The thing that I love most about this song is how each member interprets their role. Not only the use of tear (tears you cry), tear (to tear apart), and fear, but the emotions they put into it are also slightly different. Namjoon sounds as if he upset, but he's known that the end was coming all along, and therefore isn't very surprised. He's accepted it. He uses tear (tears you cry) because instead of doing anything, he's accepted it and just wants to cry. Yoongi sounds as if he's trying to push himself away from the other person, feigning being alright, but he's still upset. He also sounds more angry and bitter than sad. He uses tear (to tear apart) because he's trying to separate himself and push away as quickly as he can, like ripping off a bandaid. Hoseok is the only one that seems like he wants the person or relationship back. He sounds desperate, as if he really doesn't want to let go. You can feel him reaching out. He uses fear because he's afraid of who he is and will be without the other person, and he doesn't want to be without them. This song is a masterpiece. Totally underrated.

I've been around six months into the fandom, heard some 92 songs but I've been sleeping on this masterpiece!! This has to be one of their most hard hitting lyrics (and they have so many). The resentment over how things have turned out, the helplessness when it comes to fate, the anguish regarding the emotional trauma the person has undergone and the final stanza where they resignedly accept this parting but also acknowledge how some trauma from this incident will always remain and that the person will never forget it - it will always be his fear - all such complex emotions are portrayed beautifully. Love you BTS. Everything you make is a beautiful work of art.

I have never cried to a rap song before, but let me tell you, this song makes me SOB. The almost wistful instrumentation, the way you can hear the desperation and pain in their voices, the way the parts gradually get faster as they spiral into heartbreak. The raw emotion in the lyrics, the backstory. Everything about this song is fantastic but god, does it hurt like hell.

It is crazy how underrated this song is. Just imagine being this song, getting weeks of hardwork put into you, and you don't hear people on the streets screaming, "OUTRO: TEAR IS SUPERIOR"

I just watched "Break the Silence" Documentary Series. At the ending of one of the episodes, Yoongi said this song is about their disbandment plan in 2018. I'm glad that had overcome that hurdle and stayed together. I can't imagine how our life would be without them staying by our side.

Rm's rapping is smooth and fluid no matter what he's rapping. He has a way with words that makes you think. Suga is passionate. Even though he is known as the cold scary one to newcomers, he puts the most emotions in his words. Jhope he's versatile. His style isn't a solid style. Other rappers try that but it sounds messy and muddy but he manages to create an image in your head with it No matter what our group has the best rap line.

if you read this without knowing anything, you'd say this was meant for a person (a loved one) that they cherish so so much that's why the emotion talking abt parting is so raw and hard like their life depended on it. now keep that in mind, as you found out the truth that this song was infact, written for BTS themselves, for each members at the height of the time they almost considered disbanding. see the impact? It's both tear, as in a fallen tear and tear, as in tearing something apart. Namjoon (RM) raps about fallen tears from a broken relationship. Yoongi (Suga) raps about wanting the relationship to tear apart, he doesn't want lingering feelings that can happen with things ending neatly and then possible regret. Hoseok (J-Hope) raps about both meanings of tear but his part at the end is like the final moments of the relationship, he's done with it. Thanks for like :)

No matter how old this outro gets, I’ll always find myself coming back to it. It’s so beautifully crafted, the lyrics, the beat, and the emotion. And can I just say how Hobi puts so much emotion into this, it’s as if he’s talking about his expectation to live up to the “happy jhope ” stage name. Jhope isn’t rapping here, Jung Hoseok is.

I love how Suga "tear apart" the word TEAR at 2:21 to emphasis it is not "crying" ... genius!!!

Basically addicted to this song, I mean it's so Perfectly written and sung, with the Perfect tunes and melodies, and gosh the words along with its meaning, I salute min yoongi and the power and imotions here in this breathtaking music, I'm lost into this dude... SARANGHE BTS 💜

I don't usually feel like commenting under a video, but this song Man, this song. I have never seen any artist( forget bands) writing about their members and about the pain of separation so eloquently. I don't understand Korean, but with this song ,the listener can feel sense of hurt, pain even without understanding lyrics. Hands down BTS, people call them band of The Century. Sorry, I'll just say they are genius artist and beautiful souls who have changed the meaning of music for me . This ain't no business, this is deep love among brothers. That's what it is.

This has always been one of my all time favourite BTS songs, but now knowing the meaning was behind the group possibly splitting it up my god it rips my heart out even more. I'm so incredibly grateful they are still together, and I am so thankful they continue to share their beautiful art with us, including this song.
