story. He made the music, art, story exactly like he wanted. j-hope is an ARTIST. No doubt about that. And I would personally argue that there is "hits" on the album.

There were a lot of really positive reactions on Twitter from people who weren't ARMY, but decided to go to Hobi's set on Sunday night instead of one of the other artists in that time slot (I know Green Day was on during the same time period, I don't recall who was on the other two stages because I only glanced over the schedule online to confirm when j-hope's set was). All of them were blown away by his performance and the enthusiasm of the fans. He definitely gained more than a few new fans that night.

Yep jhope was headlining at Lollapalooza or should i say HOBIPALOOZA, he makes several history there : - first korean/kpop artist to headlining a major US music festival. - the highest n fastest ticket selling artist in lollapalooza history. - the most crowd/watched just for by himself (105k at the venue, 14.9M on weverse livestream realtime, 60k at youtube livestream, n we don’t even know how many watched via Hulu. - the fastest selling merch (5 mins, 10 if we count the waiting in line). - the highest grossing merch ($1M). - boosts Chicago economy to approx $4M. Even the founder of Lollapalooza n the mayor of Chicago got on stage just to announced jhope’s performance. Yep he gives a serious IMPACT both for the festival n the city. HOBIPALOOZA IS FOR THE HISTORY BOOM FOR SURE💜

I still have goosebumps every time I watch the replays and other youtuber reactors reaction to his performances. I've been reading a lot from Twitter, those people attended Lollapalooza for other artist (not BTS or K-Pop fans) saying compliments about J-Hope's performances, and led them to get interested in BTS. J-Hope led them to BTS. The word "PROUD" is not enough to describe ARMY's feelings about his amazing professionalism and talent. Watching his performance made me reminisce about the past when some people says J-Hope is ugly and not talented, well look at him now and look at yourselves! Thank you for staying genuine in reacting to BTS, I really feel your sincerity every reaction videos. Keep it up :)

And fainted right before "Chicken noodle soup" (there were over a hundred thousand people there to see our Hope!) and they had to pass me over the stantions. They let me sit for a sec, then they gave me a water, stood me up & made me stand waaaaaaaay off to the side, but that's ok cause I was in directly the right spot to see JIMIN come down the stairs!!!!!!!! Nah I think this hobi was different for everyone. It was really shocking watching his performance for the first time since it was such a stark difference of the hobi we're used to- but at the same time it was like a very real, raw j-hope. But even watching the performances again, it's still crazy seeing him like that- the closest we got to this before was maybe his hope on the street videos. It's really amazing seeing this side of hobi though- hes such a grand performer and his songs were amazing. He's always been able to captivate an audience on stage and he did exactly that!

I have tremendous respect for J-Hope, or Jay as he likes to be called because he was completely transparent and true to himself on this album. He told us that he poured his heart and soul into his music in order to tell the true story of his personal journey of the past decade. His story describes the hopes, fears, and doubts he’s experienced both as an artist and as a person. An individual may choose to identify with a persona that they feel best describes them, but over time they either outgrow it, or they question its validity or application to themself. Sometimes a persona is attributed to a person that they doubt they can live up to it. I experienced this as a teenager and it’s very stressful to be seen as a positive role model and hero while struggling with self doubt and sadness. It can be very hard to love yourself when you feel that you’re letting others down. J-Hope chose his name and became a ray of hope to all his fans, and then the fan base grew exponentially almost overnight. Imagine the burden he must have felt to lift everyone’s spirits when he, himself was struggling with self doubt. I think it is human nature to seek out the reason for our existence, or our purpose in life. It becomes a question of can I make a difference in this world? As I listened to this album I became aware that his deep and reflective lyrics come from raw emotions that have been buried so deep that they spring out like a Jack in the Box. This album describes Jay’s winding journey of the past decade. The tough, aggressive songs you both mentioned describe the hardships he has gone through with his fellow members and his internal struggles facing difficult emotions, doubts, and depression. Then he sings a beautiful song about letting his life experience give others hope and strength. He sings another song about his great hope that everyone should respect one another with equality. When you look at the album as a whole, and read it as a story, his life experience gives hope and strength to anyone who is there to receive it. The album is brilliant and I hope that Jay, and the album itself, will get the recognition deserved.

Please find Blue Side on You tube. He talks about even as happy as he always is, he also has a blue side. That’s why he sang Safety Zone after. At the end of Safety Zone, he was pointing up to the side. Jimin was watching him from there. He and Jimin have been roommates until they moved out of the dorm they have lived in for the past 5 years. They are brothers in arms and each other’s safe place. J-Hope is brilliant in everything!

army really showed the fuck up, the energy was immaculate from the crowd. i am so so proud of hobi, he deserves this and he absolutely killed it!!! it was a sunday night, the organizers said that sundays are usually low ticket sales but he is now the best selling artist in lollapalooza history, he changed the game!!!

This is a different J Hope than what ARMY are used to seeing. He's call sunshine Hobi for a reason and this is like the shadow side of him. I feel like he wants to show ARMY that he's not just a person who is always happy and smiling. I love that he's not afraid to show the side of him that has doubts and questions. Btw love your reaction!

Got me goosebumps & totally speechless when he bring baseline-cypher1-hangsang, he’s a hardworker, he turned jHope to JDooooppe, prooouuuudd of him, he’s standing all alone owned the stage, he’s not an idol, he’s already a SUPERSTAR!!

NGL if you listen to his music Jhope lyrics are mostly deep but puts a catchy beat which are mostly Old School HipHop. I love how he executed his rap and singing keeping in mind he did insane choreo as well. Im so proud of him hes come so far

It was said that jhope's in-ear has some tech difficulties all through his set, but still manage to get the timing and deliver a great, perfect performance. I don't know if anyone had said this, but yeah. Proud of Jhope! So much! 💜

This crowd is my pride and joy. Honestly I live in Africa and the chances of me being a part of such a crowd are slim but this made me so proud. The support was Beyond. I remember reading tweets from nonARMYs that day and they all agreed that the performance and the crowd were crazy

The fans are just so hype! I wish I could afford an experience like that, but watching it on RU-vid? I respect him as an artist more, such a good performer. Hobi’s English has improved so much, where have I been gone💀💀 Finally, I’ve been meaning to hear BTS be themselves without their filters for the K-pop industry.

I loooove BTS, like, there is not one day I don't listen to at least one song of them. Whatever song it may be. BUT, I think J-Hope is the only member who can pull this off... I don't see the other members doing it on this kind of scene, although I'm sure they will all do a great job at it because they are all performers. But J-Hope is just different! The only other member could be Suga in my opinion. But J-Hope is build for this. He went crazyyyyy on this concert, broke soooo many records with this concert! I had tears in my eyes watching this at 4am (Belgium time 😂😂) But it was worth it! Great reaction as always! Can wait for part 2!!!

Yes I think so too. Jhope is the only one who can do this and outside Korea. He is all rounder, he can rap, sing and dance. That's why suga said, he is taking lessons in singing too since he can't just rap the whole show.

I enjoyed your reactions. I wish you did the whole thing at once. Lol! I'm so proud of JHope. He stepped out of his comfort zone to perform without his team members at a major US music festival as a headliner and he killed the show. He made history by being the first Korean to headline at Lollapalooza and he's the artist with the biggest ticket sales in their history.
