I agree with lou, cause at the end of the day... yes, bts can dance, can sing, has amazing videos, but the thing that got us the most has always been the messages of their songs, let alone that they're all bangers...

There’s a reason they reference Elton John…this song has a big “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” vibe. And that isn’t bad at all. It’s very, happy pop but it’s exactly what you’d expect from a BTS English, summer song written by Ed Sheeran after being locked down in a pandemic. Justin Timberlake did this a few years ago with “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. It’s nice to just smile and enjoy a happy song!!!

you know why i have loved this more than butter? bc in my perspective, it vv wholesome. this time its not just a 'fun song' like what namjoon always say with butter. we don't need permission to dance = permission to live free-spiritedly.. they emphasized workers that had to loose their job and children who had a different childhood bc of pandemic. the long wait is over, we should finally let go of the burden that pandemic has given to all of us.

Since this mv had everything to do with Purple, somehow even with least lines in vocal line, Taehyung stood out because he's the creator of "I purple you". And the fact that Taehyung once said "I left a purple balloon in your dream. Look it up" to a army who couldn't sleep on weverse. THIS MV IS VISUAL EMBODIMENT OF THAT. After a while, This song is going to be like Spring Day. It resemble a phase we needed to pass. The pandemic effected a lot of people. We are slowly getting back to life. And I can feel it in this music video and song. There is hope and it’s time to move forward.

I love the positivity in this song. After the pandemic and everything that has happened over the past 2 years we need to move forward! The best part to me is when they all take the masks off. When the PTD teaser dropped.. I didn't like the music I liked the vibe. But when the MV dropped.. The best way to describe is I felt warm. I was smiling all the time. The song made me feel everything is gonna be okay. I'm gonna be okay even if I fall sometimes. That's all PTD is to me. However I have no problem with other people not liking it. We all are entitled to our own music taste and opinion. It's okay if we don't like some songs of our favorite artist. At the end of the day we all have our comfort songs. For some, PTD isn't that song. For me, it is a feel good song. All listeners are entitled to like or dislike certain songs. But what isn't right is either hating the boys or hating others whose opinion doesn't match with us. So the bottom line is.. Yes, I personally loved PTD and I'll come back to it when I'll need a little pick me up from bad mood.

As someone that has been directly affected by COVID this song makes me so happy and It’s sad to see that some people are shitting on it. A friend of mine died bc of COVID, her name was Jameela but I would call her by her last name Barber since we were in Jrotc back then. I really miss her and I’m so ready to move away from this pandemic. PTD is like a light in the darkness bringing all types of people together and I thank bts and it’s writers for this song, it made me cry happy tears the first time I listened to it and now I find myself humming it every day 💜

This is what I realized after watching and listening to PTD. Dynamite was released at the start of the pandemic to let us feel that we can overcome these all. And then, LGO came out saying that life goes on no matter what happens. After that, Butter was released for us to enjoy and be happy in this situation. So... PTD is for us to celebrate the end of the pandemic. I saw on Twitter that one ARMY has the anagram of shuffling the letters in PTD and the phrase that was made is "STORIES OF PANDEMIC"... Even this song was not counted for BB for charting, but the message of the song signifies hope and freedom that this pandemic will be gone soon.

I feel like this song is reinforcing the idea that "KPOp is for anyone" and a message could be* that if it's bop: it's a bop. You don't need permission to jam to a bop. To dance to a bop and just enjoy the music. This song was released on the day Army was created (the fan name, I believe [hence all the purple balloons, also with them flying to a majority of people showing that KPop and BTS specifically is reaching everyone]) so it's just BTS' reminder that they, like Big Hit's old motto, create music for healing and for good vibes.

You know what makes me appreciate BTS are "Artists"? There ain't specific concept they stick to and the concept they are doing will revolve around the mentality that they have at the moment! Their debut was Hip hop inspired, more badass, rap focused songs, 2017-18 when they had the toughest time in their career, they told everyone to love themselves (Love yourself Era), when they were afraid to lose their love for music and were afraid that they will forget how they felt when they first made music (Map of the soul), Despite everyone being locked down and separated, Life Goes on (BE), and we have their English releases which are all fun, dance and more radio worth (Dynamite, Butter and PTD)! I'm more than proud of the BTS that I stan today!

I've been listening to permission to dance on repeat since yesterday! The MV is so wholesome and it had the feeling of "togetherness" if that makes sense. It's such a feel-good, celebration song. Even the phrase "Cause we don't need permission to dance" in itself is so simple but powerful. Don't be afraid to dance and do things you enjoy doing. Don't let anyone else hold you back.
