When BTS first came onto the scene they were the nobodies from a nobody company. They had no money, no "senior" acts to fall back on or promote them, and no respect in the industry. They were openly mocked, sabotaged, and silenced by the Big Three Companies in the kpop industry at that time (SM, YG, and JYP). Those companies had a stranglehold on South Korean media and determined who would or would not succeed in South Korean music. No one foresaw that BTS would go around all that and find their own way to global domination, finding more recognition overseas than at home. BTS's ability to find a fandom through social media and rise to the top through grit, ingenuity, and connection to their fans is something that simply cannot be replicated. They were the first to use social media to find their fanbase and their fans are the first to create the sort of content that most kpop groups and fandoms have today on RU-vid (guide videos, behind the scenes, casual fan interactions, etc. etc. etc.). BTS sets the standard and the others follow.
They got a lot of hate. suggestions. On (Kinetic Manifesto), Not Today, Idol, The Truth Untold, and Spring Day. (there is a theory video for Spring day, which Is good to watch when watching the music video) There is a guide to BTS by Taylor That bis phenomenal. it's long but worth reacting to.
Watch Taylor Mari's guide to BTS bangtan 7. It will fill in the gaps. Watch the MMAs 2018 and 2019 live preformances. Spring day, Dimple, The truth untold and Fire are a few of my fav songs. Bulletproof Eternal was a song written for Army. Borahae 💜
Kpop industry has a culture of its own....very competitive between fan bases....so much so that BTS has received several death threats. There are several short videos, including 'From Nobodies to Legends', about the group and the challenges they faced moving up in the industry, but there is also a longer video we love, Taylor's Guide to BTS, that covers the individual members, their background and their roles within the group...all songwriters, composers, and producers as well as singers/rappers/dancers. Take your time...we'll watch it with you! Once you see that you'll be even more impressed and it will be helpful in learning/recognizing each one. Other upbeat songs...'ON' Kinetic Manifesto, 'Run' live at Busan or the dance practice (no MV) or something completely different 'Black Swan'. ARMY grandma EDIT TO ADD: Im happy to see that you've also covered Angelina Jordan and Tom MacDonald...two of my favorites. Someone completely new to you might be powerhouse female Korean/American singer AILEE. She did a great medley of her songs on Dingo's Killing Voice.
I love the energy of this song and live for Suga's (he had the mint green hair in this one) savage lines. The 4 Cyphers the rapline did are just chef's kiss 💋. One thing still for you to be even more blown away with is their live performances. They really do all the choreography and still sing/rap live, no lip synching, and their voices are even better live. Still recommend BTS Festa Room Live 2021 for a showcase of their wide range of genres and live amazingness (is that even a word)!
Next up: Black Swan? Honestly, they will give you whiplash with all the different styles they do, but they always keep it 100% BTS. Others to check out: - Fire - ON Kinetic Manifesto - Airplane Pt 2 - Fake Love - Butter - Spring Day - Idol .....and HUNDREDS more songs...
Black Swan and ON Kinetic Manifesto Film next for sure. Along with Dynamite and Mic Drop these are a great sampler for the diversity of their styles, without getting into non-MV territory.
Great reaction. A few suggestions: Dope, ON kinetic manifesto film, DNA, Fake Love, Stay Gold, Lights, Idol, Life Goes On, Blood Sweat and Tears just to name a few. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks. 💜
I knew you'd like this one. One of my faves and my 1st BTS MV. I suggest On Kinetic Manifesto next. The MV and choreo, Jk's vocal runs...perfection. ✌💜 BTS has 3 rappers, in this video 1. Jhope 2. SUGA/AgustD 3. RM Four incredible vocalists too The most amazing Rags to Riches story, despite a lot of hate sent their way. They pushed through, worked their arses off and give their fan base more love than some deserve.
Thank you for your reaction. You are going to love the boys! You enjoyed this a whole lot I see I think you would really enjoy seeing a couple of their early works. Check out bulletproof part two and no more dream. Those two were when they first started out just amazing thank you again enjoy your journey into BTS.
Thank you so much for reacting to OUR (ARMY) BELOVED BTS, THE NUMBER ONE BAND IN THE WORLD! You are in for a TREAT if you do your research. There’s way too much to write here. DIVE INTO THE RABBIT HOLE & you’ll NEVER be the same! Talented…you have NO IDEA, yet! Everything BTS (group & individual members) sings, says, does has DEEP MEANINGS. To let you know how diverse ARMY (fans) are: I am 64 years old, Caucasian, Deep South, American, GREAT GRANDmother. Found them during pandemic and have been forever changed. I love these beautiful, young men like they are my grandsons. 💜🤩
Mic Drop is BTS' response to their haters with a little flexing on the side spitting facts...lol. wuth Suga's epic lines "tasteless ratatouille" & "sue it". I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time. You will feel the same energy. 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Glad you're continuing on the journey. One of the things you may not know yet is that they actually write and produce much of their own music. You might want to consider Fake Love as your next stop on the journey.
Next Fire as it is literally 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Dope as it is 💯💯💯💯 dope No More Dream (debut song) No Not Today Idol (over 1B streams) Danger Boy In Luv Just One Day War of Hormones Blood Sweat & Tears Black Swan On Kinetic Manifesto and a lot more
💜🇧🇷💜love BTS 💜💜💜💜they are talented, funny, and beautiful human beings. They write their on lyrics and produce their songs, they can dance, they can sing, rap, they have ARMY all around the world 🌎 behind to suporte and love them! That why the music industry in Korea and so many others are gealous
Mic Drop totally rocks! ~ even after being out several years. You should check out Dope, Black Swan, DNA, Fire, Boy in Luv, Danger, Fake Love, Blood Sweat & Tears, Boy with Luv (ft. Halsey), Butter, Permission To Dance, the BTS Tiny Desk Concert, Baepsae (Silver Spoon) dance practice, and the Run BTS dance practice (from 2022). All are phenomenal ~ BTS is not playing around. Their vocals/rap and choreo are superb. Add the Busan concert to your list too ~ their live performances are fantastic. The Busan concert starts with Mic Drop and then they sing Run ~ both with full choreo and live singing ~ no lip sync. You are in for some good stuff. Welcome to the BTS ARMY! Enjoy! 💜
First the Korean hip-hop community tried to demoralize them by literally calling them names because the first two were underground rappers planning to become "idols" who are singers and dancers in the industry of k-pop. Then, since they were in a tiny company as opposed to the Big Three industry companies they couldn't afford air time and were cut from stages. Finally they started winning awards such as Rookie of the Year and Best New Artist. This is because their fan base, ARMY, kept growing and growing. They wrote songs about social justice at first, unheard of, but attracting more young fans from stifling Korean culture. Then they started being accused of various kinds of cheating. Haters haters haters. Add in racism, xenophobia, all that bs. They fought for themselves, their fans (called ARMY) kept growing and fighting hard. You will hear the anger in mostly rap songs like this, particularly the Cyphers (4 of them, but start with #2). The vocal line is beautiful, the full group is beautiful. Something like Dynamite you probably couldn't even guess who the rappers are. At any rate, this is song #2 for you and you are in for a ride like your won't believe.
Dear Army..do you think this guy is ready to watch BTS routine at the Mama 2019 awards show. Or is it to soon??🤔 Coz not sure if his mind or heart strong enough yet. Maybe we shud wait a while before we recommend it?? I purple you. 💜💜💜.Army Cape Town
I see that you watched the BTS Guide to learn about them. Which means you saw how much "haters" they had. This song was in response to that! Go BTS! Obviously they worked very hard for what they have and deserve all the accolades they have received. They are amazingly talented.
Please, pause as much as you need, because we want to hear your opinion on the videos. I think the ideal way is to pause and ten go back a few seconds just so you don't miss anything, but pausing in general is completely fine if you have something to say. That's the point of a reaction after all. If someone want to see the video unpaused, they can always watch the official MV and add some more streams to it :)
I would recommend Run BTS Live Performance, Dope MV or The Truth Untold Live Performance and Live Performance of Outro: Tear are all absolutely amazing & you get to see multiple genres as our Tannies can do them all.
Tear live (Black outfits), 4 Cyphers, Lollapalooza JHope, DDay Suga's concert and MMA 2019 you really can't miss! Those will blown you away for real!!! 😅
Mic Drop is great; glad you liked it! ARMY (BTS fans) prefer that you pause, rewind, etc so that you can really appreciate everything. We prefer long reaction videos! There's a lot to take in between hearing the music, reading lyrics, and seeing the video. A lot of reactors watch a MV at least twice...once through for the sound and visuals, then a second time to look at the lyrics. BTS write a lot of their own stuff, and the lyrics are really excellent and important. Another vote for ON Kinetic Manifesto Film: Coma Prima, Fake Love, and Blood, Sweat & Tears. Thanks for the reaction!
KPOP industry is very cut throat business. BTS were considered very low because their company was very small. They went through a lot of rejection. It's actually extremely interesting how they climbed up and over all of the other groups. They got a lot of hate. The 2 of the 3 rappers in the group were given a extremely hard time from other rappers in the rap industry. Telling them that they were not actual rappers if they were in a KPOP group. Well.....they proved them wrong. Not just in a small way but in a huge successful, worldwide kind of way. I suggest that you watch "Daechwita" by Agust D aka Suga from BTS. If you watch that you will understand how badass their rapping is. There is a lot of content and so much amazing rap from their rap line. The 4 vocal line have beautiful voices. Welcome to a amazing BTS journey. They are so talented!💜
Yes you must have been living under a stone, that you didnt listen to them before. Next recommended to listen to would be On Kinetic Manifesto. Proverbially known to be a banger
Hola. Te recomiendo la guia de bangtan de taylor mari para saber de ellos. También jhope en Lollapalooza es épico. Si te gusta el rap Ddaeng te va a gustar. En realidad todo de bts te va a gustar ellos son muy talentosos.
Definitely watch the dance practice video for Mic Drop! And for the other songs you've already heard, they're good and gives you a very different feeling for the song. You can consider watching the music vid + dance practice vid together in 1 reaction. They got sick choreography for Fire, Danger, Blood Sweat and Tears, Fake Love, Idol, etc.
